This morning discovered a leak from an upstairs toilet that ran all the way to my basement ceiling. What a great way to start a day! After a few phone calls to a other local plumbers, I discovered long phone waits, service call charges, and a general lack of concern for my problem. No one was able to get to my house until the next day-----and this wasn't going to cut it for me! I left the house for work in the morning thinking I had solved the problem temporarily after shutting the water off to a toilet that had been wobbling back and forth (perhaps the wax seal was broken). My wife called around 5:00pm saying the leak had returned....apparently my initial diagnosis of the problem was wrong! After another Google search, I found Roto Rooter at 5:00 pm, called immediately, and they were at my house by 6:30 pm. I was amazed to hear that there was no service charge for them to show up, and no ""after hours fees"" for them to come after 5:00 pm. Another plus (a huge one for me) was that my problem was addressed immediately; I was not put on hold, or transferred around to different people! I thought these folks only unclogged drains----was I wrong! What I discovered was a plumbing company that I plan on using for life and recommending to many others outside of this review! Sales Technician Jeff Jones arrived the same afternoon I phoned and quickly determined the trouble with our outside drain from the gutter. The drain under the walk had previously been replaced but was concrete and had cracked . It was full of roots & required considerable work to unclog the drain and \r replace it with new plastic pipe. Jeff worked very efficiently to complete the job, and was very polite and\r courteous. It has rained since the work was done and \r the drain works perfectly. Our kitchen pipes were stopped somewhere down past the kitchen. The plumber came on time, same day as the service call was submitted. He worked on the drain until it was cleared and it's been great since.\r This is the third time we've used Roto-Rooter - which is an endorsement right there. March 7, 2010\r \r \r I called Roto-Rooter Friday morning, March 5, 2010, to have a sewer line cleanout replaced. The existing one had a right angle sweep to the main sewer and I couldn’t clean out the sewer in the direction of the house. I was referred to the appraiser and he gave me an estimate on the phone of approximately $675 to do the job. I agreed and much to my surprise, for I had gone out to do some errands, a Roto-Rooter worker, Bob, came to the house within an hour. He excavated the improperly installed existing cleanout and did a tentative examination of the sewer line in the direction of the house with a camera. He found a partially damaged existing 4” black iron pipe at the connection and a wad of roots.\r \r He called his supervisor, Rick, and he came shortly after with a more sophisticated camera. He located the crack in the sewer line next to where it connected to the foundation. Rick explained the options. The job to excavate and replace the line with PVC pipe and install a new cleanout would cost, including the original estimate, $2980. I agreed to do the job. Instead of bringing a bobcat to do the excavation, Bob volunteered to do the work by hand, since it crossed an aggregate sidewalk. He started the job that afternoon and finished the excavation the same day. He finished the installation of the new pipe and cleanout the next day, Saturday morning.\r \r The excavation dirt was replaced allowing for settling and the old pipe was removed and the cleanup was almost like the original landscaping.\r \r Both workers, Bob and Rick, were very professional and explained in detail what the job entailed. We are pleased with the work. The technician was very polite and professional. He was determined to help us find the source of our problem . Unfortunately, we're dealing with a ""mysterious"" sewage gas odor in our home, so we were not able to completely fix the problem, but we definitely were able to eliminate some things and get closer to hopefully solving this unwelcome ""mystery""! During the worst snow storm in Nashville, TN in 7 years, my only toilet stopped working. Water backed up into my tub and water GUSHED from my toilet, flooding my bathroom. With all the roads dangerously covered with snow and ice, I feared no one would be able to get to me. Many businesses were closed due to the weather. I was pleasantly surprised when I called Rotor-Rooter and someone answered. After listening to my problem, the person assured me that someone would be able to get to me within 2 hours. Within about an hour and a half Technician Jay Vujic arrived at my house. His personality and professionalism instantly alleviated my distress. He went beyond what I expected by digging up the snow and ice in several locations looking for some sort of outlet pipe. The temperature was below freezing and snow was still falling. I looked on in amazement! After not finding what he was searching for, he presented me with alternate repair plans . He worked with me until he came up with one that was affordable and guaranteed for 6 months! He patiently explained the problem , its cause and prevention to me. He also made suggestions concerning other possible future plumbing problems. He did the repairs and left my bathroom clean. As I watched him drive off with the crunch of icy snow beneath his van tires and waved at him through a haze of falling snow I was suddenly overcome by an overwhelming sense of relief and satisfaction! Thank God they were able to do a major \r plumbing repair on a Sunday to take care\r of our Rental Property. They were on time,\r cleaned up after work performed. Was \r nice enough to take off their shoes before\r entering the house without asking. Also\r was very friendly and helpful. Carol Wall called Roto-Rooter on November 6th. They came out did an excellent job on the very same day. Cleaned up neatly, explained everything in detail to her. The man was very polite and concerned about the problem. He did everything he said he would and more. He worked very hard to remedy the problem. She said she would call them again if needed. Price reasonable,she wants everyone to know how well they do their job. Only call ROTO-ROOTER and you will be well satisfied. If I ever need a plumber, I will certainly call them.
