Short Review: ?Two thumbs up for a 5 star pet hotel, if you can leave your baby here, you should not even consider any other facility?.
We left our spoiled miniature schnoodle, Dali, with them for 8 nights in May 2011.
First, this is a hotel, and would not even imagine calling it a kennel. After all the other places I've seen in the area, Philly Pet Hotel is in a class its own. The decor is very tasteful, colorful, neat and sparkling clean.
The ?rooms? for the pets are cute and clean. They do not have ?stacked? areas. Each dog has its own room. The dogs can see the dog across from them but not beside them. We took Dali?s own crate, which they happily accommodated, and it fell to the back of the smallest suite. Their ?luxury suites? are a little bigger and more private. I opted to go with the regular suites as the luxury suites would be too big for Dali.
Second, when I called Jared, he took the time to answer ALL of my questions. He is just a very pleasant and an amazing person. Highlights of their services for me:
- they have staff on site 24 hours a day, the dogs are never left alone
- you can mix and match services, you don?t have to have the same service every day
- they do not charge you extra for the basics (i.e relief walks, feeding his own food)
- they have a vet available to them, in case of any adverse situations
- if Dali is not doing well with the activities, room etc that we chose for him, Jared will call us and let us know of the required changes (A+)
- we can pick-up after hours (an additional fee albeit), instead of leaving him there for an extra day during a holiday
- they require bordatella vaccines every 6 months, Dali?s was up a week prior to our departure, but they offer to provide the vaccine instead of having you run to the vet etc.
Prior to check in, I was gladly given a full tour of the facility without an appointment. I was surprised to see that with all the dogs that they had, there were no dog waste or anything outside in their play ground or where the dogs are taken out. This was unlike ANY other place I?ve been to.
Third, when dropping Dali off, we had an early flight and they were extremely quick with check in, making sure we said goodbye to him.
Jared gave us his card and said that we could email or call him if we had any questions, and just to check on how he?s doing. I didnt have to worry about Dali knowing that he was in great hands. Still, I wrote to Jared to check, and he gave me a report back on Dali?s activities and how he was doing in general. An added comfort for us while on vacation.
Fourth, when picking up Dali, after hours on our way home from the airport, they were equally accommodating. His toys and belongings were neatly packed up and waiting for us. Dali had been washed, brushed and groomed and even had a Philly Pet Hotel blue bandanna on, he looked unbelievably cute! Dali was happy to see us, but he was not ?clingy? or shook up. After saying hello he went back to Meghan and lied in front of her as if to say goodbye. This was my ultimate sign that they were sincerely good with him. Dali was calm, playful and in a very pleasant mood.
Lastly, the pricing is extremely reasonable compared to other places. I cannot even compare the service, skills and the attitude at the Philly Pet Hotel with any of the others I?ve been to before.
The Philly Pet hotel is the only place I will ever leave Dali moving forward. Jared and his staff are the only folks I would trust to pamper Dali at least as much as I do! They are clearly doing what they love to do, have the dog?s best interest in mind and are aware of how the smallest things make a big difference. I love the staff?s attitude with us and Dali as well as the fact that they are all knowledgeable about dog-care. I cannot express how happy I am that we have such a great place near us now too!
