Primos: Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland 4/22/2011

Primos-Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland: The only thing positive is the view. Food at best is mediocre. The manager is awful, has no grasp of customer service. I was incorrectly charged for a beer and the manager had a an outburst with an employee/us in front of all the guests. I will never go back. If you want to enjoy the view, I recommend Islamorada (in Bass Outdoor World), Texas Land & Cattle or the Flying Saucer located just next door. I refuse to spend another dollar at a business that acts so rudely to their guests and employees. I was so disgusted that I even wrote a letter to the Area Manager to which he never bothered responding. Frankly, after my experience, it didn't surprise me that he too lacked Basic Management Skills. I GUESS THE BLIND IS LEADING THE BLIND AT PRIMOS LAKE RAY HUBBARD ;-) more

Good food poor management 3/1/2011

I came here after seeing some of the reviews and I have to agree. I enjoyed the food but the vibe was weird. The management wasn't very attentive and the service was decent. I thought the management should be more hands on with what is happening in the restaurant especially when it is busy but they seemed to not care. Come here for the food and don't expect anything else more

Prepared for the Worst/Received the Best 2/6/2011

We just got back from Primo's in Rockwall. I was hesitant to go since I read all the reviews before we left. We got there about 2pm and I was expecting to receive the worst possible service, but we received the very best service from Server 1116 ASHLEY!! more

terrible manager 10/31/2010

weve been to primos on lake ray hubbard previously but had never experienced what we did friday night. at 7 30 friday night you wouldnt expect to hear loud club music while having dinner but thats what we got. manager asked us sarcastically what we wanted to listen to and told us that is primos format. also told us they let employees play music from juke box. he tried to remedy by giving us some gift cards. why would i come back or send someone else there to listen to that crap while theyre eating. its one thing if its 10pm but were talking 7 30. horrible customer service from manager but waiter was great. we will never go back. well be going to glorias from now on more

good food, strange vibe 9/18/2010

Possibly the wierdest dining experience ever! The food was excellent, delivered to the table in perfect timing, margaritas were very good, beautiful build-out.....but the management was beyond unprofessional. I think we got the ONLY good waitress in the entire restaurant. Ask for Beth-Ann and you'll have a great meal. The bartender and management stood around talking to each other and doing nothing about most of the pouting, sneering, Snookie look-alikes (minus the teased hair) working there. I expected the food to be horrible based on appearances, but it was so good I would consider going back to get more?! The diners were a mixed bag (from families to an older couple in a make-out session) so odd. Maybe the kitchen manager is a real professional, because the food was a treat. more

Food is awesome, service slow & unattentive 9/18/2010

The 4 star rating is for the food & great patio view. Rating the service would be a 2. Ask for refill on chips twice from the waitress, never got them. Finally got the young man that brought our food out to us to bring more. Waitress never offered refills on our drinks, another waiter took care getting refills. Waitress never asked how our food was or if we wanted anything else, no offer of dessert. We did not arrive until about 7:45-8:00pm, got seated promtly. We had outside patio seating & the view of the lake was great. Seems the bar scene is more of what the staff & management favor. People that were at the bar or ordering drinks from the bar seemed to get more attention. We took a friend for their first time there, he loved the food but was not at all impressed with the service from our waitress. Management really needs to be looked at, run very poorly for a resturant. I don't want to have to feel like I have to have alcohol with my dinner to get good service. more

inattentive employees 8/1/2010

Because we live close we go here at least once a week. If you're lucky enough to go when the experienced bartenders are there everything is golden. If the newer bartenders are there good luck even being acknowledged. If it hadn't been for the barback we probably would never have been served. Pros: great margaritas, beautiful view of the lake Cons: horrible customer service. more

