This place is a medicine show. They are only interested in making money, not your beloved pet. Once they start treatment on your pet, you will never be able to get in touch with anyone who can help you or answer your questions over the phone. You will find that your important calls are anwered by someone with very limited experience, or they will tell you to ""come in tomorrow.if you care about getting your sick pet the best treatment, stay away from this place. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/27/2013

My three year old healthy mini schnauzer was sick last week. Wouldn't come out of his crate. Took him on Tuesday to my local vet All Pets Health in Spring Hill, TN b/c he was definitely not himself. I was told his platelet count was around 78,000 which was a little low considering normal ranges are around 200,000. They prescribed Prednisone, a muscle relaxer and a pain med b/c they also said he had back pain. Two days on the meds, my pup wouldn't eat.\r \r They ran tests again on him on Friday and saw his platelet count had increased 10,000. Saturday he still wasn't eating so we made him some fresh chicken and rice. He did eat some chicken but threw it up multiple times during the evening and had bloody stool.\r \r On Sunday morning, he was again not wanting to get up and I had to drag him out of the crate to go to the bathroom. He still wouldn't eat and still had bloody stool. I decided to take him to Blue Pearl. They immediately put him on fluids and an antibiotic. At this point, I still had no idea what was wrong with my dog. Were these side effects from the medication or was it a fluke that we stumbled upon his low platelets from running blood work? They called their internal medicine vet and he basically told us we had to spend up to $3,000 to run more test to establish what was wrong with our pet. Meanwhile he was declining.\r \r Two days later, $2,000 later, basically Blue Pearl told me that I should put down my 3 year old puppy who had never had any health issues. Very disturbed and upset I spoke with my father who mentioned I should contact his vet. I did that immediately and was told to transfer my pup over to Dr. Fly at the Nolensville Animal Hospital in Nolensville, TN. I did that and 2 days later and only $700, my pup is eating again, blood work is gradually increasing back to normal levels and he is feeling more like his old self again. Please, please take my advice and seek second opinions b/c it felt like if you didn't have thousands of dollars to throw at Blue Pearl, then there recommendation is just to put your loved one down.\r more

Not a good experience 12/3/2011

I feel that this place is most concerned with making money. The Doctor we saw was overactive and dramatic. I felt that she was trying to play on our emotions in an urgent situation to line their pockets. She was eager to run as many test as possible and then insisted she stay over night with an IV. She even went as far as to suggest we start her on a toxic and life altering medication for a completely separate issue that I didn't even bring her in for and that my normal vet had advised me not to do. She also did not even offer pricing until I asked and then acted as if I were a bad owner for not being okay with paying for things she did not need. My dog has these issues frequently and the treatment my local vet gives is very accurate and effective each time. That is how I know this doctor was way off. She seemed very inexperienced. I have seen several bad reviews on this place and a few that say they pay commission to doctors which means they make more money the more services they sell. The wait and time we spent for what little we had done seemed unnecessary. I will not being going back. Should have read the reviews first! more

Do NOT take your pet here unless it is an extreme emergency! 7/4/2011

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I brought my cat in with an abscess. She was in severe pain, but the vet waited nearly an hour before giving her a sedative and then only b/c I demanded it. The staff was unresponsive when I heard my cat screaming. They refused to let her see me although I told them she was a rescue cat and very nervous around strangers. There were no other emergency pets present, and I still waited over 3 hours! The vet refused to give me a copy of the records for my insurance (They said they would fax them ""in a few days."") They also had two toxic plants in the lobby where pets wait. Either they are incompetent or just don't care about animals. I shudder to think how they treat pets whose owners don't wait in the lobby and demand to know what's going on! Horrible, horrible people. Take your vet here only as a last resort. more

Sun 4/17 Ginger and I said our last goodbye 4/17/2011

Ginger was transfered to the expert care of Dr. Piscitelli on Sat. He kept me informed as to what he found and explained my options. i received numerous updates and saw they were doing everything they could for her. When I chose to end her life on Sun. Dr P and the staff made me feel very comfortable and the experience as hard as it is to lose a loved one was done easily and peacefully in my arms. more

Great Medical staff 1/16/2011

The medical staff was very attentive to my dog's needs. We were seen quickly and the Vet spent alot of time explaining the situation and our options. more

