Review content:
First time in, transmission mostly fixed, vibration in steering column not tended to (insurance fix), so I brought it back to have them work on the chief complaint.
The transmission (a remanufactured transmission) also seems to have a hard-start problem in 1st gear. This is of course frustrating. I feel like after a transmission is replaced, a thorough test drive is in order to test the part.
Second time in, they test drove with me, identified the issue, and attempted a fix. Fixed it, but now steering wheel is crooked.
I feel like the test drive is not a common thing for a business to perform anymore. Checking work, and having a checklist, is important.
Sam is a very nice person to work with, and I'm sure he means well. He is excellent with customer service and gives the shop a positive feel.
At this point, I am not sure I can recommend this business to a friend or not. I would need more experience with them to know whether they are honest, high quality mechanics. Quality is my subjective term applied to people who are strongly dedicated to their craft, and who leave the customer surprised and inspired to return.
