Porterhouse Steaks and Seafood

Was there in past when there was different owners. Food was very good. Reasonable priced. Just there tonight ordered one of their specials and was shocked at the prices. Trying to compete with Eddie Merlot""s ( no comparison) Had prime rib & lobster dinner which was served cold!! My partner had dover sole which was okay. Prices were not comparable to taste of food. Not worth the price! They won't last long, sorry to say, won't be returning.\r When ordering specials, they didn't mention price and my mistake was in not asking. Ridiculously overpriced. Only good thing was our waitress was good!\r more

Have had many very good meals with many friends for years,and never a bad experience.Bar help very friendly along with friendly servers.Food has always been excellent.Not modern inside but thats the Old Chicago style. more

I recently dined at Porterhouse and the food was delicious! I found it affordable for the amount of food given. I had the queen filet which was very tender and tasty:) I will definitely be going back soon! Service was great as well. more

This past Sunday was my Dad's birthday and we went to Porterhouse our favorite place to celebrate. First we had Saganaki and BBQ shrimp as appetizers. Then I had Filet and Jumbo Shrimp, and I know what you might be thinking to much shrimp. But it was out of this world!!! The shrimp was cooked to perfection. My dad had the Chicken Asiago which he always gets. My mom's favorite is the Almond Crusted Whitefish and as a side she had this time a baked potato, you can have it toped with bacon and sour cream but she really doesn't care she would it two but there just to big. My boyfriend had the Hickory Smoked Baby Back Ribs and they were just to die for. We are planning on going back for Thanksgiving as last year. Great place to spend time with family. more

This place is a dirty hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant needs major remodeling, or just be completely demolished! Carpets have 2 inches of dust that just flies up on your dishes when you walk. We came in around 8pm and were one of the last groups left before they closed (around 10pm). At around 9:30pm we were almost being chased out by the owners (who just sat there next to us, speaking whatever language, and giving us looks like they had somewhere to be.) more

Food was bland, and asked for the ""special"" which was surf and turf (lobster and steak). Note that priced separately the steak and lobster were about $25 each. Tried asking the server for the price of the special. She said don't worry, its a good deal..... Price came out to $90 per person for the ""special."" Now I know that special doesn't mean a cheaper price, but to up-charge the price of something like that was preposterous. Tried talking to the manager and was told that We had to pay, so we did. But we will never come back and want everyone to know that Not only was the food just OK, the service was terrible and NO ONE in the restaurant has any customer service!!! more

Let me tell you, We've have dined here manny times, and always great service , Great Food. BUT, The Pumpkin Martinis for the Fall season are Awsome. And Jennifer makes the Best Cosmos. All in all this place is a Greatplace to get together with Friends. Luv IT!!!! more

We have not been to the new Porterhouse Steak house in Burr Ridge. As a first time customer I would offer a word of advice to ask prices of specials. The wait staff didn't offer a price when the specials were read. I had thought to order a different cut of meat except when I was offered a special my thoughts were exactly that a special. But I guess this doesn't mean a good price. A $50 piece of meat 1/4 the size of a strip steak is not worth the price. A good lesson learned. more

Start out with the Shrimp DeJonghe or the Calamari - Saganaki is also fantastic. Lunch or dinner. Steaks are beyond compare. Try the ""Steak Renee."" Seafood? They got that -- I went for the Seafood Cioppino. It's got shrijmp, clams, clalamari and fish with some kind of mushrooms and peppers. But, then again, the Grouper or Whitefish is always a good bet. Good wine list. Staff willing and able - service is good. I haven't gotten into the Lobster or Crab yet. It has to be just as good. MapQuest the place. It's worth it. more

Awesome steaks and incredible service at great prices. The filet melts in your mouth and the bread is awesome. We always take friends here when they are visiting from out of town and we have never been disappointed. Pros: Food service and prices are all great!! Cons: I can't think of any negatives! more

U just can't help the feeling of at some point in time you have been there before. Very homely feeling and excellent food.
