Best

A huge relief to find a good vet in my area. My dogs are very nervous but Dr Marks and his staff made a calming environment for them to recieve wonderful care.

Worst

The only reason they rate more than one star is because the doctors really are good at what they do. Sadly, all of that competence is overshadowed by a very unpleasant office man...

MY CATS LOVE DR. NIC 11/17/2009

Dr Nic. is a wonderful vet. She spends a lot of time in the exam room patiently listening to my concerns and answering my questions. When I had to put my cat down she was so comforting and compassionate. My phone calls are returned promptly and the staff are very kind and eager to help. more

The only reason they rate more than one star is because the doctors really are good at what they do. Sadly, all of that competence is overshadowed by a very unpleasant office manager, and a policy of tacking on questionable "required" tests and procedures at every visit. I rarely escape spending an extra $200 I hadn't planned on at each and every visit, due to some raft of "overdue" tests or procedures. I take my dog there several times a year, and yet, I'm still always "overdue" for something. The office manager makes you feel horrible about the care you're providing for your pet. I have found myself delaying care because I so dread the emotional browbeating I'll have to take as we go over the huge list of procedures the dog "has to have" this time. I have stuck with them because I want my dog to have consistent care, but I have to say that now that I'm $1,000 in to treating his latest ailment, I'm finally ready to switch. I have never had a vet try so hard to up-sell medical procedures. My pediatrician doesn't demand as much care as these guys. I won't be back. Pros: Doctors are competent Cons: "Overdue" tests and procedures required at every visit more

The BEST!! 3/12/2009

Im not sure what the bad reviewer under me experienced. But I have never had anything but amazing service at Rancho Park. I take my pets there regularly because Dr Marks there is one of the only ones I know that actually spend the time to sit with me and explain everything they are going to do and why (plus there's never any pressure to go through with anything I dont agree with). I live in Orange county and do not mind the drive because I know my pets are in GREAT hands. The staff has always been super-friendly and always explained my options to me, and different things I could try, and I never once felt rushed or pushed aside so that they could close. Actually on mutliple occasions, they've stayed late for me so I could pick up my pets, and they help me out to my car with everything. Even when my dog got really sick, I called in and they took me within the hour and took care of him till he was better than ever. They've always answered all my questions, and really made me feel like I was a personal friend and cared for my pets like they were their own! Honestly, Rancho Park is the best! more

Worst boarding, horribly overpriced, and unscrupulous! 12/23/2008

They seemed competent enough, even though veterinary services were overpriced. But I boarded my 2 dogs there for a week and it cost more than the hotel room at the 5 star hotel in Cancun! They bathed the dogs on the final day (and charged me an extra $150.00 without telling me in advance) but did not brush them out, so I had to take my car in for detailing - it was so covered in fur we couldn't sit in it or breathe! And they charge by weight, so even though both dogs were shoved into the same size box, the large dog cost over twice as much. Ridiculous. Like I said, they will find every way they can to rip you off. DO NOT BOARD HERE! Pros: None Cons: Overpriced, unscrupulous, price gougers. more

Quality Care for an affordable price 10/27/2008

I took in a rescue dog and she was in really bad shape. I hadn't had a pet in a long time and needed a referral. My friend recommended Rancho Park Veterinary and I have been so pleased with their service. more

I took in a rescue dog and she was in really bad shape. I hadn't had a pet in a long time and needed a referral. My friend recommended Rancho Park Veterinary and I have been so pleased with their service. I love that they have late hours on Thursday and that I can make an appt early in the morning, drop my dog off on my way to work and pick her up on my way home. The doctors have been great and she is now a very healthy dog. I had been buying dog food from the grocery store and she had all kinds of stomach ailments. The receptionist recommended a prescription dog food and I saw immediate results. This is a terrific place to take your dog or cat. more

