The land of the orange 3/24/2009

I just started going to Rocco & Rocco this past summer because the salon I go to is in the city and was inconvenient to get to. My boyfriend and his dad as well as a few of my mom's friends all go to Rocco & Rocco and recommended it and the location is ten minutes from my house so I figured I would try it out. I called the salon one afternoon and spoke to a very rude woman who seemed extremely displeased that she had to talk to me. I asked her recommendation for a trendy stylist and she led me to Dana D. I ended up making an appointment for later that day and I was greeted by a less than friendly staff. I couldn't help but notice how chaotic the salon seemed, and how orange all of the employees looked. The girl who washed my hair didn't say one word to me besides introducing herself. Once I was shampooed, I sat waiting in Dana's chair. When she finally showed up she was not at all friendly and didn't say more than a few sentences the entire time, I got the cut I wanted, however the customer service was completely lacking. This seems to be a common thread among my visits to Rocco & Rocco. I have gone back maybe 2 or 3 more times because it is convenient and hey I'll take a pretty good hair cut for $35. The scenario has been the same on every occasion: rude employees that act burdened that they have to check me in and offer me water, shampoo girls that make it very apparent how much they dislike their job, and unfortunately, a hair stylist who can't seem to get rid of me fast enough. If you can look beyond all the attitude from multiple people, lots of waiting around for people to show up, inappropriate work attire, and an extremely loud salon, you can get a pretty decent hair cut for a good price. Pros: Location, Price Cons: Rude Employees, Very Loud, Impersonal Interaction more
