Friendly and honest answers to questions. Did a good job installing my new radiator. My only disappointment is my is that my coolant refill was done with tap water. It says right in my owners manual to use distilled water and Santa Barbara water is known to be high in dissolved minerals. It is partially my fault, I meant to ask ahead of time but forgot. I would recommend service. Just be clear if you want distilled water used in your coolant. more

I have a couple cars for our business. One of our vehicles broke down and triple A towed it to Richards Accurate. They had very fair pricing and fully explained everything in a very easy way to understand exactly what was going on. We have a few vehicles and I'm planning on switching the maintenance on all the vehicles over to Richard's Accurate. more

Although the underlying problem still exists, they fixed what they could and gave me a list of things that need to be attended to. They were very professional, nice and seemed genuinely concerned. more

First time in, transmission mostly fixed, vibration in steering column not tended to (insurance fix), so I brought it back to have them work on the chief complaint. The transmission (a remanufactured transmission) also seems to have a hard-start problem in 1st gear. This is of course frustrating. I feel like after a transmission is replaced, a thorough test drive is in order to test the part. Second time in, they test drove with me, identified the issue, and attempted a fix. Fixed it, but now steering wheel is crooked. I feel like the test drive is not a common thing for a business to perform anymore. Checking work, and having a checklist, is important. Sam is a very nice person to work with, and I'm sure he means well. He is excellent with customer service and gives the shop a positive feel. At this point, I am not sure I can recommend this business to a friend or not. I would need more experience with them to know whether they are honest, high quality mechanics. Quality is my subjective term applied to people who are strongly dedicated to their craft, and who leave the customer surprised and inspired to return. more

Brought car in for servicing. Check engine light was on. Was greeted quickly and professionally. Was then shuttled to work without wait. Later diagnosis revealed a torn vacuum line. Felt the charge was high but then the owner personally summarized where the hose was located and how much of the top-end of the engine had to be removed to locate the broken line, the charge was reasonable. more

Met the owner Mike Bishop. Mike exhibited an unusual amount of warmth & congeniality. When combined with a high level of automotive knowledge & hospitality,its hard to beat. The free car wash in & out,well,its like the proverbial "cherry on top". Keep to your ways Mike. Plus his respect and appreciation of his associates is exceptional in his industry. more
