When you first visit the store, everyone, especially Renee herself is so friendly and welcoming and makes you feel great. They are helpful and kind and you really are so happy that you are there. But once you give them your deposit and walk out the door...........it all changes. I felt so wonderful and excited after i ordered my designer gown and gave a $5000 deposit, but my dress came in 2 weeks late and when i came to see it, it was dirty and there were holes in it!!! I quickly realized they were trying to give me a used dress.........everything after that was a bit of a nightmare, i needed to get my lawyer involved and had t call the designer myself because i was so worried I wouldn't get a dress in time for my wedding......in the end the designer came thru and I was a very happy bride with my beautiful gown, but I WOULD NEVER STEP FOOT BACK IN THAT STORE AND WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T AS WELL.......ANYWAY I THINK THEY'RE OUT OF BUSINESS.........AND I THINK THAT;S FOR THE BETTER more

The police seized her entire inventory ... wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, headpieces and veils, tiaras, shoes, gloves, jewelry, garters and hankies. \r \r I guess she didn't pay her bills and it was to satisfy a judgment against her. \r \r I will give her five stars everyone should go out on top of their game :)\r \r more

I traveled to LA from Seattle looking for a magnificent wedding gown and chose to shop at Renee Strauss based on her website and the designers she carries. I ended up choosing a beautiful dress, costing much more than I had budgeted, but was thrilled with the dress. In all the excitement, she made it very clear the dress was not returnable, but that was all that was said. The dress needed alterations, which was clear when I tried it on, and she made a point of saying that the alterations weren't going to be difficult, and that it was a one of a kind dress, so I needed to decide that moment (she also made a point of saying there was another bride who was seriously looking at the dress). I bought it, thrilled at the dress and decided it was worth the unbelievable price of $8700.00. I returned to LA 3 weeks before my wedding to have the dress altered. The seamstress proceeded to tell me the alterations were going to cost $1500.00! I was SHOCKED. Renee Strauss NEVER mentioned alterations were extra. She insisted she would never sell a dress without making that point. I am a business woman, and no matter how excited or distracted I am, I would never overlook a detail of that nature, especially after spending that kind of money on a dress. She is deceitful and dishonest, and the unfortunate outcome is that it has put a damper on one the happiest days of my life, Don't shop here, and if you do, beware. Read the fine print, and pay attention, she'll happily show you dresses way outside your budget. She knows you're a happy, albeit distracted bride, and will take full advantage. more

