Move went well but timing off 8/25/2011

Overall our move went well. We are on a tight budget so we decided to go with Regions Van Lines who gave us a reasonable moving quote. Our last 2 moves were performed by two of the big national moving companies so those are the only comparisons we had to go on. Regions did a good packing job as there were no damages. other then being a few days late for delivery we had no complaints. The dispatcher explained the flexible time frame delivery window , which saved us money, not having a guaranteed delivery date. We did save around 20% off our previous moves with the big national companies. We would not hesitate to use this moving company again. We would check the timing more carefully next time is all. more

Worst move iv experienced and careless ignorant workers 8/16/2011

Had a move from FL to VA back in July and I have been meaning to write this a long time ago but the time hasn't been there. So the day of the move they come 5-6 hours late which didn't bother me as much as when my stuff showed up. One of my billiard chairs was in 3 pieces, My TV stand was missing no where to be found supposedly till this day nothing, they took apart my plywood computer desk and had no idea how to put it back together upon dropping my things off and till this day its in my living room in pieces, they barely knew how to put my bed back together and i had to tighten everything my self once they left since they put it together carelessly, and didn't know how to put back my dresser mirror up which i wasn't shocked about with how ignorant they were. Overall worst move i have had and would never recommend using this company for any type of move if you care about your things getting put back together and not arriving broken. I would do it myself next time with how much they also miss quoted me. more

WORST MOVE OF OUR LIFE WITH REGIONS VAN LINES 8/6/2011

I must believe that all those 5 Star rating reviews were done by employees of Regions Van Lines. This has been THE WORST moving experience of our life. In the last 22 years we moved twelve times including three overseas moves and five long distance moves across the nation. Every time we were dealing with professional movers giving us ""binding quotes"" and had hardly any damages. NOT so with Regions Van Lines. We received quotes from five different companies. Regions' quote was the second least expensive quote and they called it a ""binding quote"". However, their binding quote was not binding at all. After everything was packed up we were hit with extra charges of an additional $3,200 for extra items. We only added a King size bed with two night stands to the original order. We were told this would be an additional $400-500, but not an additional $3,200. We could have bought an entire new bedroom set for for that. Regions' ""specialist"" came to our house and saw all rooms and items, but all of a sudden there were extra items and more boxes which would require the extra charge. When their crew came packing they dropped a baby grand although we were told that they are experienced with moving pianos. Hardwood floor was damaged by their crew and they did not even notify us of the damage. I made every possible effort to contact management in charge at Regions but until today don't know who really is in charge or not. It must be that mysterious ""Mr.X"" who owns the company. I was just told by Alan Myers, so called Customer Service manager that he is only the ""messenger"", but my complaints were not heard. When our furniture arrived we were shocked about how they were stacked and loaded in the truck. So far we counted not less than ten (10) damaged pieces of furniture due to careless handling. In all the moves we have done before in our life we had combined two damages in total. With Regions it has been at least ten damages pieces of furniture. One of the members of the crew unloading and unpacking mentioned that he is in the moving business since 25 years and had never seen that many damages due to careless packing and loading on the truck. Even items we were charged an extra fee for ""custom packing"" were damaged... When I called Alan Myers, customer service manager, to complain the line mysteriously went dead, but before it did (or did he hang up on me...??) I heard his comment to one of his co-workers calling me a jerk. A nice way to call your clients after overcharging them Thousands of Dollars. Regions quotes you a competitive rate as bait and once they reel you in they over charge you exceeding the binding quotes of all the leading national moving carriers. DO NOT USE REGIONS and dfo not trust their word nor promises as they must not be trusted. more

Great Move, Careful Packing 8/2/2011

We chose Regions Van Lines for our recent move. Not only was it the best price that we got from four different quotes, the moving services provided by the moving crew was nothing less than first class. The foreman was very thorough and the movers friendly and clean cut. The truck was clean which was also reassuring since our processions were going to be moved in it. There was excellent care in the handling and packing of our items. Everything arrived well at our new home. Our only minor disappointment was that the delivery was a day later than we had hoped for but within the scheduled delivery time frame. If it hadn more

