My favorite view restaurant 3/4/2005

I do have to admit I have never eaten downstairs. I found the prices more reasonable in the cafe upstairs, and the deck is awesome! I think this is the best waterfront dining in Seattle, hands-down. If you have a visitor from out of town, want to have a leisurely lunch with your friends or impress a date, take them to Ray's! The food is always awesome and the service good. It is definitely worth the wait on a sunny day! Pros: VIEW, FOOD, CONVENIENCE/LOCATION Cons: CROWDED more

Great food...upstairs! 1/6/2005

I like Ray's, I've eaten here a dozen times...but my favorite part about it is eating upstairs! It's much more casual than the more formal dining downstairs...I've never made a reservation and always found a table! (I skip weekends there). Always had great service and it's about half the price than downstairs! more

Right from the off, Rays was amazing. A gorgeous seeting as you walk in ith friendly hosts and a comfortable yet formal table. They have a great menu and great dessert menu as well. The waiter was exeptional. The food was absoutly delectible! As soon as i saw the entrees, I was impressed. Very rich and vibrant color. PLus is was very very good. I was there with a 12 and 13 year old as well and even they loved it! Also a gorgous view of the sound, I was fortunate enough to get a window table. Pros: Good parking, nice view, origanal more

Great Date Spot 5/22/2004

For 24 yrs, this has been one of our top 3 favorite seafood restaurants in Seattle. Romantic ambiance, excellent food and great view. On a warm, sunny day, it's fun to sit outside on the upstairs deck here--savoring a great meal and drinking a fine glass of white wine. ... Ahhh! Pros: Beautiful, Great view more

All about the view 4/13/2004

This place can't be missed if the weather's nice and you want an outdoor deck with an amazing view. But what you sacrifice is the service and food. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks because the bartender was "slammed", but the restaurant and bar wasn't even full! And how long does it take to pour a beer? It also took a longer than average time to get our meals. The rockfish I ordered was good, but was so little that my companion (who ordered the same) was done in 10 minutes, and I was still hungry after I finished. I'll go for drinks on the deck, but nothing more. Pros: view more

Sunset View 2/11/2004

Everytime I visit Seattle, I try to get to Ray's Cafe. The sunset view of Puget Sound is amazing, especially if you are sitting outside on the deck. Very charming when blankets are brought out for the chilly temperature as the sun sets. Food is your basic seafood fare. Price and portion size are great values. Service is very low key but attentive. Pros: Great View more

just keeps getting better 6/22/2003

I've been going to Ray's for over 10 years now and everything just keeps improving. The food is classicly prepared and of extremely high quality. The service is professional yet fun. And the view is like no other. They even have a cookbook out now that stands above the best. The dining room is a great place to celebrate or entertain out of town guests. Pros: wine list, food, service Cons: crowded more

Mother's Day Flop. 5/12/2003

When you send $250 for dinner without alcohol you expect a lot more than Ray put out on Mother's Day. Maybe Ray has no Mom. First, when the waiter spills the Equal packet, he could at least clean it up. Next the House salad should be torn not cut up. Lastly and the ultimate sin over cooked Salmon and Prawns.... Not even close Ray... Pros: View, Scallops, View Cons: Wait staff, Over Cooked, Over Priced more
