Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

The only contact I ever had with Roto Rooters ever was an eye contact with the drivers in the vans I have encountered on the road through out the years. I always associated such contact with an image of overflowing sewage, bad smell, and some guy bended over a broken toilet. But I learned that I was wrong! My kitchen sink was overflowing with water, and my first reaction was to call the guy that declogged it last year. He kept playing hide and sick with me for several days, and I ended up contacting another guy recomended to me. First time he cancelled out on me the last minute, and said he had an emergency at another location. He rescheuduled and made me wait another 2 days, and it did not work out again. My uncle volunteered underestimating his abilities and left me with no pipes under the sink and clogged main line. Sunday Night in frustration I opened the yellow book, and picked two most colorful adds a competitor and Roto Rooters. I dialed both. While the competitor's live operator said a technician will call me back, I got direct answers from Roto Rooters right away and scheduled an appointment for the next day, although they were even willing to come out at 8:30 pm the same night. Guess what the competitor's technician never called back either, and thank god. I call it FAITH. I am so glad I ended up getting services from Roto Rooters, and met Greg-2957. In less than 2 hours Greg cleaned out the main waterline, installed new piping under the sink. While working, the area stayed clean and no dirt. Greg is a real professional with 30 yeas of experience. Although I was promised a cheaper service by other plumbers, I am glad I paid more and recieved a high quality service and a well done Job. Our kitchen sink/garbage disposal was very clogged. The plumber who came out was very knowledgeable and pretty fast. He made sure the problem was solved and double checked for new leaks in the pipes below the sink. The only downside was that he was later (about a 1/2 hour late) than was promised to us when we made the call to schedule service. However, I would still use them again. Chicago more

Called at 5:30pm on Christmas Eve, had a call-back in 10 minutes with a plumber on the way. Omar got there within an hour and unplugged our three kitchen sinks in 20 minutes. Polite, professional, clean and quick, and on Christmas Eve no less! Not cheap, but a flat fee was quoted prior to work. Highly recommended! more

A Roto-Rooters plumber had been out in November and told me I needed to repair part of my outside sewer line after I noticed a back up in my downstairs shower. My house is over 50 years old in the Chicago area and the sewer line was cracked and full of roots. The sewer was rodded in November and I planned on having the repairs done after the holidays. Well, I was horrified to find the same back up in my basement shower yesterday morning. I figured I would not be able to get the repairs done before Christmas. I called my technician, Eddie who came out last night in a snowstorm to iron out the details. The crew just finished up today in a timely fashion. I wasn't prepared for the mess on the front lawn but I guess that's better than the mess in the shower. more

Good: i liked my tech john badge number 1235. Bad: i was suppose to have service done on sunday.i called at 9am and was told it would be done same day. nobodoy came and i had to miss work and i could not use my bathroom all day.. Improvements: do not advertise 7 days a week service and u could not deliver a plumber on sunday. more

I live in Chicago and whenever I need a plumber, I call Roto-Rooter. Their employees are always courteous and thorough when doing their work. I just had some work done today, and once again, I am completely satisifed at the service I received. I would highly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone who needs plumbing work done. more

A cold snowy Sunday morning and water was coming up the basement drain flooding the basement. I didn't think I'd get a plumber until Monday. I went online to search for help and I saw an ad for Roto-Router. I made an appointnment online and about an hour later recieved a calling saying that someone was on their way. No extra charge for Sunday service either! A very poilite and friendly guy arrived and had things working again in no time at all. I am very please with Roto-Rooter and will recommend them to my family and freinds. more

I had a hot water cooper leak that prevented my family from using the shower. The plumber (John Nelson) arrived in the afternoon and fixed the leak. John was very friendly and professional, he also communicated the process during the procedure. Roto-Rooter usually has the best price and quick service, I have very happy with the repair. Good: I loved the thorough explanation from Josh that assured me that we were insalling the right product to endure that there would be no more flooding in my basement.. Bad: Nothing! They were in and out in a day and my concerns are now gone.. Improvements: n/a. Other: Roto Rooter is a name I can trust and I know they wil stand by the service. It was Thanksgiving night. All the guests had eaten turkey and the trimmings. They were chatting among themselves. It seemed Rockwellesque. I slipped out to wash a couple of pots before dessert, while everyone's food was digesting. Pumpkin pies, an apple pie, pineapple upside down cake, brownies, a huge assortment of pastries and cookies and candies were soon to be served. The coffee already was brewed and smelled terrific. As I finished scrubbing the first pot, the sink water started to rise—and kept rising. My son drove to an open store to buy a plunger. He plunged. Then, he drove back to the store and bought a rodder. He rodded. The water grew higher—and blacker. Lots of suggestions arose from the table, but none worked. I called Roto-Rooter. The technician arrived in less than an hour. Only a sewer monster could have caused a clog like the one we had. It filled the entire pipe. I know because my son took a picture. The technician needed the strongest tools he had, but soon we were able to sit down to dessert. This kind man gave up his Thanksgiving to save ours. I wish my son had taken his photo instead of the clog. Despite all the work that lots of people had done to prepare that Thanksgiving meal, it was the Roto-Rooter guy, Julian, who truly made our Thanksgiving—because he saved it. more

I looked in the Chicago phone book to locate a plumber in my area. I was fortunate to get a fantastic, personable, and knowledgable plumber to unclog my kitchen and laundry room drains. Omar was polite and extremely neat while completing the job. Now I know why Roto-Rooter is rated #1!!! more

The plumber from Chicago arrived at my toilet paper + pond in my basement 35 minutes after I called Roto-Rooter. Now that is fast service by anybody's standards. He set up rapidly and cleaned from my cleanout to the street sewer and then cleaned the sewer pipes in the basement. After he was done he gave me good advice on root control and suggested sewer service every 3 years. All in all a great experience for a very ugly prtoblem. Thanks to Josh. more
