Totally made my day! luv luv 9/16/2010

You ever wake up and have one of those days when you feel blah.... Today was that day, Until I went to Rocco & Rocco. I called and made a same day appointment, the receptionest suggested a stylist named Courtney. I have to admit I was worried because of the same day appointment and how my morning was going that this may not have been the best idea. Boy was I wrong! I got to the salon and was greeted by the receptionist, she gave me a refreshment and I waited for about 5 minutes. Courtney met me and walked me back to her chair, she listened to my concerns and gave me beautiful color, and a great cut. Way better than I expected! The girl even took the time to style my hair and explain how. THEN... when she walked me to the front after we were finished she gave me a coupon for 10 dollars off! Score! great hair and a discount. She is Fabulous, everybody was so nice and I have a beautiful new look. Run dont walk girlfriends, this place is for sure a fav. more

The land of the orange 3/24/2009

I just started going to Rocco & Rocco this past summer because the salon I go to is in the city and was inconvenient to get to. My boyfriend and his dad as well as a few of my mom's friends all go to Rocco & Rocco and recommended it and the location is ten minutes from my house so I figured I would try it out. I called the salon one afternoon and spoke to a very rude woman who seemed extremely displeased that she had to talk to me. I asked her recommendation for a trendy stylist and she led me to Dana D. I ended up making an appointment for later that day and I was greeted by a less than friendly staff. I couldn't help but notice how chaotic the salon seemed, and how orange all of the employees looked. The girl who washed my hair didn't say one word to me besides introducing herself. Once I was shampooed, I sat waiting in Dana's chair. When she finally showed up she was not at all friendly and didn't say more than a few sentences the entire time, I got the cut I wanted, however the customer service was completely lacking. This seems to be a common thread among my visits to Rocco & Rocco. I have gone back maybe 2 or 3 more times because it is convenient and hey I'll take a pretty good hair cut for $35. The scenario has been the same on every occasion: rude employees that act burdened that they have to check me in and offer me water, shampoo girls that make it very apparent how much they dislike their job, and unfortunately, a hair stylist who can't seem to get rid of me fast enough. If you can look beyond all the attitude from multiple people, lots of waiting around for people to show up, inappropriate work attire, and an extremely loud salon, you can get a pretty decent hair cut for a good price. Pros: Location, Price Cons: Rude Employees, Very Loud, Impersonal Interaction more

Best Salon Hands Down 9/17/2008

I know you hear comments about salons, this person says this, that says that. But please take it from me. I've worked at top salons Zanos, Tricocci, and have tried others for my hair but nothing compares to Rocco and Rocco. Ron, the owner has been doing my mom's hair for over 20years, and gave me my first cut at 5yrs old, Im 31, hes done my proms, and wedding and is just an all around down to earth guy who knows how to take care of his staff and meet the needs of his clients. Over the years I've gone back and forth getting my hair cut by people but always go back to Ron, because deep down, even though its a bit of a drive for me, he does the absolute greatest job. He is trendy, fun, outgoing, and cuts hair like I've never see, he has visions and will tell you the honest truth if you can or can't do something with your hair. Please take it from me, been around, visit Rocco and Rocco in downtown Downers Grove. You won't be disappointed. Pros: trendy, upbeat, chicago feel salon in small town, no snobs, very social and great service, prices are awesome Cons: Nothing more

Fabulous salon 9/13/2008

I went to this salon because I always pass by there and I see them doing really nice hair. I wanted to do a drastic change so I took my chances I went there. The receptionist recommended a hairstylist who specializes in short haircuts. I took her a picture of what I wanted and she did it exactly like the picture. Every time I take a picture of a haircut it never looks the same. Not this one, she did it exactly. I highly recommend this salon, very clean and professional. My hairstylist from now on is Dana W. at Rocco and Rocco. Pros: Talented people working there, clean and professional. Cons: No cons yet. more

Small-town salon too busy for big-city spa feel 3/29/2008

A little competition, I'm sure, would improve how Rocco and Rocco defines its spa experience. It's convenient and that's why I think it draws a crowd ... I've been a client there for nearly two years. My experience is that services are sacrificed because overbooking makes detailed care a second priority. I often feel that I'm processed through a car wash of services--especially getting my hair cut--and that an obvious get-them-in-and-out philosophy is paramount to building a reputation based on quality. The environment is often hurried, unorganized and loud. At the desk, I'm usually asked to wait and there always seems to be confusion or hurried chaos. I usually leave underwhelmed and perhaps a bit disappointed ... especially when I get a big-city bill for a less than a big-city experience. Pros: Convenient location; availability of services. Cons: Hurried environment, lacking detailed care. more

Rocco and Rocco Rocks! 11/12/2007

Ive just been to Rocco&Rocco for the first time.I totally recommend Stacy for cut and color.I am blond and she does fantastic highlights and cuts my bangs better than anyone else! I was very happy to find this kind of quality in a little town :-) The only downside is the product they use - its not quite up to other professional product standards (it leaves my slightly hair tangled, whereas other products would do better) but cant complain because the prices at this salon are very reasonable. Pros: Skilled hair colorist and cutters Cons: Salon product could be better more

Best Spa Expirence ever! 1/30/2007

Rocco and Rocco Salon and Day Spa is one of the best places to get a facial or any skin treatment. Haleh (pronounced Holly) makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. She studies your skin and recommends a facial or treatment that is just right for you. Afterward, she will recommend a customized mixture of toners and moisturizers that are just right for your individual skin. The products are expensive but worth it, and will last a long time. And if you are on a budget, Haleh will recommend just a few to get you started, or she may give you a few samples to try if she has some. A Rocco and Rocco Facial is the way to go! I can't wait until my next one! Pros: Family owned, skilled professionals, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Cons: Sometimes you can hear talking in the spa rooms. more