7 total moves: Regions Van Lines was THE WORST 7/19/2011

Contacted RVL rep Anne G in May regarding an upcoming move from FL to SF that was to take place on June 29. I got a written estimate for at $6.39/ft^3 However, I was told that RVL would match the price of a competitor; I got a rate of $4.00/ft^3 from another company. Anne said RVL would not honor the price match because the other company was more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! 6/21/2011

We had an absolutely horrible moving experience with Regions Van Lines for our move from Miami to NYC.\r \r The first issue was the quote. Despite quoting us a very reasonable and competitive price, once all of our boxes were on the truck, we were told that it would be an additional $1500 over the original quoted price. \r \r Second issue -- it took two full weeks to receive our belongings. We were called by the driver to schedule our delivery FOUR SEPARATE TIMES. In fact, we were told four different delivery dates. First it was Monday or Tuesday. Then we were told it was going to be Wednesday, then we were told it would be Thursday and finally we were told on Wednesday night, that it would be Friday. Although the delivery date is uncertain at the outset of the move, these were not estimates at the outset of the move, these were 4 separate dates that were set by the truck driver. We had to coordinate and re-coordinate our schedules each time. On top of this, from what we understand, our move continued to be pushed back in favor of easier moves, not in NYC. \r \r Third issue -- a couple days before the delivery, we were told by the driver that we would have to pay an additional fee because he could not take the 18 wheel truck into New York city -- that there was an ordiance prohibiting him from doing this -- so we would have to pay for him to rent a U-Haul truck and transfer our belongings to the U-Haul truck in order to come into the city. We reviewed the regulations and in fact, this was a lie. While there are certain streets in NYC on which you cannot drive an 18-wheel truck, there is no ""general prohibition"" about driving 18-wheelers into the city. We had actually checked this out in advance of our move and determined that 18-wheel trucks were permitted on our street! Nevertheless, the driver gave us a ridiculous amount of attitude about this and said that if he got a fine, we would have to pay it. Essentially, we were forced to pay this extra fee. \r \r Finally, once the driver arrived with our belongings, he told us that the walk from the curb to our apartment door was considered a ""long haul"" and that we were required to pay an additional fee for anything over 75 feet from the curb -- and according to his calculations (which was really just his estimate) we had ""three"" additional 75 feets of distance from the curb to our apartment (which is completely inaccurate). We told him that we never agreed to pay this fee (directing him to our signature next to a statement that said that we had a $0 balance due upon arrival). But he refused to continue with our move and kept saying that he was ""not doing our move for free."" Of course, this made no sense -- as what were we paying all of this money to the company for?!! We called the driver's boss and his boss told us that he would have the driver dump our belongings on the curb and drive away, unless we agreed to pay this extra fee. Again, we were forced to pay yet another additional fee. \r \r Whatever you do, DON'T USE REGIONS VAN LINES. They are dishonest and their drivers and transportation company are even worse. We ended up paying over $5,000 for this moving service, which is over $2,000 over the estimate. \r more

The Moving Company to Use 4/27/2011

From my experience using a professional moving company is the best way to move. In past I have moved myself and used the “man with a van” type service but it is risky to say the least.\r \r Booking my move was painless, very easy and straightforward. The seasoned sales reps of Regions Van Lines make it easy as it is all explained in detail. It truly is a sales team as I had a question after booking my job and another sales person was able to help me. On the day of the move, I got a call about 30 minutes before they arrived. The high rise building we were moving from you have to walk a block underground from the elevator before you get to the loading dock. There was no extra charge for this long distance. Plus none of the movers openly complained, they performed their job very professionally. They were done moving us out in 2.5 hrs and they moved us in to our new apartment (another high rise but with a much better layout) in about 1.5 hrs. \r \r In the end our total for the day was exactly what I was quoted. Sure it might be more expensive than the “man with a van” or doing it yourself, but these movers are worth every penny. I didn't have to lift a box or anything. Just kinda sit back, watch them move everything out, take apart the furniture and wrap it up and reassemble at the new place. \r \r I would definitely use this moving company again!!!\r more

