Always dreaming of my next meal 6/23/2009

the crispy watercress salad, the papaya salad, numerous pork, duck, eggplant dishes with basil and chili. you really can't go wrong with anything here except for the seafood dishes. they always disappoint in comparison to everything else. love love love this joint. Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: fish dishes more

yummy 6/6/2009

The renovation was worth the wait; more space, nice decor and price remains very reasonable. The garden is just a wonderful addition. But... can't make too much noise coz the neighbors will complain. Pros: you get what you pay for and even more Cons: some days the wait can be long more

Superb food in an unpretentious locale 5/20/2009

This is what Thai is supposed to be. I come here every few months and the quality of the food is always exceptional, with no ups and downs. You can't go wrong with a dish here. The service is fine -rushed sometimes but generally attentive. With the addition in recent years of more tables and the outdoor patio, the customer turnaround is quicker and the wait a bit more bearable. Well worth the trip from Manhattan and other boroughs. Pros: Bright flavors, fresh ingredients, consistent quality Cons: No-reservations policy more

authenticity 5/5/2009

This is one of those places you just can't find in the city. Everyone is thai, from the customers to the cooks and waiter/waitresses.... YOU KNOW its good Thai food is you see Thai customers in there. lolz I like to go when its beautiful out because there backyard is absolutely gorgeous amidst an area that is lacking... Parking isn't too bad either. Pros: the food, open garden area in the back Cons: they close at 930 on the dot. more

Amazing Gem of a Place 3/8/2009

The staff is exteremely attentive and caring. The dishes we ordered came quickly and were full of flavor and spice. This is a great neighborhood restaurant with a well deserved following. Pros: perfect food, great service Cons: gets somewhat crowded at times more

Food still good, place going downhill 2/18/2009

The food is excellent, but ever since this very popular restaurant has expanded a few years ago, you don't feel treated as special as the smaller Thai establishments in Queens, and that makes a difference. It has sort of become an atmosphere close to a soup kitchen, they serve your food and bring your check as soon as possible.\r \r That being said, it's still delicious and a good bet when things are not too crowded. They do not dumb-down the spicy dishes for non-Thais or sweeten everything like most in Manhattan. I also like to peruse their dessert case and grab something sweet for the ride home. more

  • This is the kind of Thai food some consider unattainable in Manhattan. The atmosphere is squeaky clean and no-nonsense: Tables for two can be pushed together to accommodate groups--if there's room....
