As others have stated the charges are out of this world and the billing department has no manners. Every month I've had to call and provide my insurance information so they would bill insurance.... I still haven't figured out why they aren't able to update my records and keep the information on file. I'm supposed to be receiving an updated bill which shows that insurance has been billed and what my patient responsibility is to PAKC.... still haven't received it. I don't know that this group is really into patient care as much as they are into taking you for all they can squeeze out of you. I have since found a new doctor and thus far am quite pleased with my experience. Save yourselves some money and go somewhere else. more

Dr Aznaurova is nice but diagnosis is sketchy at best. Remember they want repeat customers for their outrageous charges. Dr. Handoo has quite the ego. Borderline cocky. Threatening to have my kids taken? He might be the crazy one. They are quick to diagnose bi-polar so they can hook you on their pills for repeat visits. Its been over a year and I had issues but bi-polar is not one of them. I stopped taking their pills after a week and have since had no issues. Wait until you receive bill. It should be illegal to charge that much for a 10 min visit. Then don't call in about bill. You will wait over 15 minutes to be greeted by unorganized, rude bill department or just switched to answering machine and will get no return call. I informed them of my Bankruptcy and they refused to take down information. It has since been discharged and still receiving bills. Next step my attorney will be filing a motion for contempt of court. Looking forward to getting another bill. I will sue the hell out of them. CLASS ACTION? IM DOWN. GOOD LUCK. WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!\r more

I can't say enough good things about Dr A . I came to see her as a second - make it third - opinion doctor and was so impressed that I had decided to stay with her. She is really interested in her patients, asks a lot of questions, explains things to me. She has helped me to understand and accept my condition. She did give me several treatment options. I am feeling so much better! more

Sarah is by far one of the most unprofessional and rudest people we have ever had the displeasure of working with. The only good customer service we have ever received is while that witch was on maternity leave. Dr. Mays may be a good doctor but we have had nothing but problems with Sarah. Dr. Mays defends her as ""good at what she does"". We have been trying to get our son's file for weeks with no avail. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/16/2012

False advertising and rude receptionist. I'm a primary care physician trying to refer a patient to him. I found his name on the internet and his website. My nurse call his office. The receptionist was extremely rude, unhelpful and practically turned down the referral right on the spot. \r Why I said false advertising? Because my patient has excellent ppo insurance, the type of insurance listed on his website as ""accepted insurance"". But the receptionist told my nurse that they don't take that specific insurance. \r Second thought, the doc there might be good but I will NOT ever refer any of my patients there if that's how his office handles communications or referrals. I've made numerous referral to different specialists, this is by far the worst experience. \r more

Dr H. seemed to care & want to help, but thanks to the HORRIBLE office staff who couldn't do their jobs and coordinate with my employer & insurance company my FMLA claim was denied so my employer didn't accept that I am clinically depressed and fired me for being off work so long. THANKS PAKC!!! Love being unemployable!!!! more

Horrible office staff 5/10/2012

The reception staff and especially the ""so-called"" supervisor Janette are extremely rude! They did not send me a statement, yet somehow I am expected to know what my balance is and pay it??? No matter what I said, all I got was a rude hateful response based on previous customers actions. Don't see how my siutation has to be compared to other patients. All patients are different, as are their situations. Therefore, they should be treated as such. Basically, since other people has said they didnt get a statement, I was treated as if I was lying. Horrible customer service!! more

The Worst Billing Dept 7/20/2011

The doctors are alright but to charge a someone that's in the hospital $320 for the initial 3mins and $160 per visit when the damn doc himself only saw me twice out of 5 days and for only 2 mins at a time. Not only that when I applied for assistance they laughed and gave 45% to someone who only has a temp job for two months and a baby on the way. They have no compassion or regard for anyone but themselves. They are rude, vicious, and incompetent women who obviously need a career change. If there were zero or negative stars to give this would definitely be one of those occasions. Oh and if any of you agree I'm going to the Better Business Bureau as well. more

Awful Reception Staff 4/25/2011

I like my Doctor but the reception staff are rude. Although I never experienced a NAZI concentration camp, I would imagine the the reception staff would fit right in. more

Cannot say enough bad things about clerical/admin staff. 3/12/2011

The Doctors are acceptable. Although not great enough to warrant putting up with the sub-normal, socially challenged, outright malicious, flat out horrible excuses that are supposed to serve as the clerical/billing/office staff. At their best they're plain rude. They are quick to release their ""hounds"" for collection of even paid debts. I paid my bill (with no Insurance) 2 months late. This, after having to go over their heads and get my Doctors ""OK"" to not come up with the entire fee on the spot in full. My check cleared my bank in Dec. Called for a replacement script after the original was lost by my pharmacy in January and the office staff flat out refused!!!! They are in the businesses of jeopardizing patience's health and well-being for their base satisfaction of spite. There are no words that exist in the English language suitable for an accurate depiction of these scumbags. Now, 5 months after my appointment and 3 months after settling the debt, I am receiving bothersome mail and harassing phone calls from collectors. This office staff ought to be held accountable for endangerment, malpractice, egregiously causing pain and suffering, false debt collecting, so on and so forth. I STRONGLY encourage anyone anywhere to avoid this business at all costs. After reading everyone else's reviews, it seems their might even be grounds for a class-action to occur. more

Dr. Mays is the BEST 8/19/2010

I can't possibly say enough good things about Dr. Mays. He is smart, caring, professional, and intuitive. After years of struggling and countless misdiagnosis by other doctors, in one session Dr. Mays correctly diagnosed my daughter, worked to get her on the correct dose of the correct medication and recommended an outstanding therapist. He has changed her life and the lives of our whole family. The office staff is fine. I've never had a problem. And anyway, you're going to see a doctor not a secretary. These are great doctors. This is a very good practice. Even if you have to wait for your first appointment- it is WORTH THE WAIT. more

stealing secretary 8/2/2010

the psychiatrists are wonderful and do anything they can to help. the male secretary with the long finger nails and short hair stole my money. Pros: doctors Cons: secretaries more

