CJ Roberts is the best salon, Lindsey does a great job, I always let her decide how to cut and color my hair and I never been disappointed. Everyone there is very friendly and always makes you feel welcome. If you love to be pampered, then this is the salon for you. more

I never have time to write reviews but my experience at Robert's salon at 66 Leonard, Belmont was a nightmare worth sharing. The curly haired man who cut my hair was rude, unprofessional and didnot care about customer service. 1) When being shampooed, he never asked about water temperaure. On top of that he splashed the water all over my face and kept banging the shower head on my scalp. 2) When done with shampooing, he just tugged at my collar and said ""You come here"" and walked towards the station - all while looking at the front door and not towards me. 3) When I told him I wanted bangs, he asked rudely if I had bangs before. And thats it, no questions about how I wanted them etc. 4) While cutting the hair he was constantly looking at the front desk with a angry face and kept complaining to other co-workers about something. 5) When blowdrying, he just kept slapping the hair brush in random way and the blow dryer was blowing my hair on my face out of control. Never asked me how I wanted it styled. Again, his attention was towards the front door. 6) When i went to pay, a balding man attended me and he was absolutely rude too. No eye contact and rude response. Not sure who they want for clientele. Its definitely not going to be me or my friends. more

Robert was so accomodating with my work schedule and really took the time to give me the best color I've had since moving to Boston and shopping around for 3 years! Definitely going back!! Pros: Listens to client, very accomodating with schedule more

I was looking for a salon for my wedding day in August -- a place that felt comfortable, not rushed, and could take care of a large party that included myself, my mom, two bridesmaids, my sister-in-law, and five nieces ages 5-11. I first stopped there in May, and had several appointments for highlights and cuts before the wedding. Robert did an incredible job with my highlights -- best ones I've ever had. Elizabeth did two trials to make sure we achieved the right look, and managed my cuts to ensure my hair would look just right by the wedding day. When the day came, there were four stylists ready to work with us and the entire party was in and out in two hours. Adults and kids all liked their results, and my hair/veil held well into the evening. I especially appreciated how well they handled the kids, and the relaxed and casual atmosphere put us all at ease on a very busy day. I enjoyed working with them and would recommend the salon for any styling needs. Robert's Salon is wonderful! Pros: Nice atmosphere. Lots of free parking behind Macy's. Good location in the center of town. Cons: I don't have enough time to go as often as I would like. more

Do not go here if you want to keep the length of you hair or get an even hair cut. I went to Elizabeth, Owner of the salon and i told her exactly what i wanted and how other stylists do not listen to me ( I worked at a salon in Florida for a year). And i kept saying long, long angles not side angles, and she said after i complained about the cut, that she was focusing on fullness, and i said wait i asked to keep the length, and she said yeh but its better full, now i have 2-3 inches gone, and the front is about an inch different on each side, so i came home and had to re-cut it myself and it looks way better then it did when i left her chair. Stay away, she was tacky and so was the salon. more

Robert's Salon is pretty inside, but that's about the only thing that is. They are very expensive and the services you receive from there you can get elsewhere for less money. It feels very uptight in there and a wet mop has more personality then the owner. He barely greets me when I walk in there and I had been going in there for a couple of years spending a good amount of money. I have found another salon, their prices are pretty much the same as Robert's, but the atmosphere is 100% better. Cons: everything more

I have to be totally honest here, This Salon is a keeper the friendly staff, serene atmosphere and most of all Excellent Custumer Service... If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience you need to visit Roberts and even ask for him, He worked wonders with my hair down to the very details we discussed and I left feeling like a new woman!!! The reception and shampooing coffee and selection of top magazines, I couldn't have asked for a better place to escape! I love it and I'll definitely be returning there very soon!!! So chweck it out. They do exactly what you want with reasonable prices and the Service like I said is AMAZING!!! Pros: Plenty of parking 1 to 2 hours, and Macy's is right across the street! more

