APPALLING TREATMENT. I'm honestly shocked this place is still open. After our dog got HIT BY A CAR we took him to Webster. He had terrible wounds and was bleeding all over the place. We were all very much in shock. When we walked in there was absolutely no sense of urgency. They put us in a room with our dog and made us wait for OVER AN HOUR. We had no idea of his condition, no one looked at him or checked him out. When we asked a nurse how he was doing she said ""I don't know, I'm not a vet."" After checking in with the nurses three times a vet finally came in and looked at him. He said ""he looks stable to me, but before I can do anything to treat him I need to get an estimate for your costs together."" He was still bleeding all over the office, no one had even bothered to put gauze or a bandage on his wounds or give him anything for the pain. At that point we just walked out, and took our dog to Midwest Veterinary Referral Clinic. Luckily he was ok and had no internal damage (he luckily survived the one hour wait) but I cannot believe this is the standard of care at this place. I hope no one ever has to go through what we did. Please don't ever take your pets here. Midwest Vet Referral in Chesterfield is an amazing place. OH and the best part - when we were walking out the nurse yelled after us - ""WE WILL SEND YOU A BILL."" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! more

The last time I was in with my little dog we had to put him to sleep. I couldn't have asked for more compassionate people. Although I had come by myself the vet who took care of Oliver (itty bit to us) asked if I had family at home. That really said a lot of the people you have there and meant so much that you actually were concerned about me. Thank you again for your love at that time. more

I've taken my cats here for years, and I love it. They have AWESOME hours, and are very friendly and accomodating. It doesn't seem to take forever in the waiting room, and the TV's are helpful to distract from the waiting anyway. It's a very easy process to call in and get an appt, and they were very helpful the one time I had an emergency and had to bring my kitten in a few years ago. (She died, and even though the doctor didn't know why she died without doing an autopsy, they were very friendly and even sent me a condolence card) I absolutely love their evening hours. SOO helpful. As for prices, I guess it's normal- I don't really know any different. I suppose I don't experience the ""personelness"" feeling where ppl recognize you, but I'm okay with that. I see a different vet every time- but each one is friendly. So that makes it okay for me. I suppose it just matters whether that is important to you. more

We had our 2 dogs teeth cleaned and we were really happy with the price and care for them. Their teeth look great and we have had people comment on how clean they look. more

We have been bringing our two dogs and several cats over the years to Webster Groves. I like the fact the vets do not sugar coat the facts, but are still gentle in delivering them, such as when we had a cat that had a very unusual auto immune disease and a cat that we found with a broken hip. They always take us right away if an emergency came up, and thank God they have long hours for those emergencies. They have taken great care of our ""zoo"". more

I had a wonderful experience and so did my dogs. They had their teeth cleaned 2 days ago. I was allowed to leave a blanket and put them in the same cage so they could comfort each other. I checked in on them after dropping them off in the morning and the vet tech was very reassuring. The doctor called me a 2p to tell me the the dental cleaning went well and they were fine. He took the time to discuss their teeth and informed me Dachshunds are prone to bad gums. When I picked them up tails were wagging and they looked happy and well taken care of. And their teeth were sparkling :) more

I do not know why everyone is rating this hospital under 5 stars.\r \r I have had great informative visits with my dog's vet, Dr. Tate.\r \r Dr. Tate is very personable, compassionate, and eager to listen/answer your concerns or questions.\r \r The office is not a palace, or a marble fortress...It is a functional structure made for animals, not to visually please human beings.\r \r There is ample seating for owners and pets, and even a section for the ""anti-social"" doggie.\r \r I am bringing my new puppy here, as I already have my eldest dog as a PT for 2 yrs now.\r \r I plan on getting my boxer's ears cropped here as they thankfully offer this rare service (thank you WG hospital).\r \r Dr. Thomas is the surgeon available for cropping, you must purchase a ""puppy package"" to get the cropping done.\r \r My puppy's ears came out wonderful. Show-quality.\r \r My dogs are my angels, do you think I would bring them to a dive?\r \r Do not whine about prices, if you cannot afford to have a pet, then you should not have one. It is a luxury to own a pet...it is like a child...not cheap, so get over it! more

been going to WGAH for over 40 years 8/1/2011

Dr. Angela is one of the most caring vets I have ever been to. I have been going to WGAH for over 40 years. She has helped me with my little Boxer who is in severe pain from a back problem and now with a foot problem. She really cares and will do anything she can to help the pet. She is tops in my book and I give her as many stars as I can. She is the only reason I continue to go there. The front staff are way to stressed out, they are nice but really frustrated. Not sure why. Thank you Dr. Angela more

Was able to walk right in to the pharmacy, seen right away 7/29/2011

Came in to buy a capstar tablet. Was able to walk right in to the pharmacy, seen right away. However, no information was given as to how to give the pill, side effects, or tips on dealing with the fleas until I specifically asked. I was hoping that, just like a pharmacy for people, this information would be voluntarily and eagerly disclosed. more

recommend them to all my friends. 7/20/2011

We have used Webster Groves Animal Hospital for the last 3 years. The staff has always been busy but friendly. We always see the same doctor, but that is because we ask for him. Last year our cat was hospitalized for 5 days. He was taken care of like king! Every day when we would visit the techs all knew our boy cat and would offer us words of comfort. He fully recovered and is doing great! I have compared their prices on shots and they are very reasonable. I won't go anywhere else and recommend them to all my friends. more

Great hours! 7/19/2011

I have a miniature schnauzer that I took to Webster Groves Animal Hospital once for her yearly shots and check-up and once to get her teeth cleaned. First of all, the hours are great. I felt good knowing that I had an animal hospital nearby that I could use in case of an emergency, but also it was easy to get an appointment with my work schedule. I forgot what doctor I had, but she was very knowledgeable. I was concerned about Annie's (the dog) drinking. She drinks A LOT of water and I was told by my previous vet that she probably had a kidney infection, there would be tests run and drugs involved. The vet at WGAH said she was fine and made a note in Annie's chart to give her extra water after her teeth cleaning. Turns out, there is no kidney infection and I'm glad she saved me the hundreds of dollars of testing and drugs when my dog is just really thirsty. I took Annie in to a couple different vets to get prices on her teeth cleaning. WGAH was definitely the cheapest AND they didn't have to pull any teeth. Other vets said they would have to pull at least 4 teeth...without even looking in her mouth first. I live in Chicago now and wish I could come back to WGAH for my dog's check-ups. It's so hard to find a reasonably priced vet that is open outside of the 9-5 hours! more

Dr. Britt is extremely knowledgeable 7/15/2011

My pomeranian has been going to WGAH since I've had her. Dr. Britt is extremely knowledgeable and does all she can to ensure my dog is calm and comfortable during checkups. Other reviewers have stated that they see a different vet each visit, but you can specify which vet you would like to see when you set up your appt. My dog has her annual checkups, her spay surgery, dental cleaning, and Xrays when she broke her leg all at WGAH. When she required surgery to repair her leg that could not be done at WGAH, they offered a referal to a surgeon in the area (who was fantastic). The hrs can't be beat - they are open until 2AM during the wk and are open 24 hrs on the wkd! Pricing is def competitive - their annual checkup package is reasonable and also offers 10% off preventive meds like Heartgard, etc. more
