They've seen the last of me. I had been a fairly regular customer for years. Always asked for ice water to drink, and added a packet of "Crystal Lite", which I always carry in ...

This a great place for breakfast. Not real fancy but really good food.\r I do not think you need to say more. The lines can get a little long especially at peak times on Sunday but the wait is usually not to bad. \r more

Pot-of-Gold at the End of the Rainbow 6/1/2009

We arrived to find a long line out the door and down the sidewalk. As we decided not to wait, another customer told us the line goes real fast. And, it did. We were at our table within 10 minutes; what a surprise. It turned out to be one of the best kept secrets in the Northeast area of the Metroplex. Our food was wonderful, the servers and other front of the house staff were very friendly and best of all, everyone who works there is a happy person. After a few minutes, we felt like we had just come home to all of our friends. It was like finding a pot-of-gold at the end of the rainbow. Pros: Friendly, fun, fast and great food and service Cons: No Cons more

Beware of the Food Police! 1/24/2008

Beware of Poor Richards policy of not allowing diners to share their food without paying an extra share $$fee. My wife and I often share and never before run into this situation before, she is a light eater and often will order a side dish. She usually will take a few bites out of my plate. But at Poor Richards, we were told that this was forbidden and that they would have to charge a sharing fee. We told the waitress that this was ridiculous, but she said that it was their policy. This conversation reminded me of chicken salad sandwich diner scene from the movie ?Five Easy Pieces?. We decided it was not worth arguing about and left, went down the street to Denny?s and had breakfast the way we wanted it w/o food police standing watch. Note: We have eaten breakfast at Poor Richards before and their food is par with Denny?s and IHOP, but I did like their home fries. But after this experience, we will never visit them again! Pros: Home Fries Cons: Cannot share food more

Best Breakfast in North Dallas Area 7/11/2006

Awesome place. Usually busy, but never a long wait. Bacon Cheeseburger Omelet has all the taste that you'll want and it comes with homemade onion rings. Great pancakes and biscuits and gravy. I like it now especially that they started taking credit cards. Eggs Benedict are the best around. Nice, clean atmosphere. Staff really hustle and get the job done. Gingerbread pancakes are like eating dessert for breakfast. Lots of locals. Chicken-fried steak is crunchy and tender. You can get it with breakfast also. They do a great job with lunch platters plenty of choices including many vegetables. You won't feel like you're being ripped off with the prices. Fried chicken is better than the Colonel's. By the way breakfast is served all day. Pros: Friedly Staff, Fair Prices, Now Take Credit Cards Cons: No Dinner or Delivery more

Great Value Dining 4/21/2003

I've dined here for years. I'm always impressed with the excellent consistency of the food and the service. The same waitstaff have been there forever. They seem to have very little turnover. The folks are always friendly and eager to please. My drink is always kept filled. I just love their breakfasts. The eggs are perfectly cooked, and they have delicious thick biscuits and home fries. The BBQ Chicken Omelet is almost addictive its so good. They make a fantastic chicken fried steak that they serve with a Texas Breakfast. You get a lot of food for the money. At lunch they do homemade specials each day. Monday and Tuesday are two of my favorites-- an awesome Fried Chicken and then Chicken and Dumplings just like my mom made. Every once and awhile Ill treat myself to cobbler and ice cream. Pros: Fast Seating, Lots of Parking, Large Menu Cons: Cash Only, Not Open for Dinner more
