Until You can STOP the idiots FROM PLAYING football in the parking spaces, I am NOT going back!! This used to be a great place to go, and I along with my kids was a frequent customer, but NOW you CANT park because of all the IDIOTS they are letting play football in the parking stalls besides that its disruptive and noisy, i just want to park my vehicle, get out my chairs, and watch a QUIET movie play with my sons! i do NOT want to watch a bunch of idiots trample over our blankets and run into our vehicle because the management at redwood drive inn will do nothing to stop it! Last time we were there, there was like a bouncer guy who stopped our SUV and other SUV's from parking in the front row (which was fine as this obstructs the view) but he could have said PLEASE (A FORGOTTEN word in today's vocabulary) and he could have done something about all the people running up and down the parking stalls playing catch football which obstructed us from parking anywhere! INFURIATING to say the least! Besides that when we finally could find a place to park the people who parked right by us, took up our parking space and their with their chairs! thats total crap. I paid for a stall and all my sons i should at the very least NOT BE BOTHERED BY A FOOTBALL OR PEOPLE IN MY PARKING SPACE, TRAMPLING OVER OUR BLANKETS AND HITTING OUR SUV WITH THEIR DIRTY HANDS AND FOOTBALLS! INFURIATING! more

Be prepared to wonder how your movie ends..... 9/22/2010

I recently went to the Drive-in. I was very excited. The drive-in isn't an everyday visit my friends and I are able to make. We successfully completed the first film, although others were flashing their car lights at the screen and making all sorts of noise. We began to watch the second film. Not half way through our film they shut everything down and announced over the radio ""That will conclude our showings for this evening."" Imagine our surprise during the climax of the film when they just shut the theater down. Not 5 minutes later an employee came to kick us out. We were in the process of cleaning up and folding our blankets. So not only did we feel unjustly treated and offended but we are left to wonder how Alice survived the Zombie attack or if she defeated the Evil Umbrella Corporation. All the pros of bringing your own treats and controlling the sound won't make up for not seeing the end of your film. BEWARE! more

Stepping back to a more comfortable time while on a budget 8/2/2008

Redwood Drive-In provides a safe haven for families and movie nuts alike. As long as you work and play well with others you're welcome. There's always a police car on site in case someone doesn't know how to play nice. It's like stepping back to a gentler time where families aren't nickled and dimed to death at concession stands. You CAN bring your own popcorn! You CAN bring a cooler of soda-pop or Kool-Aid for your whole family! You can even bring Grandma's Geritol and nobody is going to tell you that you must buy their products. I would imagine this place would be ideal for people with Diabetes or Hypoglycemia (SP?) What's more, lawn chairs and blankets ARE permitted! Spend $60 at Harbor freight on a power inverter and you can use your electric grill for dogs and burgers. (Just be sure that your battery is up to the task. I bring along a deep cycle marine battery that I use for tailgating.) I find that it's best to do any real cooking between features so that there's no smoke from the grill drifting toward the screen. You might find happy smiling people looking at you and asking if they can throw their dogs on your grill too but it's not a bad way to meet people. About the only downside that I see for some people is the cash-only policy. Admission is $7/person. If you bring/make your own food and drinks then that's the only expense. That won't even buy you a large popcorn at most movie theaters. Pros: Price, comfort and family friendly atmosphere Cons: Cash only more

NICE PLACE TO GO TO AND RELAX WHILE YOU WATCH A MOVIE 6/23/2008

Its a nice place to come once in a while and relax in your own car or by your car. Come a little early and avoid the lines--they are still better then going to a cinimark. Its $7 a person not $6 like it says in the adds. It UNFORTUNATE that its cash only--and if your one of those people that come in after the movie started PLEASE TURN YOUR LIGHTS OFF!!!!!! Pros: GOOD PLACE TO GO RELAX AWAY FROM ALL THE LINES IN THEATERS Cons: CASH ONLY more

You could be Better! 6/21/2008

I'd liken this bunch to a group of "Carnies" running a drive-in. This theater does not let you travel from screen to screen to create a more enjoyable evening for the family. At times they will show a popular PG movie with an "R" rated flick to move families out. Rather than have a double feature for "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" they kept it by itself to maximize profits. The Manager's excuse was," It's 122 minutes long!" Huh? when the credits ended after this "marathon" viewing, three other films were still playing. To add misery to woe, they will not let you grill hotdogs before hand, an open flame may catch the asphalt on fire. The only reason this place is getting three stars instead of one is that it is still a drive-in, and even this experience is a good one if you have never been to other drive-in theaters before as I have. Pros: it's a drive-in theater, go to another if you can, if you've never been to one you will enjoy this experience Cons: get there early, be prepared to see only one film, bring your food prepared more

Great experience 5/23/2008

I love going to this Drive-in theater, there arent many available anywhere anymore and I think that we should feel lucky having it in our area! It is a lot of fun and a different experience. Tickets arent expensive, but I suggest you bring blankets and chairs! Or a truck, because then you can be up higher and also be able to lay down and watch the movie. Its such a fun experience, and I am actually going on a date there tonight! Im very excited, its a real treat Pros: Can always find parking, good movie selection Cons: Farther to walk to bathroom depending on where you are, need to be responsible for your own comfort more

BRING ON SUMMER 2008! 5/20/2008

I'm suprized at the Race comment! My friends and family and I have been going in large groups for the last 3 years. ME and my family are Black. My friends, latin, black, white, asian, you name it... we all go and VERY often during the summer, about twice a month. WE LOVE IT! It's like tail gating with a HUGE movie screen. I feel bad for anyone who doesn't have a great time. We're ANXIOUS to start the summer 2008 season. Do arrive early and make sure your party is there at a decent time as you cannot "save" spots. Bring on summer '08 more

WORST Place EVER! Don't take your KIDS!! 7/9/2007

This is the worst business to take your children to. It is predjudice against other races - and willingly changes the ""posted"" guidelines to their benefit as well as to the benefit of their ""chosen"" races. I had the worst experience and the management was intolerable. THIS WAS THE MOST UNJUST establishment I have ever been to. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT - IN FACT I BOYCOTT IT!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!!!! more

Best movie experience on the planet! 5/4/2007

Nothing compares to a double feature at the drive-in. No screaming kids. No loud talkers. No feet in the back of your head. And no one with gas in the seat behind you. And you can bring your own food and beverages. ;) Pros: Comfort of your own car. more
