We stopped by Pie in the Sky while we were visiting Nashville last weekend. It has a big WOW factor. The atmosphere is awesome. The food was delicious. AND they have 2 for 1 beers. Yes please! We will definitely be stopping by Pie in the Sky next time we are in the Nashville area. more

Good Old Fashioned Southern Hospitality 8/8/2011

Without a doubt, Pie in the Sky is the best pizza in Nashville. They really go above and beyond to provide excellent quality in their ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite. The people are so nice. I usually pick up my food and take it home. When I walk in the door I'm greeted by a friendly hostess. Then I'll head up to the bar to grab the food. They'll ask if I want a drink while I'm waiting for the pizza. Sometimes I'll grab a beer or a glass of wine if the pizzas aren't ready yet. Then as I'm leaving they offer to give me some parm and crushed red pepper to go. About 5 people say 'have a nice day' as you're leaving. Now that's what I call good old fashioned southern hospitality.“ more

Be Warned 6/17/2011

we have been here many times and it has been great. But NOW service and food quality has rapidly declined. We were there a few Friday nights ago and were subjected to a woman ( who held herself out to be the manager) spending most of her time talking with an older couple in the booth next to us. She was speaking in a very loud voice about her desires to be an actor/model in New York... She came back to that table numerous times, ignoring her work....speaking about her " work husband" who came up and chatted as well to these people. The other staff were obviously trying to get her attention to take calls, etc, but it was very obvious to us that she had her own agenda and it was VERY distracting. Our service which had always been great before, was also lacking this evening. Our server, a young lady, was very disinterested in doing her job. We have always enjoyed Pie in the Sky, but will never be back after this display of behavior. Owners of businesses....please supervise your employees. more

Amore! 1/11/2011

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie--that's amore! Well, Pie in the Sky for me was love at first sight. Watched the game last night at the Cool Springs location. Buy one get one free Miler Lite and the carnivore pizza and buffalo wings are out of this world. The wings are jumbo size and not fatty like other places tend to serve. Definitely worth the trek in the snow. more

pie in the sky party 1/7/2011

We had our work party at pie in the sky last night and were pleased with the experience. I reserved the party room area for a couple hours and ordered a variety of large pizzas. The Carnivore, Herbivore, White Pizza, Margherita, Supreme Happy Family and a couple cheese and pepperoni. We also order a couple wing samplers. The waitress set up a long table so people could grab what they wanted. It was perfect! There was enough room to sit or stand and walk around. I'm so glad we chose to have the party here. more

Happy Family 12/31/2010

This was a great place to duck in during the holiday traffic near the Cool Springs mall. My kids saw Santa Claus driving around in a Pie in the Sky car and begged to go. We hadn't been before, but were pleasantly surprised. Our waiter suggested their version of a supreme pizza called a Happy Family pizza. The combination of meats for me and veggies for my wife hit the spot. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza for the kids. We saw a sign that said, "Hey Kids! Ask for Dough!" near the kitchen window. We asked our waitor about it and he said that they give kids balls of pizza dough to play with. My children enjoyed making their own pizza by playing while my wife and I could kept an eye on them from a table nearby. I give this place two thumbs up. We'll be back. more

Falling down where it once was good 12/29/2010

So, I've eaten there many times...seven years ago it was quite frequently...but less so as we felt they had changed the quality of their ingredients and the restaurant became a little dirtier and the service less helpful. The cheese used to be quite good but now it is pasty and even if you pay for extra cheese, you end up with less than you might see elsewhere. We had visitors in town and they remembered eating there and liking it some time ago...we went with concerns that they would be disappointed and we all were. It started at the front desk. When I asked how long the wait might be, the answer was given with a sigh and no smile even though there were not that many people asking and our request was given gently. The escort to the table was just follow me with no welcome with menus thrown in a pile. Half our drink order was forgotten and we had to request again and the root beer we ordered was colored soda water. When they acknowledged that it was because they had run out of root beer, there was no friendly apology but a "well what do you want". The table smelled of sour bleach cleaning solution and the floor was dirty. The crust remains decent but this is not a cheap place to eat given the decline in the quality of the food served, the lack of attention to how it is served, and the lack of attention to how clean the restaurant is. Again, once was a favorite...now never again. (And don't try to complain through their website...no feedback form and no e-mail address...so don't bother giving them any suggestions online). more

