Our dogs have been going to Primrose Lane Farm since 2003. I have to say we love the care and attention our dogs receive. I feel that John and Kristin, the owners, love our dogs almost as much as we do. The dogs are given individual attention while they are there. They are taken on long walks around the perimeter of the property. They are allowed doggie play time in a large outdoor play yard where they can interact with other dogs. \r Nessie, a dog we adopted came with health issues. We boarded Nessie and Graham while we traveled for a vacation one year. Nessie suffered complications from her disease. Mind you the complications had nothing to do with the care she received but part of her disease progression. John called me in tears that something was wrong with Nessie and that he wanted to take her to the Emergency Vet. I obviously agreed and John took her. He stayed with Nessie until we could get to her. The dedication to our family was greatly appreciated.\r John and Kristin have done so much good for the dog community in Pennsylvania and their outreach extends to many other states with dogs in need. I recall shortly after Katrina happened that John and Kristin fostered dogs who needed help and loving families. They brought these dogs, misplaced and sickened by the hurricane and its aftermath, back to optimum health in an isolated area from the kennel and then found families to care for them.\r I would highly recommend Primrose Lane Farm to anyone who loves their dogs as much as we do.\r I think our dog Graham would recommend it too. Whenever we get into view of Primrose he gets really excited in the car. He starts whining to get out of the car.\r more

Fantastic with dogs that need more attention! I heard about Primrose Lane Farm from my vet. I was so impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly staff and my dog came back looking beautiful and happy. I will definitely be a repeat customer! This means a lot to me because my dog is not a ""normal"" dog by any stretch of the imagination. She is absolutely terrified of any strangers. She won't bite and she's not aggressive - she just stays as far away as possible from anyone that is not us. Familiar people who aren't family are only slightly better. She has been this way since she was a puppy and while she has gotten better working with trainers, she still has major issues. So, when we needed to find a kennel to keep her in, I looked very carefully at our options. Primrose Lane Farm came highly recommended, and they were very friendly and professional over the phone. So, we gave them a try. They were terrific! To make her more comfortable we did Day Care for a few weeks before boarding. They were kind and patient with her issues, gave her cuddles and treats, and eased her into play yard fun with other dogs. However, the best recommendation I can give is that she didn't come out any worse and has not shown any more hesitation than usual when we have taken her back. In fact, she has bonded to the owners dog and she genuinely has opened up to the staff there. She will never be ""normal"" but they understand and accommodate her. I don't know that I ever hoped to find this and I am very grateful. \r \r \r more

Great service!!!!!. For the past 5 years our dogs have been boarded at Primrose Lane Farm several times a year.We love the place! Our oldest dog lived to be almost 15 and had many trips to here. When we got a new puppy and returned with our new dog and other senior dog the staff saw to it they each had a great time even though their social and energy needs are different. The staff is WARM , KIND, HIGHLY COMPETENT. The people at Primrose clearly CARE a great deal about man's best friend and we never worry about our dogs when they are there. We highly recommend this kennel. more

I know this is long, but if you are considering this kennel you MUST read.\r \r After my dog stayed at this kennel, and came home with urine burns, soaked in urine, and petrified of everything, I posted the review below. I then also called Primrose to discuss this with the owner due to the treatment of my dog while here. I spoke with an employee who did seem concerned for the health and well-being of my dog, and this person agreed to have the owner contact me. Once I spoke with the owner, I found out that both he and the manager I spoke with were not present at the kennel at all during my dog’s stay. The owner spoke with me about my dog’s problems, and ultimately told me (on 7/30/12) that if I removed my reviews from Citysearch and Yellow pages about his kennel, that he would reimburse me the amount of my dog’s stay due to our concerns with his treatment there, and our concerns about the state he returned to us in. I removed the reviews that day (7/30/12), figuring that I could use the money to bring a trainer to our house to help our dog overcome his newfound fears. Today is 11/27/12, and to this date I have not received my reimbursement from Primrose Lane Farm, nor have they contacted me in any way to set this right. I am disgusted, and have attached my original review below so that everyone considering this kennel can be aware of the way that my dog was treated here before allowing their dog to stay here.\r \r After reading all of the wonderful reviews on Primrose Lane Farm, we decided that our dog's first boarding experience would be here while we were on vacation. We have a very social, friendly year old pup who has a lot of energy but has also been trained. We felt very confident in the reviews, but upon picking him up, were shocked and disgusted. Our dog, who is crate trained and can last all night without any accidents, and can last 7 hours during the day without accidents, was pee-soaked. Not just smelling like pee - his stomach, legs, paws, and tail were drenched. This tells us that he was spending way too many hours in a crate to be in this condition. He also has large sores on him from obviously laying around in the crate. We sent toys for him to chew on, which had not seen any obvious use while he was there, and a bed that likewise - looked unused. We heard about play area and dogs being on walks, but did not see any dogs outside of their indoor crated area - no dogs on walks, and the play area that was outside was a crate with 1 dog in it. After asking staff to tell us about his stay (we were very antsy about leaving him for the first time!) the response was - he was well behaved. We don't really know what happened while he was here, but he came back in a state that shocked us. We will not be returning, and I personally am very upset that I allowed my dog to stay here for the week. I understand that there are some great reviews about this place, because that is why we picked it, but if looking for a place to board your dog, please take caution if considering Primrose Lane Farm. more

Great Place!! 2/17/2012

Good and Clean. Lots of room outside for the dogs to play together. The staff seemed nice. I've only been there twice, but planning on returning every time we go on vacation. I like how you can see the dogs playing or on walks, you know they are doing what they say they do. My dogs were tired and happy and genuinely seemed to have enjoyed themselves. They look forward to gong back. more

Rascal 12/6/2011

I have friends that use Primrose Lane Farm Dog Kennel regularly. They are very pleased with the care their dogs receive while they are there. Rascal being a Terrier/Poodle mix and a bit high strung struggled on his return home. The owners of the kennel showed a genuine concern in that regard. more

Special Place!! 12/18/2010

Thank you Primrose Lane Farm!! 10/19/2010

I dont know what we would do without Primrose Lane Farm!!. Our dog has been going to Primrose Lane for over 2 years (every couple of months). The peace of mind knowing he is getting the attention he needs, is highly socialized with other dogs (not confined to a kennel like other places) and knowing they will take care of him like he is their own is the greatest benefit. Our pup is tired when he gets home but since he is a 3 year old lab with a ton of energy, this is another benefit for us. If you want to have the peace of mind that your dog is getting great care and having a blast when you cant be with him/her I highly recommend Primrose Lane Farm. more

Primrose is the Best! 1/24/2008

We HIGHLY recommend this facility. The dogs are well cared for, exercised & loved. This is definitely not your average boarding facility. The owners are very friendly and treat you and your dog like part of the family. We have been to many of the facilities in the suburbs and this is the ONLY one we are comfortable recommending. We vote Primrose two paws up! Pros: Daycare available, long walks on the farm, personalized care more
