Great thin crust artisan pizzas! 12/5/2010

I wrote this review while I was at Pitfire staring at their giant oven while salivating. But of course Yelp doesn't allow Blackberry users to write reviews on mobile Yelp so I am writing it now! Date: Friday, November 5 Time: 6:20ish Last time I came here for happy hour it was right as it started so not that many people were here yet! This time it was right in the middle of the dinner rush, little kids were bumping into strangers waiting in line, business men were in line with freshly loosened ties, cute girls were working the counter with bubbly personalities, and people in their early 20's were ordering pitchers of beer! After I put in a order for a pizza, I sat at the counter and watched the chefs toss the pies and do their magic of sprinkling on fresh ingredients. There is no case here with pre-made pizzas waiting for you, all the pizzas and other dishes are made fresh in front of you. While waiting I met (one of the?)owners, a sweet patient handsome guy in his mid 30's/ earrrrly 40's named David. We had a good conversation after he found out I ordered a pepperoni pizza that "we weren't going to have pepperoni on the menu you know" Thank god they do!!!! The way the pepperoni smells as it fizzles and intertwines with the other smells of the basil and other goodness. "We get it from this guy up in San Francisco at a place Zoe's meats" On top of that they have a happy hour annnd they take the KCRW Fringe Benefits card!!! The two flat screens playing movies like Hook will keep your kids from running around. Very fun and comfortable and family geared. Can you spot the Bicycles up toward the ceiling? I will be back, of course!!! more

Great pizzas 5/25/2010

Pitfire pizzas are very tasty and full of flavors as they are baked in a brick oven and they are made with fresh ingredients. I love their thin crust! Their chopped italian salad is also delicious but quite small for the price. I like to go there or place an order directly on their web site to be delivered at home. They messed up my online orders 2-3 times last year (delivered small pizza instead of large; some items were missing...) but I have ordered there a couple of times for the past couple of months and it was fine. Pros: Fresh ingredients; thin crust pizzas Cons: Messed up my internet orders several times more

Good Experience 9/22/2009

I appreciate and applaud the efficiency of the delivery service. I also was a huge fan of the fresh arrugula, which is a rare ingredient in the pizza world, being placed on the pizza after it was cooked. This was a pleasant experience, though I have had better. I certainly would and will go back. Pros: Quick delivery / fresh ingredients Cons: price more

The best pizza I have found on the West Coast. The ingredients are always fresh and they use an authentic brick oven - yes it does make a difference. Once you try them, you'll definitely be back for more :-) Pros: Fresh ingredients, Authentic Brick Oven Pizza Cons: luch times can get busy more

Went from Best Place to Worst 5/1/2009

Wow, I have been a loyal customer here for 2 years now. My wife and i used to go 3-4 times a week. They had the best panini sandwich and bbq chicken salad we could have ever asked for. Up until they changed their menu recently... Its just not the same place. They use cheaper ingrediance now, the chicken panini sandwich is different, they completley stripped the bbq chicken salad from the menu. But increased the number of pasta dishes... which is a sign of declining quality. Pitfire Co. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR MENU BACK ! Pros: pizza Cons: sandwich, salads, pasta, everything else more
