The technician was very polite and professional. He was determined to help us find the source of our problem . Unfortunately, we're dealing with a ""mysterious"" sewage gas odor in our home, so we were not able to completely fix the problem, but we definitely were able to eliminate some things and get closer to hopefully solving this unwelcome ""mystery""! I would definitely call Roto Rooter for future plumbing needs, and will certainly ask for Bob to come back and help us as we narrow in on this case. Pros: Very professional and thorough more

During the worst snow storm in Nashville, TN in 7 years, my only toilet stopped working. Water backed up into my tub and water GUSHED from my toilet, flooding my bathroom. With all the roads dangerously covered with snow and ice, I feared no one would be able to get to me. Many businesses were closed due to the weather. I was pleasantly surprised when I called Rotor-Rooter and someone answered. After listening to my problem, the person assured me that someone would be able to get to me within 2 hours. Within about an hour and a half Technician Jay Vujic arrived at my house. His personality and professionalism instantly alleviated my distress. He went beyond what I expected by digging up the snow and ice in several locations looking for some sort of outlet pipe. The temperature was below freezing and snow was still falling. I looked on in amazement! After not finding what he was searching for, he presented me with alternate repair plans . He worked with me until he came up with one that was affordable and guaranteed for 6 months! He patiently explained the problem , its cause and prevention to me. He also made suggestions concerning other possible future plumbing problems. He did the repairs and left my bathroom clean. As I watched him drive off with the crunch of icy snow beneath his van tires and waved at him through a haze of falling snow I was suddenly overcome by an overwhelming sense of relief and satisfaction! Carol Wall called Roto-Rooter on November 6th. They came out did an excellent job on the very same day. Cleaned up neatly, explained everything in detail to her. The man was very polite and concerned about the problem. He did everything he said he would and more. He worked very hard to remedy the problem. She said she would call them again if needed. Price reasonable,she wants everyone to know how well they do their job. Only call ROTO-ROOTER and you will be well satisfied. If I ever need a plumber, I will certainly call them. The toilet in my 97 year old mother's house didn't work. I was in town from Calgary Alberta for a very short time and needed help fairly quickly. I called Roto Rooter, the person who answered the phone gave the factual info that the service person would be out, give me an estimate, repair the problem if possible and said they could be at our house within the hour. The service man arrived, gave me the estimate and what needed to be done, and repaired the problem. He was the nicest gentleman, was very thoughtful, efficient, and very professional. I paid him, he left and with in another hour, we were paid a visit by another RotoRooter gentleman wanting to know if his service man did the job. We had a toilet draining poorly. Called Roto Rooter, the serviceman called in a ""technician"" who ran a camera down the main line. He said our line was the original cast-iron, corroded, separated under the yard and needed replacing immediately, quoting $5400 and hard selling me with a ""no-one will beat this price"" pitch. I called a local plumber I've used for a second opinion. He gave me a bid of $4000 for the same job. But, when he heard that the estimate was from Roto Rooter he said we should run a camera in again before digging. The line was NOT cast iron, it is pvc except for a short run near the house and NOT separated. He replaced the short piece of cast-iron with no digging and replaced our toilet, which was the only real problem with the draining. If I had not gotten a second opinion I would have paid RR $5400 for a job I didn't need to have done, and may be writing a positive review of their work, not knowing they had intentionally mislead me. I have since tried to call the administrative offices of RR to make them aware of the situation. I've called eight times and, once I tell the operator the nature of my call, have been transfered to lines that continue to ring unanswered. I would never call nor trust Roto Rooter again, who's representatives have a commissioned incentive to sell you what you don't need. Called Roto Rooter this morning with a non-emergency issue, and they had a guy out to my house at noon. They called me when he was on his way, and he arrived at the very beginning of the two hour window they gave me. He diagnosed the problem, located the pipe to be repaired, and got right to work. Floorboards had to be removed to access the pipe, but he replaced them all after the work was completed and the end result looks just fine. My pipes burst during the cold snap we just had (weekend of Jan 17th, 2009). I called Roto-rooter because they were rated highly on this site and they had a free estimate. They were able to come over quickly, but the guy who came only fixed half of the problem. He charged $300 to replace one 3/4"" pipe under the house which took less than an hour. Pros: Quick response Cons: You will pay too much, quality of work is low more
