I am new to the area and was looking to check out the local tattoo shops. I went into Rock City Tattoo and discovered a wonderful shop. Rock himself was awesome and after meeting the rest of the staff decided that this was the place I wanted to get a tattoo. The tattoo was designed by me but was tweaked by his artist, who came up with some great ideas. My tattoo didn't come out good - it came out great! I'm certainly a fan and will never go anywhere else! more

I visited sever shops over the past couple of months trying to figure out the best place to get a small tattoo I was thinking about. I never had one before and was interested in the process. How long will it take? Will they understand what exactly I want? Where's the best area to place the tattoo? Well, I found exactly what I was looking for in Rock City. They understood exactly what I wanted, where I wanted it, the colors I expected and they even made suggestions on how to make the colors pop more, and actually suggested a better location for it on my body to show it off better. The artist was exceptional and the owner, Rock, made sure I was comfortable and made sure I knew the process of what was happening. I actually felt like family. They are the real deal and I even went back for a piercing. It's obvious that Rock takes pride in his shop, in their work, and above all else, makes everyone know that it's about the customers....making sure they get exactly what they want and making sure they are happy with the results. And, yes Rock, I am happy with the results!!! more

Went into Rock City with a couple of buddies to just look around and boy was I impressed. The owner, Rock, was very helpful in answering any questions we had and we ended up all deciding to get tattoos. And I got a piercing as well. The place is friendly, spotless, and the staff couldn't be more on their game. Take a minute to stop in and you'll see what I mean. Terrific place! more

Anyone who says this place is good, does not know anything about piercings or tattoos. This place is absolutely disgusting. I have been to many tattoo shops and this one is by far the worst, I don't know how they are still open. I got a couple crappy tattoos there and I completely regret going there. The artists are not that great. To a regular person it may seem ""clean"" but it's not. Rock is a creepy old nasty dude who touches everything with the gloves on his hand. I had microdermals done there and had to get them removed because he used some kind of fake metal and my skin started turning weird colors. I went to Starlight to get them removed and Dom was so shocked. Rock IS NOT CERTIFIED as a piercer. He simply goes on youtube and watches how to do it. I heard a story that he went to pierce someone and had the gloves on already but went to the computer, TOUCHING THE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD and looked up how to do the piercing. Disgusting. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE. If there's a great place you want to go its Powerhouse Tattoo in Montclair. Rock City is a disgrace to tattoos and piercings. more

I would never go to any other tattoo palor besides Rock City Tattoo. Go there and you'll see what I mean. I found exactly what I was looking for and the prices were very inexpensive. I wonder at the work that they do. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo and was quite surprised when I actually got on. I went into Rock City Tattoo just to get an idea on what the process was all about, who their artist was, and to see their work. I was really impressed and found myself off that fence real quick. I not only decided then and there that that was the tattoo shop for me, I got my tattoo that day. Couldn't believe my luck in finding this tattoo shop. I was out with friends just hanging out and drove past this shop and decided to stop by to see if they had anything that seemed exciting to me. I was amazed by their artwork and their artist was willing to help me out with an idea I had for a tattoo. The owner was the nicest guy and he and his staff made you feel real at home. I just had the best experience in Rock City Tattoo! The artist are wonderful. Their work is creative, colorful, and my tattoo really pops. The shop has a warm atmosphere and the owner, Rock, is very friendly and wants to make sure all his customers feel welcomed and comfortable. Went here for all 4 of my tattoos. Great experience every time. Great staff and good reasonable prices. I'm looking to start my sleeve soon and this is the only place I would consider going. Clean, upbeat, and they are all normal guys. Would recommend to anyone. more

I love this place! I recently went to get my septum pierced and to inquire about a tattoo. Rock, the owner does all the piercings and really puts his heart into it. I was really pleased with how it came out. Rock clearly explained everything to me and really makes me feel at home. They have reasonable prices for tattoos and piercings. I booked my appointment for my next tattoo and I'm really looking forward to it. The artist took time to listen to what I wanted to get and made me feel really confident and comfortable about getting it, which calmed my nerves! I spotted a Rock City Tattoo billboard and decided to give them a shot. I am so glad I did. They were wonderful. The owner, Rock, is a great guy and his staff are the most experienced artists around. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. They were very helpful and helping me pick the perfect tattoo for me.
