I had the most horrendous experience with Autotech. On my way to SoCal for an entire week of vacation, the A/C in my Honda stopped working and I drove it to this shop on a Monday afternoon and after the initial diagnosis and estimate, the repair work was supposed to be completed by Tuesday evening.
After following up with them for 5 days in a row, multiple times a day, I finally got my car, 4 days late, on Friday evening and the owner gave me a bill of $600 above the original estimate !!!!
This besides the fact that Ron was downright rude over the phone and was not at all interested in talking to me or taking time out to explain the problem.
They kept on saying that the parts needed for repair are not to be found in the entire SoCal and that my car would be ready the next day and on the next day the same story continued.
They should have checked the availability of the parts at the time of giving me the estimate (Tuesday morning)
Although they agreed to give me a loaner, it ruined my entire vacation because everyday I would have to change my plans as my car won't be ready in the evening on that day and I wouldn't know if I could leave LA or not.
Here is the kicker, I called some Honda dealers in the area around and I was able to locate the parts needed, they were readily available !!! I even volunteered to drive down to those dealers and pick the parts up myself but Autotech refused saying they had already ordered them from some other place and they would arrive the next day morning, this continued for 3 freaking days!!
Some trivia, the Honda warehouse for California is located in ...... no points for guessing .... LA
I would give them a negative 10 rating for
- Being rude
- Lying
- Not doing due diligence of checking availability of parts
- Trying to charge me more than the original estimate without getting my consent on the increase in estimate
- Employing delay tactics to wear me down
- Overcharging me just because some of my repair was going to be covered by my insurance
- Being highly unprofessional
- Ruining my vacation
