The people at Pool Covers, Inc. have come every time I've called. They responded promptly and appropriately with any issues I've had, and have resolved them. The other thing I liked about Pool Covers, Inc. was that they could have replaced some things but they didn't do it because it would have cost me more money. They weren't trying to change out for the sake of changing out. I'd recommend Pool Covers, Inc. I have no hesitation in recommending them! more

The pool is located in a fenced in locked pool yard. No children are present. The pool cover has been operating for 6 years. The main travel bar fell out of the track. The plastic slides had disintegrated and needed replacement. The service person arrived 2 business days after call, refused to service the cover as he said I needed to purchase a new cover and they would not do anything to make the cover work until I bought a new cover. The cover was leaking along a fold that has been in the cover since their original installation. It is the height of my season, I use the cover to maintain heat in the water during the cold evenings. I have one more month of renters who expect warm water. They cannot repair or replace the cover for approximately a month. After begging them, they left the parts and told me I could repair it myself. They charged me over $100. for this "service". RESPONSE FROM Pool Covers, Inc.: First, please note that it only took us two days to get out on service call to her house. This is very good. When we got there we discovered that the cover at this property was eight years old and could not be repaired. Great longevity on this fabric. The customer requested that we leave replacement parts for her and that was what we charged for. All of our covers are custom made and a replacement cover during the height of the summer can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. It is unfortunate that we could not make this customer happy. I have done business with this company for over 25 years with 3 different swimming pools.I lived in San Rafael back in the 80's when my children were young & the founder of the company sold me my first safety cover. My second home was in Atherton & my pool builder told me he would not use any other company. My current home is in the Hayward Hills & a different builder told me the same thing when I told him I wanted my pool cover installed by Pool Covers Inc. A real live person answers the phone when I call for any reason. The President answered the phone last week after 3 rings & she let me know that she and all of the other employees now own the company. It is called an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. more

They are a responsible company and if there's ever a question of a cover not operating correctly, they will be there to fix it quickly. Pool Covers came out, measured our pool, and came with optional quotes and a variety of different solutions. They met all of our needs. They did it in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. The cover looks beautiful; we get comments on it all the time. The safety value here is exceptional. I think that Pool Covers was very accessible. They were able to work within our framework of budget constraints and what we wanted to achieve for our pool. They were everything we could ask for in a pool cover company. more

May 19,2009 I had my Pool cover installed about a little more than 3 years ok. I like the safety feature of the cover but hate the rest. The manual tracking already broke once for no reason and Pool covers came out to fix it. The material can?t be kept clean and looks awful about couple of month and the rain. The color fades fast from the sun and stays dirty all the time no matter how much simple green you use to clean it. The pump for the top of the cover is poor quality and constantly needs to be taken apart to work again. The cover went of track several times and the last time the service tech came he was out maybe 10 minutes to perform maintenance and we ended up paying around $100 for nothing. The service tech notices that the roller is bend for no reason ( we don?t sit on the dam thing or do anything with it) and the material showed corrosion already. After several phone call attempts I finally received a call back from a very nice lady. She was checking with the service tech and Manager who never returned my phone calls and was going to get back in touch with me. She did call me back while I was in a meeting the next day and left a message to give her a call. I did twice left message and never heard anything back. With the recent hot weather we noticed that there is always moisture and little puddles of water on the cover at the location were the material is clued together from the inside. I called last week and was told that someone will call me with a service appointment. Never heard from them until a voicemail today that there will stop by today to take a look at it. Well nobody is home and the dogs are in the backyard. After calling customer service I talked to Julie I believe that was extremely rude and told me that now there would be out after Memorial Day, since this is an employee owned company I would expect a better customer service and follow up from Pool Cover Inc. There are a lot of options out there and I would defiantly look for another company next time I need a pool cover installed. Pros: Safety product Cons: poor quality and customer service more