Don't go here 1/1/2011

I tend to agree that money matters more than good care. After going here I had friends tell me they were sorry I had not called them first. They said this place use to be the place to go, but has changed management several times now. The staff was nice, but no one will ever convince me the vet did a thorough exam or that anyone even looked at my dog during the overnight stay. Had anyone taken five minutes with him, they would have seen that he was having severe muscle tremors when he tried to stand on his hind legs for more than three minutes. I had to take him to a second emergency room in Murfreesboro where the vet LISTENED to my dog's history of leg problems and let me watch as he examined my pet. As I said the staff was very nice and the place very clean, but they made me think I was crazy and that ice cream in not cold. Pets and their owners deserve better care, especially in a time of crisis. more

Truly blown away 6/16/2010

I am a student in a veterinary program. My dog was very hurt and I took her there to be treated. It was the best experience I have had. The vet was so sweet and good with my dog. He had the biggest heart I have ever seen. That is now where I want my career to be. more

PLEASE stay away from this place if at all possible. 8/9/2007

The worst experience I have had in my life with a vet. My yorkie was deathly ill. Every person within this facility was very unpersonable and not particularly animal loving. There was a very clinical atmosphere and demeanor. I allowed them to treat my dog due to the fact that they were the only after hours facility around (and their number was posted on my vets after hour message). The worst mistake I ever made and I will NEVER forgive myself. They ended up treating my dog for something that was NOT an issue for him. They performed a serious procedure on an already sick animal, making it worse. Their bottom line is making a buck and that is it!!! After repeatedly contacting the owner all I got was ""the runaround"". Since then I have vowed to detour as many as possible from making the same mistake I did. MY vet even said the x-rays the place took were no good to diagnose the issue. PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from this place. Pros: After-hours Cons: Everything, cost is doubled, unfriendly, misdiagnoses, staff misleads & lies, only the almighty buck is their friend more

P.E.T.S. Review 5/9/2007

I have no idea what the other reviewers went through, but my experience was awesome! The doctor and staff were wonderful. I was not exactly in the clearest frame of mind, as I thought my little Josie might not make it through the night. I had Loads of questions and even ended up asking some more than once. They were very patient with me. The waiting room was nice with plenty of magazines. I waited until her lab work came back and she was stabilized before checking into a local motel (red roof inn is about 3 min away. only 2 stars for them though) The staff was very caring and professional. Together we formed a plan of action, they worked up an estimate for me, we reviewed it and treatment began immediately. You must go into this with the mindset this is NOT your regular Veterinarian's office. They are not "cheap", but for the service, care, and peace of mind the cost is not at all unreasonable. They are there all night monitoring your pet while you can relax (even a little) more

Pet Emergency Treatment Service 4/15/2007

Yes, I've had to wait to be seen before at this clinic, but I feel that sometimes people do not realize that while the staff may not have a waiting room full, they do have critical patients in the back that may require immediate attention.\r I once got really upset that I had to wait two plus hours, but the staff explained that they had several very sick patients in the back.\r Once my pet was seen, however, so got the full attention of the staff and doctor there and did great! more

Pet Emergency Treatment Service 4/4/2007

My dog swallowed something she shouldn't have and I wasn't quite sure what it was, but I had a feeling it was a pill or something small that looked similar. My guess was that vomiting should be induced within a certain amount of time. When I checked her in at the front desk the staff was aware of her situation. I then sat in the waiting room for three hours with only one other patient waiting. Three hours later when I saw the Vet, vomiting was induced anyway and a small object that looked like a pill came out of my dog, but thankfully it wasn't a pill. My dog was okay, but had it been a pill she would probably not have been okay after three hours of sitting in the waiting room with only ONE other patient waiting to see the Vet. Also, the staff there is not very caring. They treat you like you are a number and they don't seem to want to take the time to answer your questions. Some people maybe don't ask questions, but I do and when I did I was made to feel as though I was bother more

Good for emergencies 10/13/2006

I took my cat here when she got sick. She was treated fairly well. We had to wait a little while but there are no appointments and they were efficient with the amount of people there. The front desk person was very professional. The doctor did assume the worst first and it turned out to be much less than he originally presumed. When I got her back she hadn't been cleaned up. It was also very expensive. They did save her life, though, and they checked up on her afterwards. I wish the doctors had been better able to communicate. I had to go to the vet to finally find out what was really wrong. So they weren't terrible, but they could be better. PROS: Professional, saved my cat's life, check up call CONS: Expensive, didn't communicate well, didn't clean cat up, assumed the worst more
