Randy's Steakhouse

One of the worst disappointments we have encountered! There was nothing good about this restaurant. The ambiance, food, service, price-ALL BAD! The four of us were the only ones there at 6 pm - that should have been a clue. We had to ask for condiments, - i.e.- salt & pepper, and remoulade sauce that should have been served with our appetizer. The steaks were the worst we have had. Service was slow, which is hard to understand since we were the only ones there. Even the sides were bad. The creamed spinach that was highly recommended by our waitress, had so much gooey cheese on it that it made it unappetizing. When receiving the check, we had been charged for 2 bottles of wine instead of one. Overall rating should be ZERO! more

We dined at Randy's the other evening and were blown away by how wonderful it is. We especially enjoyed the person touch of Randy himself greeting each one of his guest. The servers we also very attentive and the food was even better than what we had expected. We will not be keeping this a secret. Randy's has a number of private dining rooms,(it is located in an old historic home) and several fireplaces. They also had live entertainment in the bar. My wife and I enjoyed and evening of dancing. This restaurant rates right up there with some of the great steakhouse in Texas. more

Don and Kathy Burks, the force behind the scenes at Randy's Steakhouse know how to have a party. Randy's is without doubt one of the best steak houses in Texas. And that is not a small fete considering the size of the state and the amount of people in the steak business. But Randy's is a special place. Housed in a historic building in the center of downtown Frisco, the boom-town of suburban Dallas, Randy's caters to couples, businessmen and visitors from across the country. The steaks are as tender as you'll find anywhere and the wine list is one of the best in the metropolitan Dallas area. Don Burks takes his wine seriously and his cellar, which is a real cellar, kept under lock and key, is impressive. It is Wine Spectator stuff. But, if wine isn't what makes you happy, Randy's has a full bar with great entertainment on weekends. The menu is reasonably priced and the atmopsphere is comfortably elegant, but not stuffy. And, don't think they forgot to take down the Christmas tree, they keep it up all year and decorate it according to the seasons. more
