First Equity Card 11/3/2011

A few days ago received a call from Oxford Law Office regarding First Equity Card account. Never heard of First Equity before and account had been delinquent for seven or eight years. First Equity closed and accounts were sold to companies like Genisis, Pinnacle, and others that buy these accounts for five cents on the dollar. Oxford had run information and asset checks on the name on the account and probably sent collection letters to all or just arbitraily assigned their collection efforts. It is a total scam. I don't understand how they can just file a bad debt report. more

WORST EVER 9/21/2011

I wish there could be negative stars for this organization. Worst, most rude and disrespectful agents I have EVER encountered. My issue was erroneous and disputed but it took FOREVER to get that done. I cannot tell you how many times I was hung up on and how many times they refused to answer any of my inquiries. This place really needs to be shut down by the BBB. It is beside me how they are still allowed to function. It surprised me no one has gone postal on that place yet. more

Crazy Company 8/26/2009

I also recieved a third party attempt at collections for Pinnacle from Nelson Watson and Associates. I paid the bill in full in July 2008. IT IS STILL ON MY CREDIT REPORT TODAY AS UNPAID!!! This is insane. I contacted Nelson, Watson, Associates and they were very pleasant. They said that they had processed my payment onto Pinnacle in August of 08 and didn't know why Pinnacle was still reporting it. So I disputed it through Equifax, and Pinnacle came back with a report that I still had never made a payment! SO then I talked to a nice supervisor named Brent at Nelson Watson, and he said that the person he had processed my payment to at Pinnacle had gotten fired at the end of July 08 and nobody there had bothered to follow up on it. Pinnacle is really unprofessional. I think this might get resolved now in the next few weeks since I made Brent call Pinnacle and he sent me a letter stating it is paid in full, so at least I have something to show people running my credit report. But as of this date the Pinnacle charge is STILL on my credit report. more

More Scamming 7/17/2009

I too received a credit notice in the mail from a 3rd party stating the I owe $$ to Pinnacle. Once I called to investigate and dispute, I found out they are trying to collect unpaid utility payments for an account opened in 2003 that I'd vacated the year prior. Now I have to be the one to do all of the leg work to prove that the outstanding money (if there really is any) is not mine and that I was in fact living somewhere else at the time they claim I was there. What a gyp! Pros: They are pros at theivery Cons: It's just a hassle to deal with more

Fraudulent derogatory credit entries, refusal to amend 2/24/2008

What horrible dogs. Last July Pinnacle purchased an erroneous chargeoff from Verizon Wireless and began harassing me by telephone. I contacted Verizon immediately, and they promptly gave Pinnalce notice to cease collection calls and to remove any derogatory credit entries. I discovered around February 1, 2008, that Pinnacle had not removed the derogatory entries and contacted Verizon again, along with filing a dispute through the credit bureau. In two weeks Pinnacle has ignored both Verizon and my dispute while telling Verizon that they removed the entries. more

DONT PAY THESE BOTTOM FEEDING COLLECTORS 2/18/2008

I Hope they burn in hell. They hide behind people's fear and ignorance of their rights They count on you not to bother reporting them to Federal Trade Commision, or state attorney general , or state liscening board or to your state rep or congress person. Make them afraid of righteous consumers take back your dignity take back you privacy take back your rights. Cons: they are criminals more

Pinnacle is a big fraud. You know these collection companies buy old or written off debt from other creditors who have received payment via writing off the debt, and having default insurance. These kinds of companies like Pinnacle buy these old debts for $1, and then they pursue individuals by any means necessary. Most times unsuspecting consumers will contact the company, and unknowingly validate the debt by giving them personal information like the social security number, birth date and current address. Don't be deceived...if you don't recognize the debt, dispute it in writing...being careful not to divulge your personal information. If you really owed the debt and it was valid...these fools would already have your personal information! Pros: They have a good hustle...if they can get you to assume the debt Cons: They list bad debt on your credit without verifying it...they leave it to you to contact them more

PINNACLE CREDIT & STEVE ARE WORKING WITH MERCHANTS CREDIT GUIDE OF CHICAGO! 12/22/2007

Not too bright 11/26/2007

This credit agency has called my house more than 20 times looking for someone else. Telling them to stop calling has made no difference. They are too lazy to bother looking up my name and confirming that the phone number they have belongs to me and not this other person. Gee, if they really want to collect a bad debt wouldn't it make sense to call the right number? Pros: Slightly smarter than apes Cons: Not quite human more

Fraud! 9/6/2007

I have recently been able to pay off all my debt and three months later I received this letter stating that I owed Pinnacle for a sum of $6000, but they will gladly take $3000. I had never heard of Pinnacle or even had a Wachovia account before, also never owed that much all at once on any credit. I called an old business that I once owed to to ask if they could answer any questions about this before I called Pinnacle. This other company explained that if I really owed that much that by law I would have had my wages garnished and that it was probably a scam to get more money out of me. So I call Pinnacle with my reference number and oddly they cannot furnish any information regarding to the account unless I gave them my SSN and bank account #. So I tell them no and call back the other company to ask more questions. They said if I gave them that info they would have taken that as a confirmation to allow them to take any amount they wished. And by not having my personal information this is further proof that I never owed anything to begin with. This is a form of fraud that cannot be taken to court because it looks like you payed them. Also you cannot take them to court for any previous reasons because they have not taken any money. I can only imagine the people this company takes advantage of through this new and legal form of fraud. Pros: They know how to work the system.. Cons: They will take your money for something you never owe. more

they are a collector 6/7/2007

Pinnacle Credit Services is a collection agency. You would not have opened an account with them. They are likely collecting for a credit card. I do credit counseling for a nonprofit agency and they are a common collector. If you contact them, they should be able to tell you who the original creditor was, but typically that information will be included on your credit report. Make sure you are aware of your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Act as well as Fair Credit Reporting Act. Best source for that is the Federal Trade Commission or FTC.gov. Good luck! more

No account with this company- Can someone help 5/28/2007

Response to hibababs: This too happened to my husband. We checked his credit report and Pinnacle was on there for an account opened on 02/01/2007. We have not opened any accounts with this company. I just wanted to know what others did in this situation. more

Appear on Credit Report, but no account with them 3/21/2007

Pinnacle Credit Service just appeared on my credit report as being seriously delinquent. I have no idea who they are, nor have I ever opened an account with them. They couldn't even contact me to give me a chance to clear things up. What kind of company is this? If I would have an past due account with them, wouldn't you think they would send me a letter, call me, etc. before reporting me to the Credit Bureaus? Now I am trying to get this cleared up, but still no response and it has been almost a month. Thanks to them my credit score dropped by 70 points. It really would have been nice if they would have contacted me first. But obviously they didn't think this was necessary. What does it matter to them if they ruin somebodies credit.? I would never do business with a company who very apparently don't give a damn out people. more
