Pediatrics On Broadway

The nurse in this organization is the rudest, pompous excuse for a nurse. Not even sure how she makes it in that office. The staff will only lift a finger for you if you help them lift up their arm. I find it extremely rude that the minute you walk in they ask for your name and co-payment in the same breath. You could be crawling in from pain and they won't even acknowledge you until you hand them that credit card!!! I have never heard one person in that office admit they made a mistake and they have made countless. After a year I received a bill for my son. I immediately called the insurance co and they told me it was paid two days after it was submitted. I called the office and the ""billing"" person told me I was wrong. I told her to call the ins. co. and she refused, saying it was my job. I told her if she didn't call, I wasn't paying a penny. She relented and called. I called the insurance co. again and found out that she did call, it was paid and that she didn't know how to read the insurance explanation of benefits. When I called the office back, she refused to talk to me and told the receptionist to tell me it was taken care of (I heard her in the background). Warning: check your bills when you get them!!!! On a higher note - Dr. Bob and Dr. Dicker are really very nice. Perhaps if they changed their staff their practice would grow leaps and bounds.... they don't seem to value your time. Just had a bad experience tonight. We were scheduled for an appointment. We were way early for an appointment so we patiently waited. But when it was our time, no one informed us that we have to wait more till who knows when. We waited for about 2 hours before we finally decided to just head home. Pros: Great doctors (so far) Cons: I agree with one of the posters.. more

I am upset to hear the negative reviews about pediatrics on broadway. I love them. I have been going to them for 11 years for both my boys. Dr. Dicker is the kindest most concerned doctor I have met for children. He has helped my family many times in the past with great referrals and getting my youngest son in for ear surgery when the ear surgeon had no room to fit us in. He made sure he was seen immediately and scheduled for surgery within a few days. He has even referred us to tutors and advised my family on iep programs within the school system. If you are looking for doctors who really care- Dr. Dicker and DeCristofano are the doctors you are looking for because I wouldn't take my children anywhere else!!!! As for the staff- yes they are very busy and can sometimes get stressed and abrupt, but for the most part, they are great too- they fit my boys in whenever they have really needed a sick appointment and are very nice when you get to the office. I guess everyone gets overwhelmed once in a while- no person is perfect!!! Pros: Doctors who are truley concerned with your childrens care Cons: a bit of a wait sometimes but worth it. more

I never experienced what the prior reviewer stated. All the doctors in the practice take the time to talk WITH you. We have been going there for 19 yrs this week and it will break my heart when the day comes and my kids can no longer to Ped. on Broadway. Pros: Caring doctors who actually take the time to talk with you. Cons: Can get crowded. more

You may be aware of the old saying; ""everyone is entitled to their own opinion"". I can't imagine why the last 4 reviews were as harsh as they were, I am sure that these parents are over reacting. I happen to think that these doctors are aces in their field. Every time I go there (7 years now) my children are given impeccable care. I have been referred to the appropriate specialists when needed, and my kids absolutely love their doctors. I cannot say enough positive things about the doctors and I would highly, highly recommend them to anyone who asks. As a matter of fact, some of my closest friends have since switched, as well as some of my family members, and they are all very happy. Whenmy kids go for their ""well visits"", I am given the time to ask, and have thoroughly answered, any questions I may have. I have never felt rushed, as a previous pediatricians have made me feel. Part I: My daughter (age 7) needed her last DPT shot for school. Ped. On Broadway rushed me in for a quick appt. Nurse walked in with two shots on the tray. I questioned why two and she stated she needed both. I'm a freak about immunizations, but allowed her to give my daughter the shots as she could not return to school without them. I fax the new records over to the school so she may attend starting the next day. I get a call from the school nurse that she did NOT get the shot she needed. I came to find the nurse gave my daughter an MMR (which is the big autism concerning shot and I had always stretched this shot into 3 to be safe - she got it in one and didn't even need it) and another shot for infants...which obviously she didn't need as she is 7. AND did NOT get the shot she did need to return to school!!!\r \r Cons: Dr. Dicker lied to me continuously over his nurse providing shots to my child that were given in error more

They keep you waiting forever and don't apologize for it. And when you call, you can get lost in their answering system; God forbid someone simply pick up the phone. more

I am very dissatisfied with this practice. 1st - billing, they do not submit to your secondary insurance, so i paid them the billed amount submitted to my secondary and then in return my secondary paid them, i have contacted billing for my $ back but i am told over and over that i do not have a credit on my daughters account so until then, they will not reimburse me. When leaving messages, you never get a call back in regards to that. 2nd - My daughter had gotten the chicken pocks for 1 year birthday, when she had some marks on her i was concerned, called for an apt. (i didnt know they were the pocks) The office never asked what the problem was so she gave me an apt. for that day. I showed up and told them she has a few marks and i don tknow what it is, it may be the pocks. The receptionist imediately said to me ""We dont want kids her when they have the chicken pocks."" for a first time mom i was nervous as it was, they made me wait for a doctor to see her. 3rd - went for her yearly check up and the doctor never looked at her previous visit and said, i'm concerned about this rash she has, i said she just got over the chicken pocks and thos ewere the marks, duuuuuhhhhhh!!! at least take a glance at the previous visit to the one you are at, right!! Anyway, i have changed doctors and wouldnt suggest them if you are a first time mom. I have much more to say but i will end at this. Pros: Very quick on getting you in if you need a sick visit that day, some of the staff is friendly and helpful Cons: no compassion for the parent more

This guy talks at you not to you. He refused to look at my daughter before she received her second flu shot. I told the nurse that she had been sick for about a week and a half, actually he had seen her during the time she was sick and told my wife that a doctor would check her before she got the shot. He stood at the front desk the whole time I was there talking and hanging out with the staff but was too busy to take a look at my daughter. The nurse not me should have known flu shots should not be given when you are sick, she gave it to her anyway. After we called and complained the nurse had the nerve to say that I refused to wait a few minutes for a doctor, come on. Be aware of this practice and please never use this doctor! more
