I started going to Autotech a few years ago and not sure why Yelpers have had such a bad experience, but Ronny has always been a great mechanic. \r \r My BMW is almost 8 years o...

Worst

I went there to get an oil change and a light replaced. They tried to add on a whole bunch of bogus work. Beware. Everyone but Ronny is not crazy.

Shady shop 6/9/2009

I had the most horrendous experience with Autotech. On my way to SoCal for an entire week of vacation, the A/C in my Honda stopped working and I drove it to this shop on a Monday afternoon and after the initial diagnosis and estimate, the repair work was supposed to be completed by Tuesday evening. After following up with them for 5 days in a row, multiple times a day, I finally got my car, 4 days late, on Friday evening and the owner gave me a bill of $600 above the original estimate !!!! This besides the fact that Ron was downright rude over the phone and was not at all interested in talking to me or taking time out to explain the problem. They kept on saying that the parts needed for repair are not to be found in the entire SoCal and that my car would be ready the next day and on the next day the same story continued. They should have checked the availability of the parts at the time of giving me the estimate (Tuesday morning) Although they agreed to give me a loaner, it ruined my entire vacation because everyday I would have to change my plans as my car won't be ready in the evening on that day and I wouldn't know if I could leave LA or not. Here is the kicker, I called some Honda dealers in the area around and I was able to locate the parts needed, they were readily available !!! I even volunteered to drive down to those dealers and pick the parts up myself but Autotech refused saying they had already ordered them from some other place and they would arrive the next day morning, this continued for 3 freaking days!! Some trivia, the Honda warehouse for California is located in ...... no points for guessing .... LA I would give them a negative 10 rating for - Being rude - Lying - Not doing due diligence of checking availability of parts - Trying to charge me more than the original estimate without getting my consent on the increase in estimate - Employing delay tactics to wear me down - Overcharging me just because some of my repair was going to be covered by my insurance - Being highly unprofessional - Ruining my vacation Pros: are you kidding Cons: read more more

I would like to file formal complain against this individual who impersonate himself as 3 different people,\r I tried to contact Timothy B by e-mail.Timothy response was rude and nasty. send E-mail to Dan H and asked to produce document to prove that his car was serviced at this shop, never response to our request the only response was nasty ,last person Tbrandt never response to our request to produce any documents to proof service at the shop. Same person with same typing different accounts filing similar complains at YELP,INSIDER PAGES & CITY SEARCH..This is against all rules which I have read, WE request to investigate and remove all of the above complains which was filed without proof or justification. I am the owner of Autotech 5 Star Rating - World class. 10/9/2008

I am the owner of Autotech. I don't see any relevant information about this claim ? we at Autotech follow the CA rules and regulation by giving the customer upfront estimate,if customer agree and authorized there should be no complains. I am ASE master technician and factory trained and certified and did the diagnose on this VW. I found powertrain management codes relating to lean misfire and adaption value over limit, the oxygen sensor which is a very expensive part original VW at $198.75,bad idling code, which would require some work replacing intake gasket and some leak repair at air intake, breather hose and vacuum line.reprogram the car PCM and re-set all adaptation value for better performance with better gas miles so it will not pollute the environment, the total estimate would be $500.00 customer claimed he did some research online the previous day, and saw that he can get an oxygen sensor not original factory by VW for $40 Pros: Best Good Quality Shop more

Misleading and sleazy 8/27/2008

Avoid this shop at all costs.\r \r Ronny B. gave me the old bait and switch. My engine code was on, which I was fairly certain was due to a faulty oxygen sensor. I called around and this shop told me it was most likely a loose hose and they could take care of it for $90.\r \r When I brought the car in, I was met by a sleazy guy named Ronny B. He gave me the smooth talk that he would check my car out and find ALL the problems. He called me the next day and said that there were several things wrong with it, and he would need it for a few days. He cited 5 engine codes, and said it would be pretty expensive. He cited the oxygen sensor, and a rough idle, and said it would cost at least $500.\r \r When I told him the I looked up the oxygen sensor online, and found one for $40 that I could change myself - he got completely irrate. He said 'WHAT, WHAT I do not deal with people like you. Look up on internet??? NO! Come give me my money!"" SLAM! He hung up the phone - not once, but twice when I called him back.\r \r Thank god, I took my car back. I ended up buying the top of the line O2 sensor for $90, which screwed in, easily. And, the rough idle was solved by a $3 bottle of carb cleaner.\r \r Don't fall into Ronny B's trap - you're smarter than that.\r \r By the way, all the 5 star reviews on this and other sites are clearly written by him, and he's obviously not smart enough to cover it up. You're smarter than to fall for that, too. Cons: they will cheat you more