Pie in the sky 11/26/2010

We have always enjoyed Pie in the Sky but the customer service is horrible. We have tried to call and put our name on a list. They say there is not a wait and can't put your name on a list. We showed up and it was a 45 minute wait. We asked to speak to the manager when we got there to ask about the process and she was absolutely no help. Didn't apologize, didn't offer to help, just acted like we were bothering them to be in the restaurant. more

Family friendly & Adult Friendly 7/14/2010

I love Pie in the Sky in Cool Springs because it's so versatile! It's family friendly and adult friendly. One night I can take my kids, who will play with dough and "make their own pizza." Then the next night I am able to go again with my girl friends and sit in the adult section. We can sip our Happy Hour wine (buy one get one free) with a partition separating us from the family side of the restaurant. I highly recommend eating here with friends and family! Pros: adult section, family section more

Great place for Lunch 2/10/2010

I don't often write reviews but this place has great pizza and yes I cannot get enough of their fruit tea. Its really good stuff. Sometimes I will go in and buy it buy the gallon!! Go for lunch and try the fruit tea!!! Pros: The Fruit tea! Cons: None that I know of more

A real Pizzeria! 2/10/2010

I really thought the ole pizzerias were dead and gone but Pie in the Sky is so much fun! My boyfriend and I came in and had a great glass of Chianti while we waited to be seated and it was fun watching the kids play with dough and the servers all seemed so happy to be there and the bar atmosphere was great too. we opted for the bar since the wait was a little crazy. We sat down and Lisa took great care of us. The HDTVs are fun and having sports pizza and wine was wonderful. I thought this kind of place doesn't exist any more so it was a great find. Pros: Its so much fun. Great staff and food! Cons: Can be a long wait on the weekend more

I have an addiction 2/10/2010

My husband and I go every so often when we are in the mood for great pizza. Now I must warn you , you are going to spend a pretty dime for the pizza here but its well worth it. We love the Pesto pizza and sometime we get a very unique pizza called The Shrimp Scampi pizza. They are both delicious and the crust for the pizza here is amazing. We are told the dough is made in house and I can believe it. I know peoples favorite pizza is a very personal thing but you really cant beat the pizza here. We have tried mafioso's and Mellow Mushroom and haven't been impressed. You have to try and make sure you get call ahead seating on the weekends! Pros: Spiral bread Spiral Bread Cons: can get crowded more

I love this place!!! 2/10/2010

I have to say that when I first walked in and saw all the kids playing with dough I thought that the pizza might be sub-par. No WAY!!! The Pizza is amazing! I love the wings as well and I haven't any better. My buddies and I like hanging out during the weekdays and having some drinks at the bar while we consume massive amounts of wings and pizza. Any one who doesn't like this pizza doesn't know anything about pizza and probably only eats at Pizza Hut! Pros: HDTVS & 2 for 1 Beers Cons: NONE!! more

The best in nashville 2/10/2010

We moved from Chicago and had been looking for a great pizza place. While pie in the Sky doesn't serve Chicago style pizza we love this place! There is a dough bar for the kids to watch the pizza being made and the crust on their pizza is to die for. Glenn who is the manager at the one in Cool Springs is great with our kids and is always welcoming. If your looking for the best pizza around go to Pie in the Sky!! Our family loves it. Don't forget the 2 for 1 beers!! Pros: The Spiral bread is awesome Cons: They dont deliver in my area! more

