Party Starts Here

I had booked a party for my daughter 7 years ago. The owner could not make the original date and wanted me to have a birthday party for a bunch of 5 year olds on a Sunday night at 7pm. I asked for a refund of my deposit. She stated that my deposit was non-refundable. (without any previous warning) I ended up taking her to small claims court and won. But, the ironic thing about our court appearances is, the judge was VERY familiar with this owner. Stay away. This party place should have been closed down YEARS ago! more

Good: The friendly and professional service, I was given everything promised, and the children as well as the parents had a great time.. Bad: I LOVED the party !. Improvements: Everything was done to my liking.. Other: Anyone would could say anything bad about this place is CRAZY, it's a great place and I constantly recommend it to my friends.. more

I went to a party here a few weeks ago.This place was disgusting. I completely agree with the other reviewers. I was embarrassed for the mother of the party! Although the girls that ran the party were very spunky, all their supplies were outdated, old and gross. I was considering having my son's party here - but definitely will NOT. more

HORRIBLE. I had my daughters 6th birthday party here, and couldn't have been more DISGUSTED. The place is FILTHY. The bathroom had no soap or paper towels. Covered in dust and dirt. The face paint was old and gross looking. And BEWARE of the makeup. I took one look at the makeup and made told my girls NOT to put any on. It's OLD, dirty, and UNSANITARY to be putting that makup on childrens faces. The pinata was a joke, filled with hard candy and pastic coins. Just what a 6 year old wants. Even the crafts were dirty! And pizza was disgusting. The kids got half a slice, and it looked like it was simply rewarmed. I have a good mind to call the department of health. I am truely horrified at Helenes poor costumer service. She owns the business but won't admit to it. Do not waste your time. more

I recently hosted my daughter's 5th birthday here. They claim to be the MOST reasonably priced party place in the area and at first glance it does seem so.... until the costs keep adding up. I wouldn't mind paying if I felt that I was getting my money's worth, and this place definitely doesn't give you that. A place hosting theme parties should at least have some decent invites (included in the price) Instead they look like cheap, dull, cardboard flyers for the business that no parent would hand out. I asked for a tray of popcorn chicken and was given a price of 100 bucks. Are you kidding me??????? And the pinata ($34) was tiny and none of the kids could do anything with it. The girls hosting the party were not bad, but everything was so rushed, the overall impression wasn't very nice. It was like the kids were constantly being hustled around. I didn't even realise that my daughter's birthday cake was being cut, until the candles had been blown and the cake taken away from the table. The tattoos, face paint and make up were all cheap and minimal and if you hadn't arrived by the first 5 minutes of the party, too bad, you missed out. And the food was pretty bad, though the cake was AMAZING! But what i disliked the MOST was that we paid extra by mistake and and though we realised it almost immediately, the lady refused to return the money by blatantly lying outright. Also, she didn't give us a bill, so why should she be adding 8.75% sales tax when she's obviously not going to be paying her taxes? And to top it all off, she had the cheek to demand a tip. All in all, although the kids did have fun, I could have provided waaay more for them for the $1000 that I spent. This experience has made me leery of all such party organisers. more

My husband and I booked two parties here this year and last year as well. We had a great experience. All was well even the food which is usually terrible at kids party places. We were so pleased and all of our family mebers and quests raved about the service and the fact that they got such great service. We were so pleased and cant wait for our new babies first birthday so we can book here more

We had our daughters 2nd birthday at The Party Starts Here in smithtown. The store is pretty and the girls were extra nice to my little princess. She felt like she was special and my guests were very impressed. The cost was resonable and we were extremely happy. We will be back next year for sure!! more

This was the worst party I have ever seen. The owner was unprofessional and the hosts were just as rude. I flew in from AZ to see my niece celebrate her 4th birthday with her friends and it was awful. The place was dusty and the “Cinderella” acted more like the ugly step sister. It’s a shame this place take advantage of you by verbally telling you everything’s included and the day of the party everything that was “included” is now an additional cost. Our bad for taking these scam artists at their word but the best advice I can give everyone is to just stay away so you don’t have to end up like us. Live and learn, we did the hard way I hope you won’t have too. more

A lot went wrong with this party. Owner told me the price of the party over the phone. When I signed the contract, I was then told the price was more, and that you have to guarantee more children on the weekend. You must calculate the bill yourself and pay it in full BEFORE the party starts! I later figured out the reason behind this is that the party will not be what you expected, and people would probably be asking for credits. Where else does this happen? Do you know of any other place that forces you to pay in full before the services are rendered? The prices will also change (increase) from the time of booking to the day of the party. My daughter was promised by the owner that Cinderella was flying in from Disney just to be at her party. Well, Cinderella got the flu. The substitue was a nice girl, however, she could not fit into the costume so the back of the dress remained opened, she had BROWN hair and was wearing a dress that was very worn and wasn't even ironed. One mother said she looked HORRIFIC! The girls do not receive dresses to dress up in, but old, torn tutus. They looked dirty and even a four-year-old pointed out all of the holes in it! The ice cream cups served for desert were melted. The soda was warm, and they ran out of ice. One of my party guest had to go to a local store and buy some! I have rarely experienced such a lack of professionalism by the owner of a business. She has an attitue and clearly thinks she is doing you a favor by hosting your party. There was no apology or compensation for not fulfilling the obligations of the contract. She will, however, hold you to your end of the agreement, by even asking for a tip before your party starts!! After all who would leave a tip afterwards? There is another party place similar to this one, and I urge you to seek out other options before even considering this place. I could not have been more disappointed with this, and I have booked many, many birthdays over the years for my 5 children. more

We had a terrible experience with the owner from The Party Starts Here. She is a nasty woman. She was nice over the phone until we booked the party and she received our deposit. After that everything went wrong. She wouldn't call back for days, she called one night at 10:00 pm and woke up my 9 month old and she always had an attitude when I would speak to her. She showed up to the party 10 minutes late leaving everyone standing outside in the rain. Luckily, the girls that were working the party were very sweet and the kids had a lot of fun with them. If there was someone reliable and responsible running the place, it could have been a nice experience! more

The Party Starts Here is the best place ever! If anyone says anything bad about the service, they are nuts. The girls that work there are so sweet. Everyone had a great time at my granddaughters 3rd birthday. I was very proud when everyone said how nice the party was. I read another comment that some very mean person wrote, All I can say is that I myself own a company and have had the the experience of people not paying for my services. It should be understood that in the times we live in, it is mandatory for a service oriented company to get paid AS AGREED. The paperwork was given to me for my grandaughters party when we booked the party. Everything was clearly spelled out. This party place has been in business for over ten years. No one can stay around that long with out doing the right thing. We had a wonderful experience, and by the way, who cares who owns the store, if you are not looking for trouble why would you have to know that? You should have paid your bill. more

My son had his 4th birthday here and it was awful.The owner lied to us about everything. The girls that ran the party were horrible and didnt even get the kids sitting involved. I as the parent had to do that. The owner then started the party 20 minutes late because my mother was late paying the rest of the bill and then she wouldnt let us have an extra 20 minutes. The crafts,the face painting,and tattoos were very cheap looking and the price was all a lie and too expensive for stupid games.NEVER AGAIN!!!! more

I was very that for about one half the price I had spent last year on my daughters party, we had twice the fun. The store is well run and the girls who work the parties could not be nicer. We had so many comments from our guests about how nice the party was. We cant wait to go back next year for our sons first birthday! more