Best Veterinary Care in Los Angeles 10/27/2008

The doctors that treat my pets must be as good as the doctors that treat me or my children. I tried many veterinary practices before deciding to stay with Rancho Park Veterinary Clinic and have been going there for many, many years with my cats and two dogs. I don't understand people who think that their pet should have a lower standard of care just because he/she is an animal. I know that when I bring my pets to Rancho they will be treated with the same quality care and concern as I would expect from my internist. I am very pleased with all of their services and highly recommend this veterinary practice. Pros: Great parking, clean and welcoming office Cons: Traffic to get across town more

We lost our pet under their irresponsible care! 7/27/2008

They claim to be a hospital, but failed to provide round the clock care for our poor dog when he was very sick. If you find your pet ill, be sure to take them somewhere else as they didn't notify us that she would be left unattended on an IV all night. They were not at all compassionate or caring and only were concerned what credit card we would use to pay! We have two other pets and would never go back. We wondered why there was always parking and an appointment available...many seem to stay away from this place. Pros: Convenient parking and appointments Cons: In it for the business, not for caring for animals more

Only the best for my critters... 4/16/2008

I am a first time cat owner. When I first got my cats, I took them to two other clinics... Then Rancho Park was recommended to me, and I now travel farther because I am so happy with everything from when I walk in the door to when I leave. Pricing is comparable to other clinics, and the drive is worth the better service, and peace of mind that my cats are getting the best, and from doctors who really care. The people at the front desk are warm and friendly and are truly concerned about my cats. The doctor treats my cats as his own. The office is clean and everyone is personable and caring....and with pets, that is what I want. I have recommended them to others, and will continue to praise the quality of care, integrity of the entire staff and assurance I feel when I leave. .. with happy cats! Pros: quality of care, integrity more

Qualified doctors, but no compassion and lots of $$$ 3/24/2008

I took my cat to this clinic for five years only because I wanted to give her consistent care. I can't complain about the doctors, because they seemed very compitent. What I can complain about is that I got a stomach ache every time I went, knowing that I would spend hundreds more than I planned to. This vet charges you for everything they possibly can. They gave my cat a five minute consultation before sending us over to the vetrinary hospital, and even though they couldn't help us, they charged me 60$. I almost never spent less than 200$ for visits to this vet. The worst part was that the office manager is a horrible woman who is rude and uncaring. She is patronizing and sarcastic, and she will make you feel guilty if you don't want a certain service for your pet or if you can't make it in on the exact date she thinks you should. She made me feel guilty because I got saline solution for my cat through my father, who is a physician. This is the exact same solution used on people, but she made me feel like I was cheap for saving the 40$/bag they were going to charge me. When my cat got sick, she said sarcastically, ""Well, maybe your dad can help you out this time!"" She is heartless and I promise that you will have to deal with her if you go to this vet, and you won't enjoy it. My cat passed away and the only thing I can thank Rancho for is referring me to an amazing vetrinary emergency hospital that gave my cat great care in her last moments. Please don't take your pets to Rancho unless you like paying too much, feeling guilty, and possibly crying. more

The mid-age kinda red head lady ruins everything, she is so rude 2/19/2008

There is mid-aged lady, the rudest lady I have ever met in my life, she is the most negative person ever. Even though my puppy is so sweet, she never shows any kindness, except criticism of my puppy and me, telling me what kinda of diseases or sickness my puppy might have... without knowing anything about my puppy, or polite greetings. She also bashes where I got my puppy. I was shocked her rudeness. I went back to see the vet few times, but very disappointed. Some of the vet are very friendly, but each time I have a good impression of the place, the same mid-aged lady ruins it completely because she always makes some comments before I walk out of the office. She is so rude, and negative, which makes me never want to take my puppy back to that office again. How could this mean lady work there if she shows no love, but rudeness, crudeness. I really don?t understand why she is working there? Is she one of the vet?s wife??? I don?t know, but whatever, I refuse to go back there because that lady. What a B#***ch!!!!! more

Nice veterinary office but ridiculously overpriced 10/17/2007

I brought my dog in for a mild skin condition and left with a bill for more than $450. It's a nice place but who can possibly afford it? Pros: Nice office, nice people Cons: Prices are ridiculous, unnecessary supplements more
