I signed up and paid in full for a 2 year membership at Peak fitness. I went 5 to 6 days a week, originally going to the Reynolda Road location and sometimes to the Robinhood location late hours on the weekend. Over the past 2 years, both the Reynolda road and Jonestown locations have closed and Robinhood has reduced their hours and are no longer 24 hours closing at 6pm on Saturdays and 5 PM on Sundays. I have always disliked the fact that the gym is pretty dirty, no one restacks their weights and often times they do not wipe down the equipment after they use it. The dumbbells are always loose and feel like they are going to fall of the bar. Recently they replaced 1/2 of the dumbbell weights with the rubber dumbbells. I have not heard one positive comment as everyone hates them and it makes me angry that they only have one 60 pound dumbbell instead of 2. Often times the equipment is loose or out of order. The bathrooms are disgusting. On top of it all, when it came time to renew, they wanted to charge more money. The manager took 3 weeks to call me back and when he finally did, he felt he could justify more money to continue to go there. I decided to look elsewhere and found the alternatives are so much better. For the same or slightly more money, their are several facilities here in Winston that are clean, organized and reasonably priced. I urge you to look at your options. Pros: You get what you pay for Cons: Too many to list more

Nasty - Worst Gym EVER 3/10/2009

If you like filth then this gym is for you. I walked away from a paid in full membership because this place was so nasty and dirty. They're obviously having major financial trouble - given the Attorney General's actions against them and the continued closing of local locations, reductions in hours and classes. \r \r I'm glad I switched to another gym - on Reynolda Road. Pros: Cheap price Cons: Filthy, Unfriendly Staff, Creepy Guys more

Unmaintained and service lacking gym 11/20/2008

I joined the gym 2 1/2 years ago. I go to the one on Robinhood Road. Recently, the gym hasn't been maintained. Many cars has been stolen. Other items have been stolen within the gym. The equipment breaks on a regular basis and it takes months to get it fixed. The clock in the ladies locker room hasn't been replaced (it broke several months ago). The handicapped shower has been broken for over a year. Supplies aren't maintained in the locker rooms: paper towels, soap, and toilet paper. The floor in the Group Exercise room was finally fixed after 2 1/2 years. The parking lot is full of trash. All complaints to management falls on deaf ears. The management is not concerned about their clients. All they care about is taking home a paycheck. The management is absolutely horrible. I will NOT be renewing my membership. The lack of maintenance and customer service are the absolute worse I have seen. Don't join this gym. Cons: Not maintained and no customer service more

Ripoffs. theives, lousy customer service 8/7/2008

I joined Peak Fitness in NC . I signed a year contract. I joined on Jonestown road . I signed the agreement. Not until i go to cancel (my hubby was being transferred to Gainesville, Ga) Did I even find out that I had to deal with ABC financial. I call ABC tell them I am moving. There is no Peak Fitness nearby , and that I needed to cancel. They said I had to send proof that I had moved (i.e lease agreement/utility bill). Then I am told it will take between 60 to 90 days to cancel. The guy Jamal at ABC said I have to send a registered letter w/ proof. I said well I am at a fax machine Can I fax it. He said sure. He said if there was any issue that I would be contacted and told what to do next. I faxed the lease /letter. June. I am doing bills and realize there are charges on my credit card for May and June. I call ABC. They tell me that they never received the info. What can WE do to f ix it. I am told nothing! I sent the lease again clearly stating when I moved in the apartment. January of 08. This is August and I am STILL bothered with this. I even offered to pay the extra month left on my membership. Now they say I owe for a month to month deal that I was NEVER informed about. I am refusing to pay that. I haven't lived near those gyms in almost a year. If ABC won't help Surely the guys at Peak will. they Know me and Know that I have moved. WRONG. Took nearly two weeks to get ahold of this guy named Brent at Robinhood I believe. I Finally got ahold of him on day 14 of calling on the 5th call. WORTHLESS..refused to give me a corporate number. ABC keeps telling me that it will go to collections. I told them I didn't care. If I ever needed credit I would take proof of everything I am saying and nobody would count it against me. I am hoping that I am taken to court. If you look up Peak fitness /abc financial you will find nothing but complaints and lawsuits! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!!! Pros: It is a 24/7 facility with child care Cons: ABC financial and lousy customer service more
