We enjoyed the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, but the food leaves something to be desired. I am not sure how Q's had previously achieved a 9.3 overall rating on Citysearch, except perhaps that this is yet another case where diners in cities that have less culinary talent than bigger, and mainly coastal, cities, set their bar lower because they generally do not experience truly great food. We had the chef's 5-course tasting menu, along with wine pairings; the first 2 courses were seafood, and this is really where quality fell short. With today's technology for keeping seafood fresh and transporting it quickly, there is no excuse for serving ""fishy"" tasting or poorly prepared seafood, particularly in a restaurant that claims to be of such high caliber. Of the remaining courses, the lamb shanks were probably the best, which you might expect from a restaurant located in Colorado. (The wine pairings were also good.) In all, if you order the right things, it's not a bad choice if you're in hanging around in Boulder, but there are better options out there.
Pros: Staff, atmosphere
Cons: Food
