Inviting an Calm 1/2/2011

I find the spa inviting. The staff was professional. Jessica did my express pedicure and Ellen did the classic massage and both were very good. Comparing to LaBelle Spa in Stanford, I thought the environment more soothing and calm. I would recommend this spa to my friends. more

Good Spa 2/21/2010

The Spa staff are very friendly and helpful. My friends and I went for a girls afternoon at the Spa and we felt the experience was fine. Some of us got facials and the others got massages. My skin looked revitalized and glowing after the facial. The lady's locker room feels a bit squished and the walls of some of the rooms are a little thin (could hear talking during my service). The spa typically has decent monthly promotions, which is a main reason for my return visits. more

It's all about you! 11/12/2009

The moment I walk in to Preston Wynne I go tinto relax mode. It starts with a warm greeting from the staff and the aroma of scented candles. I'm whisked off to a room where there is flavored water, fruit, granola bars and nuts. The wait for my massage therapistsis very short and I'm off for my time of pampering. The therapists are all good and take care of the knots in my body and leave me feeling rejuvenated! There's never a rush to leave when I'm completed with the massage. I go back a room and relax while reading a magazine and then take a shower- using all the best products that Preston Wynne offers. When my time is up I'm in one of the best downtown areas so it's off for a little shopping! Pros: A positive experience every time Cons: None more

I love this place 11/12/2009

I have been visiting Preston Wynne for over 20 years. I cannot say enough about its superior services and its fabulous people. A real gem. Pros: beautiful spa, lovely people, my great escape more

Fantastic place to relax 3/18/2009

I was a little skeptical to try it the first time but since a close friend of mine bought a a gift card for my wife and I so we decided to go. We ended up being regular customers now even the place is a little out of my way (We are living in Mountain View). The staffs provided the maximum courtesy you can expect from an upscale spa and the services provided by their technicians are the best. I strongly recommend to give it a shot. Pros: Friendly, and professional staff Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Brad Jeffries, CMT is The BEST 5/2/2007

Last month I saw Brad Jeffries for the first time and I was overwhelmed with my experience. I frequent day spas bi-monthly and this was by far the BEST I have EVER had! I will never return to another therapist, it simply is not worth it! To many of the spas I have been to have been to fluffy when I have requested deep tissue. The pressure is inconsistent and the energy they are sharing is not benificial. When I left Brad I was so appreciative I wrote a blog about my experience and told all my friends. He really was able to work out the lactic acid and stress in my muscles. I have NEVER felt better leaving a day spa than that day. Thinking about it makes me want to make another appointment. He hands down is the BEST massage therapist I have ever had. It is well worth the money.... Pros: Brad Jefferies, CMT is the only reason this place is the BEST! Cons: Slightly Pricey more

Great spa with a few flaws. . . 1/17/2007

I enjoyed my treatments with Doris; however, she is no longer there. There are a handful of new estheticians who have yet to reach potential. The front desk staff has made appointment errors with me and guests whom I invite to join me. However, the staff members acknowledged the errors, were apologetic, and compensated us graciously with bite-sized treatments. Pros: Bonuses and promotions--join their e-mail list. Cons: pricey and tough to find parking more

Good facials and massages 11/16/2006

Marie, my esthetician, got rid of some unextractable blemishes during my facial. She works quickly and lightly - I felt like a new woman after her treatment. Effective but pricey facial products on sale - I had to limit myself to half of what Marie had recommended since I didn't want to spend more on products than I had on the treatment. Cons: Parking more

Excellent spa and services 8/19/2006

I've treated my parents here-- both solo and as a couple-- twice before and they've both been exceptionally satisfied with the spa, the staff, the services, the snacks. You name it, they love it. The staff and masseuses are all very professional but accomodating and together create a very nice soothing atmosphere for people in search of relaxation. Their website is up-to-date and provides a list of all their services and packages, including pricing and recommendations for whatever ails you. I highly recommend this establishment and have nothing but good things to say about it. more

Nice, upscale spa 7/14/2006

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have not had the same scheduling issues at Preston Wynne. I don't go too frequently, but when I have been, the service has been good and the treatments fantastic. They do tend to push the (expensive) products a bit. PROS: good service and treatments CONS: they push their products a bit too much more

