Roasted Pepper

We were there friday nite with a party of 14 people. The restaurant was very busy. The wait staff and the food was fantastic. They were very attentive to our needs. My party was so impressed of the food and staff that we booked another party of 70 people in March. I have to say the bill was very reasonable. We brought our own cake in which they have a $8 charge...we felt was very cheap to plate and serve our party...Most places wouldnt even allow us to bring our own dessert or would charge per guest. We loved the martinis too...only $5 for huge one. The staff works so hard for your every need. We just love this restaurant... The bartender makes a fabulous martini. This is and will always be my favorite restaurant in Florida. Thank you roasted pepper for making our party a success!!! more

We are so happy we found this local hot spot. I ordered a churassco with a seafood risotto , it was absolutely amazing. We have actually been to this restaurant before, more than once! Today we were wondering ""where is the Roasted Pepper we remember!"" First we were greated, seated and served drinks, recieved our bread...delicious! It all went down hill from there. Dont get us wrong, our server was very nice/did her job well, very pleasant! We ordered.....meatballs were really good, but when my husband bit down into one of them, he pulled out a long piece of plastic...ok....they subtracted that off our ticket! Nice gesture. Then after 54 minutes my husband had just received his cesar salad and they came out and let us know ""I am sorry mam, we dont have the mozerella to make that particular salad, would you like something else? 54 minutes later! Call me silly but for almost an hour, I had looked forward to it. We started over again with my order. Of course we waited. My husbands meal was good, two pork chops and some spinach! ( but wait til you hear the end regarding he pork chops) My daughter received two filets of chicken and it was so dry, she could barely cut it, but she drugged on! God bless her! I finally received my second choice, which according to words on the menu sounded great. Honestly it was the worst meal that I have had in a long time. The brown gravy on top with the tons of mushrooms all tasted so process and canned to us. It just wasnt good to us at all. And the wine, was toooooo warm, awful taste too. All and all it was a very very disappointing experience. And the poor waitress was left to keep apologizing for the lack of interest the manager took in our experience. We saw him walk around our table, sit with people next to us for minutes at a time, seat people, etc and not once did he come to our table and apologize for our experience. So it was a very negative tasting experience and we will never go back. And to top it all off, my daughter has been sick to her stomach since we left the resturant, within 30 minutes after eating the food. Related, who knows! And another real kicker, the big pork chops my husband ate cost $28.00. I may be wrong, but that sounds ridiculous. So, no we will not return again. It just isn't the same to us. Pros: Rolls! Cons: Everything we experienced! more

Seriously the other reviews on this site are a joke. This is definitely one of the best Italian places around and its been here for as long as I can remember. Its family owned and the atmosphere is really what makes it almost 5 star. BIG PORTIONS!! Trust me on that one. Pros: Large portions Cons: Limited steak items more

The food is fair the portions are huge but the service is horrible. Very poor management and to my surprise I was later told I was speaking with the owner. I planned a party for about 20 people and was promised a private room when I arrived I was told the a/c was broken in the room. Nobody called me, even though I called the day before to confirm and they had my phone number. I asked if I could use the private patio and they said they would check and never returned by the time I asked again the guests began to arrive and it was to late. The waitress never asked anyone I was sitting with if they wanted soup or salad and just assumed everyone wanted soup. One guest never recieved his meal and we asked for it three times. He was told there was a mix up in the kitchen. I was charged $8.00 for serving our cake even though I cut and served the cake myself. I tried to express my concerns to the Manager who never made eye contact with me and at one point even walked away while I was expressing my concerns. She did end up waiving the $8.00 but made me feel like she was doing me a favor. This was a total emabarressment to me and I regret ever having the party there. Saturday Dec 15th, 2007 A Dinner Party of 10. It was a shame that this restaurants tasty food left a bitter taste in our mouths after we received such poor service. Shortly after our group of 10 arrived, we placed & received our drink order. One member of our party asked for "rolls" - was told "we don't bring rolls out until after you have ordered your entree" - should have been our first clue of more problems to come! We ordered 3 appetizers, the first took 45 minutes to arrive - and still no rolls! Five minutes after the first appetizer arrived, our salads arrived & rolls arrived! Five minutes later, our entrees arrived! Still no sight of our other 2 appetizers. We asked our middle-aged waitress to cancel the other 2 appetizres, her response - "Are you sure there not here!" She then went to the kitchen, brought back the other two appetizers! We told her we no longer wanted the appetizers since our main meals had arrived. Her response was that the manager said "they were sorry - these 2 were on the house". One member of our party ordered the "Vito" - a $30 pasta dish with lobster, scallops, & shrimp - sounds good! Could have been, except, It arrived with only shrimp, no other seafood could be found in the dish. When the man pointed this out to the waitress - she ignored him & walked away! When she returned, 10 min later, he told her he should only be charged for a "pasta & shrimp" dish. Needless to say when the check arrived - ALL 3 appetizers were there. The 2 appetizers that were "on the house", were also "on the bill"! When we pointed this out to the waitress & by this time, the manager - their response was, " we didn't charge you for those 2, but did charge you for the 3 you received"! Trust me here - It was not a pleasant sight. It'a a shame that the tasty food was totally ruined by such an incompetent & uncaring wait staff, as well as an apathetic manager. I go to this restaurant at least 3 to 4 times a week. The food is awesome and the service second to none. The previous guy's comments are very ignorant. It is an extremely busy restaurant with everything cooked to order. The Chicken parm is not premade it is made fresh. And I am sure when he went in it was a busy night. I think people with attitudes like his should go back to NY and be miserable there! As far the restaurant is concerned it is one of the best I have ever eaten at. And their menu is much more complex than your typical Italian cuisine. They make wonderful specials with fish, veal or pork chops even buffalo. It is worth the dirve for us - we live in Miami. You will defintely enjoy this place. Pros: Fresh Food Cons: nothing! more

I've noticed quite a few rave reviews by supposed "new yorkers" who love this place. About a week ago I waited nearly 50 minutes for a chicken parmesan. How long does it take to melt a pice of cheese over an already prepared piece of chicken? The service was good in the midst of my long wait. I asked to speak to a manager and none seemed to care. I've been on several sites where other reviewers claim the guy "with the muscles???" helped my son with ice cream." Yippee maybe he should help himself to the oven and cook some chicken. Besides the happy wait staff gives you personal attention, and is family owned. The food is the best italian food we've found in florida since we have moved from New York. When we're there we feel like we're back in a great NY restaurant. We were there this past Saturday nite and Susan was are waitress. She told us about that every Saturday nite they have hat nite and the best hats wins gift cards....well I ran out to my car and put my purple hat on and I won a gift card that paid for my meal..thanks roasted pepper and staff, I'll be back again on a Saturday nite!!!!
