We were so happy with our stay at Rodeway Inn. The staff was pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby and our room was nice and clean. We had a really good vacation because of this hotel! more

A dream to stay at 8/28/2014

We found Rodeway Inn from the phonebook after we checked into a different hotel that was an absolute nightmare. The lady at the front desk at the Rodeway Inn made accommodations at the last minute so my family could have an enjoyable vacation. This hotel was a dream to stay in and we are so thankful we did not have to stay in the other absolutely terrifying hotel! I cannot thank Rodeway Inn enough!!! more

There is a grassy area 8/12/2014

There is a grassy area to take your dogs behind the hotel, please take a potty bag with you. If we want hotels to stay dog friendly we must pick up after our pets.Someone mentioned lack of outlets in the room, we had no problem with that. more

We needed a pet friendly hotel and choose this one. The night clerk was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and nice. Looks like many of the rooms are ungoing renovation, so they will be even better. It was quiet and there is a fridge and microwave in the room.\r more

We stayed here 8/1/2014

We stayed here during the weekend during our visit to Carlsbad Caverns. The location was close to the national park, which gave us more time to visit there. The room is nothing fancy, but it was around $100 per night, which was much better than paying $250 for the holiday inn express in Carlsbad. Although, a similar hotel at a different location would have been less. We didn't eat at the nearby restaurant, due to bad reviews, but instead ate inside the park (try the burritos). The beds were old, but the room was clean and a good size, with a remodeled bathroom. more

A five star rating 7/18/2014

A five star rating, to me, means that the place was perfect for the purpose it serves. The Rodeway Inn at White's City exists to serve families going to Carlsbad Caverns. The Caverns are NOT in Carlsbad (30 miles away). You can see the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns from this motel. There is a water park with two great slides for older kids/adults and a kiddie pool area with a pirate ship and a mushroom waterfall. There is also a regular hotel swimming pool. The motel is older but has been updated and taken care of. The folks at the front desk are very nice and accommodating. White's City is really not a city at all... just a spot in the road. There's a little grocery with just snacks; a gift shop; an arcade; a restaurant (which we did not try). If we did this again we would pack in our own snacks, sandwich making materials, milk, breakfast cereal, etc. more

Staff was very friendly and informative. Room was clean with a large flat screen TV, microwave and small fridge. Short 5 minute drive up the hill to Carlsbad Caverns. A shell gas station that has no attendants and a restaurant that we did not try do to terrible reviews. So unless you want to drive 25 minutes to Carlsbad for beer and food or to eat out I suggest you just bring it with you. Breakfast in the morning was as advertised, coffee, juice, muffins and some granola bars. There might have been more I hit it kind of late in the service. Little water park in the parking lot was great! A small pool a little splash pad for the wee ones and two nice water slides. Kept the kids entertained for the afternoon. Fantastic deal for the price, location enabled me to be at the cavers early before the crowds and out in time to enjoy the afternoon and water park with the family. more

We made 6/9/2014

We made a last minute choice to stay at The Roadway Inn. Our original plan was to spend a few hours exploring Carlsbad Caverns and be back on the road. When my wife got sick, a second day was added. I'm not happy my wife is ill but I'm thrilled that we are here! The room is located just outside the entrance to the park, a short 15 minute drive and we are at the visitors center. It's roomy, clean, and comfortable, has a new TV, AC runs well and for Carlsbad is a pretty good value! Across the street is a neat gift shop and museum. The restaurant is rustic, has good food and has reasonable prices. There is a small water park here as well that is open in the summer. My daughter was sad to find out that the pool is closed for the season. She wants to spend a few more days taking different tours in the caves at a later date. I get the feeling this is not the last night I will spend here. This spot has exceeded all my expectations! more