Reliably Soothing! 11/29/2005

I've visited Preston Wynne Spa in Saratoga probably 10 times in the past 2 years. I get massages now and then when I'm feeling a bit sore from all the mouse-wrangling I do at the office. I've found Preston Wynne's service to be top-notch, and Paul is the most helpful and on-top-of-it concierge I've ever found at any day spa in the silly valley. I don't go often enough to memorize the names of the various masusses, but every one I've had has done excellent work. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed! more

Great services bad management! 11/11/2005

Preston Wynne Day Spa could have easily has a 4 or even a five star rating if it weren't for the management. They have top notch professionals offering facials, massages, etc. of a typical day spa. Doris is great for facials and Brynn is superb massages. They are conveniently located in downtown Saratoga with parking sometimes a problem during the day. The spa itself is a bit small (small waiting area, small dressing/shower facilities, etc.) with reasonable sized treatment rooms. Some of the rooms share a wall with a court yard that can be noisy sometimes. The management can be very inflexible which is a big turn off. The reason we no longer go there is because they charged us for cancellation even though we moved the appoint one day earlier. The $70 cancellation fee resulted in losing hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars of business. Another turn-off is the heavy pushing of their own generally very expensive products. PROS: Great professionals CONS: Bad management, sometimes nois more

Upscale Spa with a Downscale Attitude 11/10/2005

My husband and I were clients of Preston Wynne Spa for over 3.5 years. They were constantly changing our appointments. When we needed to change appointments (without their required 48 hour notice) they charged us $75. The said they were now enforcing their policies on us, however for 3.5 years they had not. We refused to pay the $75 they charged on my credit card and was able to have VISA get the charged removed based on their inconsistent policies. Moreover, we had changed the appointment same day, and just moved it one day out -- they still charged us a late fee. We spoke with Peggy Wynne, the owner, via snail mail and from their standpoint that it was more important to stick with their policies than lose a client who had spent 1000s upon 1000s of dollars with them. It is this type customer service we don't need from a place of business that "help" you to destress-- it only adds more stress to my life! PROS: Nice Spa CONS: Terrible customer service, scheduling systems, and l more

Best treatment I've had... 9/1/2005

Being something of a man myself (;-)), I like spas that cater to men as well as women. I'm always quite happy with the massages and facials (occasionally...they're kind of fun!) I get there. I haven't settled on a favorite massuse (sp?) yet (I've only been four times) but I've been happy with each one thus far. Ambience is good, they could have a more picturesque location but the service has been great and it's so convenient from where I work that it's okay by me. Pros: Friendliness, Service Cons: Views(?) more

not bad .... 8/15/2005

this is a low-key spa. nothing too extravagent. The esthetician DORIS is the best. She is a miracle worker. I've been to a few spas before PW and I have had a microderm at a highly rated spa but when I got a microderm from Doris it was the first time people ever complimented on how great my skin looked .. and this only after the first treatment. so regardless of the atmosphere, the results don't compare to other spas I have been to. The products they sell are pricey and so are the treatments but that still will not stop me from getting my microderm. They always accomadate me when I come 10-20 minutes late. Thus far they have not shortened my treatments when I come in late for my aponitments Pros: Great microderms, Friendly Staff Cons: Location, Atmoshpere, Price more

Good, Bad, and the Ugly... 8/14/2005

My wife and I had gone to Preston-Wynne in Saratoga about a dozen times and _was_ our preferred Spa for a long time. Very good staff members including Doris (facials), and Brynn (massage) that are highly recommend. The Saratoga location however was a bit cramped with small shower facilities, sitting areas, and treatment rooms (and were noisy at times). Some of the staff put pressure on us to buy products. We also weren't ever notified until the last minute (e.g. when we showed up) that a substitution was being made due to illness. The ugly occured when we requested to have our appointments a day early, which they accomodated, but then charged us for the appointments we had to cancel the next day. We asked them to reconsider the charge. They refused even though we had been long time customers so we REFUSE to to ever go there again. more
