Very friendly 4/11/2013

After reading the poor reviews of the Rodeway Inn, Whites City, New Mexico, I hesitated to make reservations. I planned a three day weekend to hike to Guadalupe Peak and due to its close proximity, I decided to stay at the Inn. I must have had a renovated room, because it was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The coffee maker worked, and housekeeping left two packets of regular coffee, as I requested. I found the staff to be very friendly. Since I wanted to reach the trailhead to Guadalupe Peak by sunrise. Being the third weekend in January, it was cold outside; however, I felt the room was well heated. I will definitely stay there again. more

Fantastic 4/9/2013

Access to Carlsbad Caverns is minutes away. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the Caverns themselves which makes it very convenient for going back after exploring the caves to check out the 7:30 BAT FLIGHT, which is amazing. It is also only about 40 minutes to Guadalupe Mts National Park. My spouse and I drove down in the morning & hiked up Guadalupe Peak. It would have been much less convenient to drive down from Carlsbad and then back again after a full day of hiking. . The water park/pool is absolutely fantastic. The kids will just love it. I've never seen anything like it at a motel before. they should probably spark up their continental breakfast which is basically coffee, orange juice and packaged pastries. This is an older motel and some work still needs to be done, but the pluses outnumber the minuses. more

A nice surprise was the restaurant next door, it has a limited menu for dinner, but was very inexpensive and the food and service were both very good. We ate both dinner and breakfast there and both were very good. All in all, not the kind of place to spend a week, but for a couple of nights while visiting the Caverns, it’s just fine. Sure beats an hour drive back to Carlsbad after the bat flight. more

Easy to find 4/2/2012

If you're planning on visiting Carlsbad National Park, stay here. Location is great. It's easy to find and very close by. Not much of a trip to the park. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Amenities are great! more