Dr. Mays and Psychiatry Associates are the very best! 4/25/2008

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Mays for going on 2 years and I have never had a bit of trouble with either billing or appointments. When I first starting having issues with my young child every where I looked had a 6 month waiting period or longer and I was at my wits end. Dr. Mays could see me in 2 months but when my family doctor called and explained the seriousness of the situation I got a call back from his office, he re-arranged his schedule in order to see my daughter that same week. \r \r His assistant is always prompt and effecient getting answers to my questions or relaying updates to him. She always makes sure that our controlled substance refill requests are taken care of immediately. Dr. Mays is a wonderful caring doctor with genuine concern for the well being of my child and is always considerate of my questions and observations as her parent. I would give him and his practice 10 stars if I could. Pros: Quick, Professional, Courteous, Extended Office Hours Cons: Not a single thing! more

Great doctors, but lousy office staff who make every contact too frustrating. 3/24/2008

Although I am very impressed with Dr. A, her appointment staff makes it so frustrating to try to set up an appointment that I found somewhere else to go. She either doesn't return repeated phone messages requesting appointments, or the person answering the phone says she will be right with you, put you on hold, and she never comes to the phone. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. It is very frustrating to need an appointment and not be able to make one. Pros: Excellant doctors. Cons: Disorganized, unresponsive appointment desk. more

Comprehensive Biochemical Psychiatric Care--Not just a bunch of pills!!! 1/20/2008

I have had more than one PAKC physician care for me during the roller coaster, terrorizing spiral downards since my mental health declined. All of them have been kind, intuitive, caring, and gone a step beyond to try and help me stabilize. HOWEVER, ONE DOCTOR STANDS ABOVE THE REST for me--I was finally diagnosed with a rare thryroid condition (or at least rarely diagnosed) which absolutely accounted for my decline from stable, beautiful, productive type A+, down to crazed, worn down, cyclical OCD bipolar. My doctor, Lolitta Aznaurova is so well-educated in the biochemical working of the brain--She has taken me back to youth and joy, and stability in her absolutely astonishing knowledge and attention in helping with my thyroid, and how it has contributed to my mental illness. I am extremely thankful to her. I think all of her colleagues are fantastic. Very caring people. \r God Bless Them! Pros: Location, Parking, Ambiance, Service, are all fantastic! And BIGGIE--They don't mind my monster children if I HAVE to bring them! Cons: Physicians work at the Psychiatric Center in the morning and sometimes the wait is a bit long. Bring something to read and be happy for the time to relax with yourself! more

M Everson 7/25/2007

Michael Everson is a really good doctor and actually listens to what is going on and figures out the problem before giving you a bunch of medications. I can usually get an appointment in his lee's summit office right away and if there are no openings they usually figure out a way for me to see the doctor. He is an excellent doctor and is always trying new things with medicine to make sure everything is going smoothly. I have gone to a lot of psychiatrists and I would recommend him above anyone he's a very good doctor. Pros: don't have to wait forever to see the doctor Cons: you have to wait forever on hold to book an appointment more

Super Nice Doctor 6/13/2007

Although I am not doctor Sitzman's patient I have had occasion to visit with him many times when in the hospital. He covered a couple of my doctor's shifts and I found him to be an excellent doctor. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and treats patients with respect. more

Excellent Doctor 6/13/2007

I saw Dr. Seagraves when I was a patient in the psych ward as he was filling in for my doctor on his day off. I found him to be an excellent doctor who listened to my issues with care and concern. more

Excellent Practice, highly recommend it 6/13/2007

I have been a patient of Dr. Sherman Cole's for 12 years and since he's been with this practice that entire time I'm very familiar with both him and some of the other doctors. I found Dr. Cole to be knowledgeable, wise, and had a vast amount of experience with which to treat me and my disorder. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a psychiatrist. more

Good Dr.s , TERRIBLE BILLING DEPT, Half assed job with the receptionists, 2/4/2007

I have been with this company now for a 3 years and I have had 2 Dr's. One left the practice and I sorta liked her but then I got Dr. Everson and I absolutely love how attentive he is. He is the first Dr. to actually stop what he is doing and listen to me.I don't know many of the Drs.\r \r Now on to the billing dept. It is the worst I have ever seen. I had only been seeing them about 3 mo and they had screwed up my billing EVERY SINGLE TIME.They try to undercharge me and then get rude with me when I tell them they are billing wrong, then they have to bill me the correct amount and ask me""why if you know the correct amount, didn't you pay the correct amount in the first place,"" LIKE I'M THE IDIOT. I pay them cash and they write a receipt then say they didn't get the amount that I gave them. If you go to them make sure to pay by check, credit card, or money order so that you have not only 1 proof of payment but 2.\r \r The worst time I have had with this company is the receptionists. I call in and they put me on hold forever that I end up hanging up and calling back. Come on now, I know your busy but cell phone minutes go up fast. But one other HUGE positive is that I can usually get in really fast like the same week if my depressive side of my bi polar is up and Dr. Everson is great and deals with it by asking me whats going on and then deciding what to do.\r \r DR. Everson is the only reason this is getting a 5 because if you are lucky enough to get him to be your Dr. he will make sure your OK. Pros: Dr. Everson Is really cool Cons: The BILLING dept and the ones that take the money try to rip you off on cash. ALWAYS KEEP YOUR RECEIPT and dont pay with cash more