Stay away!! The employees are rude and so unprofessional. It has the worst selection and the decor looks sooo out dated! There is a reason it's easy to get an appointment, Its always empty! The sales women told my bridesmaids what size they should order in there dresses. When the dresses arrived after 3 months they were HUGE on every one of them. They were not willing to help with the $200 alteration fee and would not take the dresses back even though they were 2 to 3 inches to big all over on all of them. They would not own up to the responsibility they held in ""strongly suggesting"" the sizes that they ordered. I will never recommend anyone to this bridal salon. Go ANYWHERE but here!! I had a fantastic experience selecting my wedding dress. The wedding was beautiful, everything we could have hoped for. Everyone at the wedding LOVED the dress! I'm pretty sure no one will ever top it :) I just got it back from being cleaned and preserved and it looks as good as the day I bought it! I really appreciate Ana taking such care in creating a dress that appeared to be designed just for me. And Renee's positive attitude and honest opinion are priceless. It is very over whelming to be a first time bride with images of dresses swirling around in your head. I had been searching Southern California for a wedding gown for 3 LONG & time consuming months and hadn't been able to find ""The One"" anywhere! That is, until I found Renee Strauss! They have collections that are literally one-of-a-kind couture pieces from all over the world. Each gown is unique & made with the best fabrics available. I am a fabric snob, so compromising quality wouldn't do for me. The service at Renee Strauss was amazing & I was incredibly grateful after my desperate search. I finally found my gorgeous gown here! Thank you St. Regis, Monarch Beach. Both the concierge, as well as the catering department had Renee Strauss highest on their referral list. Now I know why. I had an apt. the day of a designer trunk show. The store was busy and I had a lovely sales lady helping me. I fell in love with the second dress I tried on. Because this was my first day gown shopping I went to Sacks and Mon Amie to see what else was out there. I tried some other beautiful gowns but the one at Renee Strauss stood out. I went back to try it and decided to order it. As soon as I signed the contract what should have been the most exciting purchase turned into a nightmare. Renee turned into a monster with a really bad attitude. I am not from Los Angeles and started asking around and only heard horrible things. I wish I would have asked around before she had my money. Ana was just as awful with attitude. My dress came in stained and dirty. They blamed it on me walking around the carpet in their showroom, but their floor sample was cleaner than my ""new"" dress. There were pin holes along the sides and top as well. They tried to convince me that ""this was industry standard"". I refused to take the dress and insisted on having a clean dress with no holes. They would not guarantee me anything but told me they would send the dress back and call me. No one called me for a week. I kept calling and everytime i did ""they were busy and someone would call me back"". No one ever did. This went on for almost two weeks. I decided to call the designer myself and find out what was going on. The designers office assured me I would have a clean dress and not to worry. I finally got my dress and yes it is beautiful BUT I WOULD NEVER STEP FOOT IN THEIR AGAIN. AND I BEG YOU IT'S NOT WORTH THE WORRY. You can find any dress they have from Mon Amie. They had it all...and free cake samples too!! I brought my WHOLE family there. I was nervous because they tend to get loud! We had a great experience. I was there just to look at gowns and I found out they had bridesmaids and flower girl gowns too. I thought the staff was knowledgeable. I worked with Joanna and Renee for my gown and Blanca for bridesmaids. The prices are right in line with my budget. They asked me what my budget was and I was glad they did because I didnt want to waste my time falling in love with something I couldn't afford. They had some gowns that were 8-10 grand but they have a big selection of gowns under 6. You have to remember you're not going to get Davids Bridal prices in a high end beverly hills store. I have my heart set on a mermaid gown by this Cuban designer Liancarlo for just under $3000. Most people only write reviews when they are angry. The selection of bridal gowns is very small here, and in my opinion the service is not up to par, if you ask me the staff was actually quite fake. I also found it to be over priced. I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from an online company and when they came in they were all damaged. There was no recourse and Renee Strauss was recommended by the manufacturer, they stepped in and took care of 10 bridesmaids, getting the order fixed, and shipping to each bridesmaid. Beware to NEVER order from those online discounters because it is a nightmare and not all companies will step up to the plate and assist the consumers like Renee Strauss did. This past Saturday I brought my dress in for preservation and it brought back great memories. It was packed as usual and Renee was running around as usual, and I just had the best experience. Renee Strauss was a very nice place. They carry a huge selection of really nice dresses. Everybody was friendly and helpful and there was a lot of one on one attention. They never put any pressure on me, and they took care to make sure every detail was taken care of. I had the alterations done by them for $500, since the bottom of the dress is a little unusual and I didn't want to take any chances. They did a great job with only two fittings, and they made sure I knew exactly how to put the dress on properly on the wedding day. All the girls in my family shop together and we came in like a storm to Renee Strauss. Our stylist took us on a tour of the dresses and we found some gorgeous and highly unique things to try on. But one dress was perfect! We went as a team to 3 stores in OC and all the designer boutiques in LA. Saks, too! As soon as I tried on the dress here, I knew it was the one! The jeweled headpieces are totally stunning and the veil Renee picked for me couldn't be more perfect! The store was packed but I received personal attention and a bottle of Renee Strauss champagne to celebrate with. This was a very positive experiece and my family is a tough crowd to please. I bought my gown from Renee Strauss and I could not have been happier. I ended up buying the 1st dress they showed me...after trying on many, and even going to some other bridal shops. The customer service and exceptional selection are top notch. Despite her sucess, Renee is still in the store most days making sure that all brides get what ever their hearts desire. I really liked that she took the time to make sure I was pleased with my dress and with the alterations that were done. I would highly recommend Renee Strauss for any bride! One wedding gown, ten bridesmaids and 6 flowergirls later, I am a happy bride. The saleswoman at Saks told me to go to Renee Strauss because they didn't have all the items I was looking for. I come to find out that Saks is closing the Beverly Hills bridal dept anyway and I am glad to be able to recommend this salon. I found the selection and service excellent. They gave me a break on the bridesmaids by Vera Wang (wouldn't do the same on the gown and flowergirl dresses, though). My experience was positive and I found the owner interested and sincere.
