My roommate took me to Pink Berry for a relatively-late-night snack, and I was definitely suprised (and a little bummed) that I wouldn't be able to order my usual strawberry froyo with rainbow sprinkles. Nonetheless, I was intrigued. I decided to go for the green tea (as i'm a huge fan) flavor and walnuts to top. \r

Here's where I was really thrown: there's a reason why there are no gummy bears or sprinkles to be seen. They don't serve Frozen Yogurt at Pink Berry. They serve yogurt that is frozen. As in dannon yogurt. As in the containers of yogurt that so many people take in the car on their way to work because hey, it's easy and healthy. And, most unfortunately, as in the yogurt that I have never, ever liked. \r

I have to admit -- the premise is clever. And, having locations in health and body image conscious SoCal, it makes sense that Pink Berry serves what it does. Turning a breakfast item into dessert is a cool idea -- were I of the yogurt-enjoying crowd, I'd have the good folks at Pink Berry pile strawberries and granola onto my medium frozen yogurt. But alas, I am not.\r

If you like yogurt, you'll love this place. But if not....beware. I did mildly enjoy my selection, but I will admit that the second my roommate and I got back into the car to take our 'desserts' home to eat, I promptly declared that I would probably never go back voluntarily. Unless, of course, I get a random craving for green tea frozen yogurt with non-candy toppings. I guess we'll see.
Pros: Late hours, healthy, good selection of toppings
Cons: trendy
