We made it very clear that we wanted only a quick quote on what we want done and nothing more, not what they want to sell. Salesman comes out and tries to sell us their tex-cote cool wall for our house trim..when all we wanted was some of the wood trim replaced and regular prime and paint. When we told them that during the estimate, he said he won't do it. The estimate was laughable...more than $2,000 than my whole house painted. When we showed our dismay at the estimate, a 'magical' phone call instantly came in to him and he got permission to take the price down $1,000..and it had to be accepted in 2 days or we'd lose that price. He didn't look happy that we said we want to think about it and do some research on the Tex-cote... He left without even giving us a written est . that he'd been working on. We did some research and it showed that the BBB had 40 complaints and the Insider had over 50 reviews, most for high sales pressure tactics, unreliabilty by workers, repeated calling the homeowners even when asked to stop, and bad product that cracks. Another contractor friend just told us that tex-cote is not good and any repairs are very hard to handle because it's like plastic. This will be the last time we allow a door to door salesman give us a quote. I don't understand why these companies just can't do an honest days work...By the way, I suspect a lot of these 'happy' customer reviews, are actually Pacific Homeworks employees and friends.trying to do damage control after all the bad reviews all over the internet.