What a Joke 2/4/2010

I have been going there from time to time for roughly a year now and am fed up with paying $20+ for a large pizza. I have no problem paying a higher price for pizza or anything else well worth it. However, I would hardly consider ghetto cooked (well done) chicken on top of greased filled pizza dough quite worth the money. Even past that. I could even look past the food for the most part but the SERVICE!!! Awful. I left my pizza to g box on the table while in the bathroom (keys, phone and jacket still there) and when I came out they had thrown it away. The manger told me it was on "its way to the garbage", turned his back and walked away. Frankly, I have met retarded. people with more common sense. If you like it, great, you're an idiot. Pros: they serve beer Cons: overpriced, managment & service terrible more

Fun place to go and a good beer selection 7/20/2009

We like to have dinner late, but we don't like to eat at chain restaurants. This is not that easy to accomplish in Franklin. We're always surprised at how early restaurants close. Pie in the Sky is a fun place to go and is open past 9PM! The staff has always been fun and friendly, the pizza is good...although the sauce could use a little more zing to it. The beer selection is good too. Neither of us care for the Yazoo or Sweetwater beers that seem to be everywhere and Pie in the Sky has plenty of alternatives. You gotta have cold beer with pizza! Pros: Friendly, fun Cons: sauce a little bit bland more

Good pizza, good fun 5/4/2009

My kids love this place. The food is good, the pizza topping abundant. and the atmosphere is fun. We've gone on Friday nights and got to listen to some great local talent. The kids love to watch them make the pizzas. We've had team parties in their party room and the kids always had a great time. more

Fantastic new location in Midtown really does it right!! 12/6/2008

I just discovered Pie In The Sky's new Midtown location, and i was BLOWN AWAY!! They've added an awesome patio onto the front of the old Longhorn steakhouse location on Lyle Ave off West End. They've expanded their two for one drafts to all day every day. They're staying open until 2 am most nights, and their food is better than ever!! My brother was happy that he could smoke on the enclosed patio, and the vibe inside the restaurant was as hip as any place off, or on, West End. We're planning on trying their late night scene soon. Apparently, Henry and the Seahawks are playing every Thursday PM. We had a great lunch of quickly-served custom slices with piles of chunky, fresh toppings, and a delicious jumbo wing sampler with numerous savory and spicy sauces. The service was attentive and professional without being stuffy, i.e. HIP: everything that I love about Midtown!! We'll be back very soon. Pros: Free Parking, Great Draft Beer, the BEST Pizza around!! more

Excellent Pizza and Atmosphere 11/21/2008

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of pizza and I have to say that this is my 2nd favorite pizza place EVER (2nd only to Mellow Mushroom). The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is fun (planets and astronauts theme). I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. If you like pizza you will love it! more

OMG! SOOOO GOOD!! Best in the South!!! 11/1/2008

We live in Memphis and my family and I went for a quick trip to Nashville on Thursday. Someone recommended us going to Pie because it was kid friendly. OMG! I was blown away with how good it was. The "Traditional" wings were the best I have ever had- perfect spice and texture. I wanted to try the many other varieties they offered but needed to save room for the pizza and that was the fantastic part!! I really couldn't get enough of their pizza. I had a thin crust veggie. A perfect amount of sauce and cheese and great crust, crispy and flavorful. So, goooood, what is their secret ingredient?!?! Also, I really like the fact that they use all fresh ingredients like REAL sliced mushrooms, not the canned ones! Apparently they are a Franklin fixture (suburb of Nashville) but we went to the newest store on Lyle Street near Vanderbilt because it was by our destination. I really liked the atmosphere (cozy, warm and a cool scene). If I did not have kids, I would have loved to hang out and drink a pitcher of beer. Lastly, I met the owners (a husband and wife team). They were checking on the service at each of the tables. It made me like this place even more because they seemed like really nice, hard working, honest people... a true American "Mom and Pop" operation. Anyway, I just wanted people to know what great food they have- it is rare to be so enthusiastic about a restaurant. We use to live in NYC and got use to really good pizza. Since we've been back South nothing seems to compare except... finally... I have found Pie in the Sky!! I only wish they would build one in Memphis! Pros: Fantastic food!! Great service! Family friendly! Cons: Really none! more