Worst Management ever! 4/23/2010

My expeience at Primo's lake Ray Hubbard, I called because website states you can make reservations. I asked to make reservations for 20 on patio for birthday party. The hostess says we don't make reservations so I asked about website and I have been there before and saw reserved tables everywhere. I was told to hold and Manager came on phone and said again we don't make reservations, but I could get there a hour early and get on waitlist and they would get me a table for 20. Well arrived at 5pm and told hostess what I was told over phone and she was rude and said we don't do that. Manager came over and said put them on list but if no one gets up then we will have to wait a long time hoping I would leave! well ending up getting 3 tables which sat 15 so we sat down and told then I need one more table well Manager told me rudely I have already given you tables and you can not have anymore? huh really, then I said this is not what I was told I need another table he said no so I said I would like your owners name and number which Brent refused to give out and told me I was being unreasonable and there were people waiting on patio tables? I was just asking for what I was told in the first place and I was there at 5 and waited my hour for tables I was promised. Brent being mad and turning red Brent shoved another table over. then he stood there the whole time over our tables waiting for us to leave? very uncomfortable. needless to say the owners really need to know how there patrons are treated by their management. I will never be back there ever!!I'm sure they have lost alot of customers because of Management. I have been in the service industry for years and never been treated like this. I will find the owner as soon as I can. Also TABC needs to make a visit there ,alot of over served people. Cons: horrible Owner needs to know! more

unhappy customers 10/18/2009

My husband and I are not happy with the service and will not be back. Each time we have been there we have received bad service. This last time we had to get a waiter to find us a waiter. He did not check on us to get us drinks. It goes on and on. They don't seem to care if you are not happy.4 times you are out. Pros: food taste good Cons: bad services more

Poor Customer Service, Rude Manager and Employees 10/6/2009

Poor customer service does not allow for a pleasant evening despite the great view they claim to have. IF you can get out on the deck for dinner, you may enjoy it. However, I am all about customer service, if the service isn't there, I'm not there! We called more than a week in advance to ask about arranging a table for 23 people. They refused to work with us. We were told to send one person in our party 1 hour before we were to arrive. We sent someone 1.5 hours before the rest of the party was to arrive. We were told it would be AT LEAST 2 hours before we could get a table. 12 of the 23 people in our party had a dance to go to, thus being the tight schedule we had which is why we called earlier to plan ahead. They refuse to offer customer service. We ended up going next door, with no call, Texas Land and Cattle. They gave us a private room and said in the future, just call them. They would be more than happy to save the room for us and have the appropriate staff available! Now THAT is customer service. Primo's needs to take lessons from the place next door! I do not recommend Primo's for the view, food or service. You can get the great tastes of Texas Tex-Mex food at many other restaurants! For a fabulous view, go down the street and choose any place at The Harbor! Pros: View Cons: Service more

They allow bar patrons to get drunk and abusive! 9/22/2009

The four of us decided to have dinner on their patio at 6pm. Very early in our dinner an older man and a teenager began play fighting near our table. We asked the old man to move away from our table. It was then apparent that he was drunk. He returned to our table to heckle us on two subsequent occasions. The manager did nothing to deal with this drunk except talk to him and tell him to stay away from us which he did not. When we finally left the restuarant the drunk followed us in his car until he was so drunk he couldn't follow us anymore. REVIEW: Terrible Management more afraid of getting busted for overserving than protecting patrons. Cons: nightmare atmosphere more

WORST SERVICE AND RUDE WAITER 8/9/2009

Me and my family went to Primos for dinner and our servers name was Scott. He started out calm and took our drink order but soon showed his true colors. When he delivered food the order was wrong and the food was cold. When we asked to fix my grandsons order he said he'd be right back and he'd tell the manager named Sam. He never took care of the food and only returned to give us the check. My grandson never ate his food since it was cold so i didnt leave him a good tip at all because he couldnt even do his job correctly. To top it all off as we were leaving we could hear Mr. Scott making fun of my handicap grandson. MANAGEMENT SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO GET RID OF SCOTT. Cons: Scott the waiter more

Assaulted by a drunk 7/9/2009

My wife was assaulted in the bar, had to get the police from out in the parking lot to come on and take care of the situation while the bar tenders ignored her and kept on serving this guy more beer. Hope TABC raids them more

Horrible Service 12/12/2008

We waited over 1 1/2 hrs to be seated and then went next door to Texas Land & Cattle. This place is not a restaurant it is a bar and they cater to the drinking crowd. Dont bring your kids! We ate here several other times and the service is less than adequate. Pros: View Cons: Service more

Good Food, Cold Beverages & Cool Atmosphere!!!! 7/10/2008

I'm a Primo's fan from way back. Still think Tinman and the uptown crew on Tuesdays is where its at but the lake location is getting closer everytime I visit. Can't go wrong with the Carne Guisada and a few Dos Equis!!! =) Pros: view,food and beverages Cons: sometimes crowded more
