Panzanella,if you go be prepard to take a chance,the wait staff has on and off days,depending on who's hosting you may have to wait for a seat for a while...the food is usually ""...

Bustered Service 2/12/2008

So i had breakfast there once, food was decent but the service was real bad. Took 20 minutes to even get water. I think there was maybe 10 people in the resturaunt. Guy was just rude. more

Good food, portion sizes vary 2/3/2008

I greatly enjoyed my scallops with risotto. There was not much food with the meal. I dined with a large group of people and those who ordered the chicken dish or a pizza got a lot. Interestingly, their food was a lot less money. Everybody enjoyed what he or she ordered and it was in a neat setting. If you haven't been, I suggest checking it out. Great ambiance, Great Italian Fare with Local Flare... 2/10/2007

The food's always as fresh as can be while the menu rotates enough to please anyone on any day for any ocassion. I've had large parties there (7-8) and have enjoyed many a romantic dinner there with the wife. The rennovated warehouse with the 20' ceilings makes the restaurant much quieter than one might expect upon first inspection. The wine list is always great and the apetizers are some of the best in the triangle. At least try the warm olives with the bread. Having gone to Panzanella's for 5+ years, we've never had an unpleasant dining experience nor a bad meal. Always good food, always great service. Pros: Value, Ambiance, Freshness more

Our Favorite 9/19/2003

When my husband and I have gone to the effort to line up a babysitter, we ALWAYS go to Panzanella's. The food is great, and I've always had good (if not exceptional service). Once my arugula salad came with way too much dressing; I told the waitress and she brought another without question. As for the wine in a juice glass remark below, did it occur to you that maybe this was a stylistic choice rather than a mistake? (Duh!) more

A local favorite 8/31/2002

I'm surprised at the negative reviews Panzanella received from other citysearch users - it has long been a favorite of mine. Their menu changes seasonally which keeps us on our toes, but fortunately their amazing tiramisu is always available. The wine list is impressive, as is the freshness and quality of their ingredients. Although it can get a little noisy, the food and service more than makes up for it. more

Perfect Blend of Flavor 8/26/2002

After the usual chapel hill restaurant wait, we sat down and proceeded to have an explosion of tastes. Our wine(which was more than a bargain at $26) was one of the smoothest chianti's I've had. The Grilled Vegetable Gazpacho our waiter told us had been harvested that morning, and the vibrant freshness certainly corresponded. Duck was succulent, and the crab ravioli with lobster brown butter, mushrooms and leeks was to die for. Our service was casual but that's all we expected. Panzanella,if you go be prepard to take a chance,the wait staff has on and off days,depending on who's hosting you may have to wait for a seat for a while...the food is usually ""can't miss"" and at that price how could it even if it was mediocre....wine in a juice glass?? I don't get it,how hard is it to use the right glass? Some of the most inexpensive wine in a resturant I've ever seen..... more

A ROCK in my FOOD?! 6/6/2002

I've only been to Panzanella once, but that was enough to send me home dissatisfied. I ordered a white bean pasta dish that I enjoyed until I bit down on a ROCK! To add insult to injury, our waiter had completely disappeared after bringing our food so I had to wait, hungrily, for 30 minutes to ask for a meal replacement. Unacceptable service and my tip reflected it... more
