Mold on Cupcakes! 5/3/2012

Just bought 10 of their cupcakes; 5 chocolate cupcakes were fine, 5 red velvet cupcakes all had green mold at the bottom. Disgusting! more

Horrible Service! 1/19/2012

Poor Customer Service & Even WorseTake Out I live in the Hills right above Sunset Plaza and have tried several times to order a healthy breakfast to go. They have had numerous mistakes even putting strawberries in egg whites and numerous other disastrus things when I ordered to go. They do not have good customer service and I am done with this place. Save your time and $!!! more

Whatever 4/5/2011

I orded, an exotic tea, a chocolate cupcake, teriyaki chicken bowl, and an orange juice. Total price $30. Way over priced. The food was ok at best. Orange juice was very good, but for $6.00 it should be, which by the way I bought because I wanted to know what a $6.00 orange juice taste like, like I said it was good but not for $6.00. The cupcake was dry, and just ok, i have no ideal how much I paid for the cupcake and I don't want to know for it may really piss me off . The tea, was none eventful, drink the free water, which by the way comes in a 4oz cup, as if they are trying to discourage the free water, because it will take at least 15 minutes to order another water, in which time a person will die of thirst. The chicken teriyaki bowl, with veggies again did not know the price of this item, but what ever the cost and I am sure it was ridiculous was not worth the price. The best part of the meal was the vibe, everybody was beautiful and sexy for no reason. And it made me feel kinda of cool to be there, not that I need it but, nonetheless I felt extra cool. Maybe it was the beautiful people or the fact I could over pay for food, that was marginal at best. One last thing, as I said the food was just ok, and I was starving!. So if want to go to a daytime club with ok food than this is the place for you, but if you want a great dinning experience with food that is really good than this is not the place for you. more

A Prime Spot for Caffe Primo 7/20/2010

The patio of this coffeehouse/restaurant is always packed regardless of the time of the day. Ironically located on the fast-paced Sunset strip, at Primo they actually encourage you to take your time while eating and drinking at a leisurely pace. This place draws in everyone from big name celebrities to wannabe Hollywood power players douchely typing away on their computers. In addition to coffee, they also serve gelatos, paninis, salads, and other Italian inspired foods. more

Bad bad bad service...bad. 1/5/2010

Just try to call Primo to place a to-go order...they don't answer their phone. Everything takes WAY too long to prepare and isn't really worth the wait. I'm hating on Primo - it's still ringing and I've had time to sign up for City Search to leave this review and they still haven't answered. Pros: OK coffee Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE more

/if you're starving and got money to burn... 12/8/2009

So maybe you do accept and therefore expect to overpay for everything on Sunset Strip, but for as much as that should be true, it's no excuse for the flavor-free pre-turd fodder disguised as fancy food at Caffe Primo.\r \r Oh sure, the menu items sound nice enough but don't be fooled -- it's a crime for any restaurant to charge these prices and be yet bested by Subway for half the loot.\r \r Save your money, time and taste buds -- Caffe Primo is good to pass. Pros: Some organic stuff Cons: Taste-free, Over-priced, Weak Service more

Great coffee.. & overpriced food 1/2/2009

Excellent coffee... but overpriced everything. SNOBBY SERVICE. Very SCENEY crowd..... people who want to see & be seen... They'll milk their one cup of coffee for hours at a table.. & hide behind their Macs.. just to get a view of a local celeb... So Wannabe!! Pros: tastey Cons: overpriced, snobby! service. more

AMAZING chocolate chip cookies 8/1/2008

This cafe with an open-air dining room and charming patio right along Sunset Blvd possibly has the best chocolate chip cookies I?ve ever had: huge in size, tantalizingly moist and loaded with chocolately goodness. They cost around $2.50, but the taste makes them totally worth the splurge. I?m really eager to find the time to actually sit down and sample the crepes, salads, sandwiches or gelato there. See if the rest of the food is on par with those fantastic cookies! more

Awful Service. Dirty Coffee Cup. 4/23/2008

I ordered a cup of coffee and noticed there's a giant lip mark on my coffee cup. I requested for a new cup, and the server's attitude totally turned me off! He didn't apologize for this gross coffee cup, nor said anything while giving me the ""clean"" cup. He just seemed impatient and very unfriendly. I'll never go there again. Pros: Outdoor dinging and ambience Cons: Overpriced and AWFUL service more

