Dont Go To Pep- Boys, Dont even think about taking your car there, they are a rip off, they add more items on your bill you didnt even know about, I took my car in there because the power steering was making noise, after a couple of hours and said it will cost $1400.00 to fix , i said what why so much, they said i needed everything new, Also they added 2 warrantys, which i didnt ask for, also a oil change i didnt need, just had one, front brake platinum pkg. which i didnt ask for, alternator belt, which i didnt need, have a new belt, and so on, SO BEWARE, They will add alot more on your bill, you didnt ask for, I took it to another shop, total cost with labor $216.00 total, more

Find a real mechanic, through a friend, I would not go to any pep boys for repairs. Tires OK, oils changes forget it, didn't tighten my oil pan nut, leaking all over, more oil on the engine than in it. Left the inside of my car dirty. Front end work, the mechanic that worked on my car took no pride in his work at all. Defective, cheap parts were in stalled, had to go to a real garage to have the problem resolved. 3 seperate days wasted waiting for my car to be screwed up by pep boys.....If YOU have time to waste and money to burn, this is the place to go for auto repairs....other wise I repeat.......GET YOURSELF A REAL MECHANIC....to work on you car. This is a safety issue. I'm thinking about getting a Lawer I'm so disgussed with them!!! more

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GOT TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! I had an oil change there. My truck broke down shortly after I had the oil change, a mechanic comes to the scene where my truck breaks down and says there is no oil in your motor. I then have it towed to Pep Boys in Edison since they did the oil change. I was not happy, they tell me to leave it there and let them figure out what is wrong with it. The next day one of the managers calls me and his exact words to me were " we are a hundred percent responsible, the oil filter was leaking, which caused the timing belt to jump and blew up the motor. Two days later they call me and tell me they are not responsible. I had a catylitic convertor done there before this and they charged me $1400.00. I happen to look under my truck and knew it was not all new. I take it back there and the store manager says you are absolutly right, they never changed the front one. i recently went to Pep Boys to get a new battery. I have a normal mechanic but he was too far away. Pep Boys is in my neighborhood. They tested the battery and confirmed it needed to be replaced. To my dissatisfaction, they ONLY had the most expensive, "high-end" model in stock...so I was told. I really had no choice but to replace it. It left me feeling uneasy and untrustworthy of them. \r If it's true or not....which I don't think it was; it is not a place I will go again unless left with no other option. This is why I travel a few extra miles further to a trusted mechanic that knows that when you take care of a customer, the relationship is much more valuable then trying to "get one over" on someone once. You typically lose the customer for good. more

A few weeks ago, I went to this Pep Boys to get an alignment because they have the best price. I was told it would take 2 hours so I walked around the nearby stores for a little over an hour and then sat down inside Pep Boys to wait.. It took them 2 hours to tell me they didn't want to do an alignment because I needed a new part... A week later when I got the part, they said it would take 2-3 hours to complete the work.. and 6-7 hours later they were finished. I know places get busy and things are sometimes hard to do, but don't give me a time estimate if its completely bull$|-|*+.\r \r A second time I went there because my car failed inspection and they are listed as an official Emissions Repair Facility. It took 4 people to go thru the codes and figure out what the problem was and IF they could fix it.. \r \r Today my boyfriend went to this Pep Boys to get a part put on his car and it took them over 4 hours to tell him he had the wrong part.. \r \r Maybe this is the place where amatuer aut more

This is the only Pep Boy's I've been in but there aren't many people to help you make selections and there aren't many "fancy" displays. It's just kind of a loneyl and bleak place that you could get lost in forever. more

Spended $560.00 for full tune, overcharged on every parts installed by atleast 3X, just highway ripoof in city, was told to pickup car in 4 hrs but only took 22 hrs. GOT TO BE CAREFUL WITH TIER PRICES SPECIALLY FOR REPAIRS PROS: nothing CONS: AVOID AT ANY COST more
