I'll admit that I'm a regular at Paradise Park. I live and work downtown, so my partner's and I eat lunch there about twice a week. I tend to end my night's there fairly often, mostly because the bar stays full until close, and because afterward, I can go next door and eat at 3am. The food has always been top notch, and the open kicthen lets you watch the cooks prepare your food, and it's proof that the food is fresh, not frozen. (unlike other establishments in the area). Don't get me wrong, I frequent other restaurants and bars downtown as well, but this place has a great atmosphere and some great live music that keeps me coming back. The thing that annoys me, are the other reviews on here (most seem to be a fairly transparent attempt by a near-by competitor to annonymously slander a better bar). And, as someone who frequents Paradise Park, I feel the need to share my experience and observations, so that toursits and locals alike aren't swayed by the half-hearted attempts to bad mouth a great place. Some odd things stand out about certain reviews...first, Paradise Park doesn't have servers. At all. All food is ordered and picked up by the customer. Secondly, You can't get breakfast and dinner at the same time (believe me, I've tried). So, how did someone eat eggs (which aren't sold a la carte) while someone else ate a corn dog? Lastly, the drink prices are comperable to EVERY place downtown. It costs me $3.50 for a Miller Light Bottle, $8 for a Jagerbomb. Pretty standard. Plus, my buddies and I can get a $6 pitcher every day of the week. The staff and management have always been pleasant and accomidating and the ""ambiguous"" decor is nealty fashioned and creatively designed...I'm not sure how an '82 Camaro and Astroturf give an ""ambiguous"" feeling, but I digress...Don't get me wrong, there are things they need to tweak and get better at, but of the two new bars that opened recently on Broadway, Paradise Park is by far the superior.
Pros: Great food, solid prices, great staff, wonderful ambience
Cons: Parking, very crowded on the weekends