Kept Us Informed 3/23/2011

We relocated using regions van lines. The communication was great and kept us informed of every possible scenario and charge up front which most companies did not tell us. The sales rep informed us on how to prepare for our move which was extra helpful and I would like to thank this moving company for their excellent services. The moving crew were very nice guys and professional. The move went great and we would definately use them again and recommend them to any folks in search of a moving company. more

Pleasure to deal with 3/10/2011

These Movers did a great job. They were on time, polite and worked hard for us. They didn't break anything and helped us take apart and reassemble some of our furniture. It was great to see conscientious people who took their job seriously. We heartily recommend Regions van Lines to anyone moving.\r \r more

third move was the charm 3/4/2011

So this was my third time using movers in the last two years. This was by far the best experience. I received follow-up calls to confirm my information with them. The movers came early. They wrapped all of my furniture carefully. I was really nervous about my plasma TV and that went so smoothly. The guys were all super nice. They all really showed initiative, and I never felt that they were abusing the fact that I am charged at an hourly rate. You can’t beat the service you get from Regions Van Lines. I recommend these movers to anyone needing to move. more

Easy Move 2/15/2011

My recent move was easy. I hired Regions Van Lines and was happy with the outcome of this move. The movers arrived on time to load my belongings, they worked very hard and wrapped all my large furniture in moving pads. After they were done, the packaging looked professional, defiantly not something that I could do myself. The delivery took place within 8 days, which was ok as they did advise me that it could take that long so I was prepared and had with me everything I needed to use in this period of time. Also the dispatcher kept me informed of the progress of where my items were at any given moment. Everybody in this moving company were very nice and professional, all my belongings were accounted for and in good condition. I highly recommend these movers when needing to move. more

Region Van Lines Service Was Excellent! 2/10/2011

Searching on the Internet for potential movers is a very worthwhile effort. The search directed us to Regions van Lines. We took numerous bids for our move. While theirs was not the lowest bid, the lowest bid was from a poorly rated moving company. In the final analysis, we were very pleased with choosing these movers. Their response to all our questions and concerns were fast and clear. The moving team was very experienced and kept close communications with us prior to the scheduled pick-up until the delivery. This moving company provided us with an excellent moving service and continual peace of mind! Highly recommended! more

Awesome Miami Movers 1/25/2011

These movers are awesome!!!!!I I don’t mind giving this moving company 5 stars. The guys did the whole move in one hour less time than estimated. There were no extra charges. This move cost less than I thought it would. I highly recommended Regions Van Lines! ... more

Late But GREAT 1/20/2011

Outside of being late because of an earlier move and the lousy Miami traffic, the service was excellent. Quick and careful got my move done in the time needed to get to my new apartment. The movers were so good they got the job done fast enough to stay within the minimum charge. Regions Van Lines is number one by me; I highly recommend them and will use them in the future. more

Unexpectedly Careful Movers 1/4/2011

My husband and I just want to post this to express our thanks to Regions for our recent move. The foremen who acted as head packer did things in packing our items no one else has thought of doing to ensure the safety of our goods. The whole crew was above expectations. Definite recommendation to anyone moving in South Florida. Thanks again more

Great Move-Bldg to Bldg-I'll use again 12/1/2010

Great Job-Fair Price 11/18/2010

Every so many years, usually with a rent increase, I need to move. With each new place I acquire more stuff. My collection of stuff keeps growing. The move keeps growing in scope. First I could move with a coupla car trips with friends. Then it was the old ""man with a van"" which graduated to ever increasing moves with unlicensed box trucks with two guys and pizzas for a tip. Something usually gets broken, it takes longer than expected and in the end I must haggle over the final price. After a few of these types of moves, I decided to go with professional movers. I looked online for people really in the business of moving, licensed, etc. In my research online I came across Regions Van Lines. What a difference to use a real company. Vicky, my sales rep was real personable and detailed their approach to the move. I didn't quite have everything ready when the movers arrived but very professionally they finished what needed to be done and got me move to my new apartment. At my new apt the elevator could only be reserved for certain hours. I was nervous getting in during that time frame but Regions got me in with no problems. This was my first move without anything broken or any building problems. The time and price went over what initially thought but that was due to me not being ready. In the end it was a fair price for a great job. I would recommend Regions to anyone and hope to use them next time I need to move. more