Delicious salads! 4/14/2008

I had heard nothing but great things about this cafe, and I understand why after lunching here for the first time today! Their salads are fabulous (I got the Spinach Cranberry), and their desserts looked lovely (had some of the fruit and lemon tarts). Great atmosphere, it's soo nice to sit outside on a hot day like today. Their prices were mid-range ($12-$15 I would say), but worth it for a nice lunch. Definitely give it a try. :) Pros: Food, Ambiance, Service Cons: Price, Parking more

Lives up to the hype! 2/6/2008

I work about two blocks away from Caffe Primo, and always wanted to check it out but after reading mixed reviews about how it was over-rated and too expensive for what it's worth, I held off for a while...until today. I was determined to go there for lunch and if anything try their yogurt gelato, which I heard is better than Pinkberry (it's soooo true). Parking would be kind of difficult but fortunately I didn't have a problem because I snagged a space right across the street. I ordered a turkey-havarti panini to go and got a gelato along with it. When I was trying to decide what flavor to get, they even told me I could mix it up and get two flavors! I had the original yogurt and yogurt with berries, and they were absolutely heavenly. I was really sad when I finished it. I moved onto the panini, and it's definitely one of the best sandwiches I've had. I especially love the cranberries--it gives the sandwich a twist and really adds to it in a good way. It comes with a salad, and I usually hate salad, but their mixed greens salad was so good and not overly drenched with dressing as most salads are, so I was actually able to eat all of it. Spectular meal, and although I can see why many would complain that it's pricey, I say you only live once and this cute little cafe is definitely not to be overlooked :) Pros: layout, location, service, the amazing food! Cons: parking more

A touch of Europe on Sunset Plaza Drive 11/1/2007

On a recent visit to Cafe Primo recently I was looking across the street and realized that this charming strip around Sunset Plaza Drive reminds me a little bit of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas... that faux European look of little houses with greek columns. This is the perfect setting for what feels like a trendy italian cafe and sandwich place. Cafe Primo is situated at the east end of that section, but it is getting a new neighbor in H&M which is opening soon, and it has another important neighbor - Equinox Gym of West Hollywood, which means the crowd is also very interesting. It has great indoor and outdoor seatings, and even the inside is all open and feel very airy. Modern dark wood furniture is the setting for healthy paninis, soups, and salads, and some hot dishes too, and a full italian espresso bar. You can pick something up or lounge around for hours I see quite a few people there lingering around on their iMacs. My office is nearby so we often pick up sandwiches for lunch - the tuna arichoke is a great sandwich, as is the tortilla soup but it will destroy your arteries it is too rich. Everythying else feels fairly healthy in that Italian kind of way... yes there is bread but the ingredients are wholesome so you don't feel very guilty. A really nice place to chill out by yourself or with a friend. more

Delicious and relaxing 10/26/2007

Cafe Primo makes the best turkey sandwich I've ever tasted. The cranberry spread is out of this world. The ice cream is great too. The place is small but service is quick and they never rush you to empty the tables. This is a coffee shop that does it right. Plus, the Sunset Strip location is awesome. more

The third star is entirely for the icecream 10/8/2007

If it was not for the icecream taste the food is not to bother. The crepes are too thin and uncooked inside, you eat mostly the dow, the choice of ingredients is set , that is you have to choose the set that is posted, you cannot select ingredients, the omelettes come with veggies and potatoes but when I asked for some bread it was like I asked for ...............something like coming from the moon ! I got the bread but because of it they omited the veggies and potatoes ! To communicate with the cooking staff you are better with Spanish. The ice cream feels great and very tasty especially on a hot day; except that the container cups are so small that if you take 3 scoops it all falls out all over. So if you are an avid ice cream eater you better take 2 cups and not fill them so much.....that is if the ..regulations allow ! It has a nice patio and the decor is wonderful, the seats are with taste and very convenient to get there. The prices reasonable and I hope they improve on the food especially the crepes. Pros: Ice cream Cons: Crepes more

Meh 8/22/2007

The parking is a nightmare and the 'celebrity' watching is laughable. You want celebrities? Try Robertson Blvd., not Sunset Plaza. Cons: Parking more

Great place for lunch and people watching 6/30/2007

This is a great spot to watch all the fabulous people on walking down Sunset while grabbing one of Primo's great salads or paninis. I highly recommend the mixed greens and berry salad, as well as the tuna salad - Yum! Pros: Great food, good people watching Cons: Can get crowded more

Delicious Lunch! 6/29/2007

I go to Primo nearly once a week and love it. The salads, pizza and sandwiches are all delicious. It's a cool ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating or comfy sofas if you prefer to kick back inside. If you are lucky (or not) you might even have a celeb breathing down your neck behind you in line... Pros: Yummy Food more
