A few days ago received a call from Oxford Law Office regarding First Equity Card account. Never heard of First Equity before and account had been delinquent for seven or eight years. First Equity closed and accounts were sold to companies like Genisis, Pinnacle, and others that buy these accounts for five cents on the dollar. Oxford had run information and asset checks on the name on the account and probably sent collection letters to all or just arbitraily assigned their collection efforts. It is a total scam. I don't understand how they can just file a bad debt report.
