I stopped going to her, because she doesn't respect my time. I had to wait for at least an hour (and usually longer) for every appointment. When I said something to her, she said that she needs to take whatever time is necessary with each patient - don't I want the same for me? If that's the case, then schedule accordingly. Making people wait endlessly for an appointment that ends up taking 5 minutes is just plain rude. Also, she doesn't return phone calls, and if you keep leaving messages, the office girl will tell you they already have the message, and will call you back when the doctor has time to look at it. 10 days and counting on the last prescription refill - after they were faxed 3 times by the pharmacy. If you want a doctor who cares, responds to phone calls, refills you prescriptions when you need them, try someone else. I think she's just getting too old, slow, and cranky to provide adequate care anymore. more

NEVER on time, NEVER listens to patient's symptoms thoroughly, ALWAYS WHIPS out prescription pad, does not like to discuss alternatives, gets defensive when treatment is questioned. Staff is rude, disorganized and seem uneducated in medical field. Overall bad office - sicker than when I went in for treatment. WOULD NEVER EVER recommend to anyone!!!! I am a 34 year old male and went to see her for a new prescription. She was very knowledgeable about how my different medications would interact with each other. She seemed genuinely concerned for my welfare (somewhat rare for doctors) REALLY took the time and made sure all my questions were answered. Looks you in the eyes as she talks with you. Very happy with my quality care and would recommend her for a general practitioner to anyone. She is probably in her 50's, but she is in command of all her information and didn't have any of the doctor ego that I so dislike. When I was first seeing Dr. Ratner, I thought she was very compassionate and competent. She probably still is, but she often gets behind by an hour or more, and then when she sees me, it's in a rush, and I feel like she's trying to hurry me out of the office. I don't feel as if she listens quite as well as I would like. She's good about explaining things that are not clear, and writes down her orders so I'll remember them. However, she doesn't want to condsider any types of alterntive medicine, such as chiropractic, massage, or accupuncture, and doesn't like her orders to be questioned.