Let me point out my this was my first time at this salon. I was in search for a new colorist. Robert did a fabulous job with my color. It is the best color I have ever had. I am blonde and very particular about my color. Robert was extremely attentive to what I wanted to achieve. He spent time with me dicussing the options, I knew I was in good hands. When he was done, I was totally blown away with the fantastic color he gave me. This is the best my color has ever been. Everyone is extrelmely professional, friendly and just very knowledgeable from the receptionist to the person who shampoos. I was highly impressed with this salon. In my opionion ,this is the best salon in Massachusetts. I will not seek any other salon for color ! more

My mom and I have been going to Betty to get our hair done for about 15 years now. She is a great person who we trust to make our hair look beautiful everytime we leave there. She is always current on the trends and techniques and mixes up the perfect color everytime. She listens to what you want and gives her own great ideas so that your hair always looks its best. We are always getting compliments on the fantastic job she does. Upon entering the salon and seeing Ellen, who is always friendly and welcoming and takes care of all you scheduling needs, to leaving, it is always a positive experience. Every 6-8 weeks we always look foward to seeing Betty and the rest of the staff at Robert's Salon! more

Recently had a great experience at Robert's Salon-I have been going there for years and always been very pleased when Amy does my hair. I just got married and had Amy do my hair as well as my entire bridal party- not only was she very nice and accomadating but she took extra care with my hair as I can be really picky with how my hair looks. I had a fabulous experience with Robert from Robert's. I am VERY hard to please when it comes to coloring my hair and had been shopping for a new colorist for some time. Robert not only listened to me but he nailed the color on the first try. I have been trying to get my hair this color for several years. I had visited multiple stylists but no one could deliver exactly what I wanted. I am so happy with the color I brought my friend in the next day and she too loves her new color. I found this salon by googling best salons in Boston, went in for color, and was really disappointed. I was quoted a different price on the phone, ended up being seen by a different colorist than the one I had the appointment with, and he ended up doing exactly what I asked him not to do in terms of color. He ripped my hair while styling (which is extra - contrary to what i was told on the phone), and basically just dried my hair without any style - I could have done a better job myself. A huge waste of money and time. more

I recently saw Amy on a Saturday to get my hair colored and trimmed. She was very nice to talk to, but for some reason she did not put color all the way up to my scalp on the top of my head. I even noticed this while she was doing the application, and requested that she get the crown of my head really well. She brushed off my request and kept doing it the same way, so I decided to trust her. I like the color, but when I got home I realized I still had 1/4"" to 1/2"" of root on the crown of my head - quite a bit of the ashen brown color of my natural hair is peeking through - especially in my natural part. Very weird. Was she worried that the chemicals would bother my skin? (If so, why would I be getting my hair colored?) Or, was she simply not focused on the task as we chatted (more likely). Anyway, for $175, I feel ripped off - I will have to get the roots done again soon. I will certainly avoid this salon in the future. I am still trying to shake that sinking feeling! I had always heard great things about Roberts. I was hesitant to change hairdressers after going to the same one for many years but finally did it. I couldnt be happier with the cut and especially the color. The hairdresser I had (Amy) was very attentive, offered great hair advice and totally understood and did what I wanted. All the surrounding hairdressers where very nice also. I would recommend Robert's (especially Amy) to anyone. more

When I first started going to Robert's eight years ago, I recieved great haircuts and color. I loved the service as well as my hairstylist. However, the service, and the people are gradually decreasing in likability. I recieved a hair cut from the owner, Robert, asking him to keep it long; just taking of a 1/2 inch for my dead ends. I specifically asked for no bangs due to my frequency at the gym. Before I knew it, my hair was cut off, with my bnags up to my eyes. I actually cried at the sight of my new hair due but unfortunately. I paid $65 to have my hair ruined. Overall, my hair has grown back but I am very hesitant to return to Robert's after all these years. I went to Robert's Salon for the first time over the weekend. I was excited to take my mother and sister as a birthday gift. I was very dissappointed however in the costumer service at the salon. Right when I walked in, the people at the reception area were not very friendly and barely smiled. My mother had to wait 20 min. because the hairdresser was running late. Overall, a very bad experience. more

I have found this salon is very professional and keeps up with the latest styles and trends. They seem to be always going to the hair shows and training in color and new hair techniques.
