been ripped off too need feedback for class action these people are bad the lie sell your items one way tell you another more

I have also been robbed by Pacific Galleries, awful customer service-they seldom reply mails or phone calls, you have to insist a zillion times. Once they sell your item, they give you pennies for it, that is NOT what they said when you talk to them at the beginning nor does it represent the value they post on their site showing the item before the auction. Be very careful, do not consign there. One antique dealer told me ""they screw people up"". I wish I had listened to what he said. Never again! Class action lawsuit? I am for it! more

I have been basically robbed by Pacific Galleries through false representation, appraisals and finally the selling prices that not only had reserves but also other known appraised items (appraisers outside PG ) that when they agreed with auction price still sold for pennies and some under reserved contracted prices. In addition to bad service from communication to accounting, which leads me to begin a lawsuit and I am looking for anyone that has any information that could serve as witness / evidence.\r \r Thank you more

Incredibly bad auction house 2/5/2012

They steal your merchandise by giving vague descriptions and using terms like "miscellaneous" so that you never receive compensation for all of your items. The owner is mysteriously never available and the manager is a half wit rude jerk. The lies told to us we're staggering. A sham of a business. We are looking into legal recourse. This business should be shut down! more

CHARLATANS! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! I bought a "one-of-a-kind" piece of folk art furniture here only to find it at an Indian import warehouse in the southcenter area for 1/2 the price I paid for it at Pacific Galleries. When I brought this blatant misrepresentation to Doug's attention (manager at Pacific Galleries) he did me the courtesy of contacting the seller who offered absolutely no resolution at all! Can you believe it! I was stunned! Simply put, they were unwilling to allow me to return the piece. I have disputed the purchase on my credit card but honestly, I will never shop here again nor will I allow this establishment to rip me off. Buyer Beware! more

Love the rush of bidding 9/6/2011

I stop by the Pacific Galleries antique mall when I'm in the area but I never made it to one of their auctions until last weekend with my friends. It was so much better than I expected! I was just going to watch but the people were so friendly I just decided to register and see if I could find something to bid on that wouldn't be too much. I'm so glad I got started with them. My only regret is that I didn't bring my husband to help with the heavier items! more

Amazing auction 8/17/2011

I just attended my first Pacific Galleries auction and it was great! The staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions throughout the process (I had never signed up for an auction before). I really can't wait to consign some items here and make some extra $$$. Seems like there is a pretty loyal following at this auction house, better get on board. more

Really Bad Business 5/18/2011

Horrid! The staff is totally clueless, rude, mean, stupid and incompetent. Mike, the ""manager"" is a rude clueless arrogant individual who had the nerve to actually tell me off for correcting him on one of my items. I even had papers to prove the authenticity but he in his arrogance decided that he was right and the papers were wrong. I could clearly see after dealing with him why there have been so many complaints and as a result decided not to sell my items through this place. Their loss my gain. There are other more legitimate places in Seattle that have people with real knowledge working there and who are helpful as I have found. I was able to sell my items at twice what Pacific Galleries told me I would get dealing with someone else and it was a legitimate description. I would never buy or sell anything here as you will either overpay or lose money. Shame on Pacific Galleries for being the worst auction house around. more

Disgusting Place! 2/1/2011

This place is dishonest! Lost my items, altered descriptions to con people into paying more money, yes they marked several antique items as new and grossly mislabeled other stuff so I ended up with a hodgepodge of mislabeled stuff that barely sold, they damaged two chairs picking them up and then refused to repair them, there is no staff whatsoever to help me except some secretary who kept handing me over to some insulting manager, an absentee owner, and some old guy who was always in the hospital or on vacation (right). Next time I'll try a local garage sale or craigslist or anything else for all the grief I got from this place! I hope their employees enjoy all the items that somehow disappeared from my inventory list! Disgusting people! more

Dishonest Business 1/27/2011

Be careful what you buy here, they are very inaccurate on the descriptions and the rude salespeople don't know anything. I bought a vase here and it was totally a fake. I had it appraised and was told by the appraiser that it was worth a tenth of what I paid and the original would be worth what I paid for it. The tag clearly said it was an original so I paid a high price based for a fake item. I have since returned it but it took a lot of pressure on my part for them to take it back. I can imagine how many people ended up with fake merchandise but didn't know. Bogus place with bogus items. I will not be back. more

terrible experience 1/15/2011

Staff seems to lie to sell you something. Even though I knew two items I was interested in were obviously mid-century, the sale lady kept insisting they were antiques. I am a bit of an expert on those particular items having collected them for over 20 years and being well versed in their history. The sales lady, however, seemed more interested in arguing about how right she was instead of being a little enlightened by a stranger Anyway, that told me that the staff does lie to sell you something. This place takes in a ton of anything and everything so expect that most items will be mislabeled and knowledge of the items will be minimal to completely inaccurate. The potential to overpay here for an item here is extremely high, a big minus in my book and one that should not be overlooked by buyers. more

Not a real auction house 1/14/2011

This place is terrible. All of the items are mislabeled and the people here rude beyond description. I've bought plenty of stuff from auction houses around the country and never encountered a place so unprofessionally run and such mean staff. I saw two sales people literally insult a customer I was standing by just because the customer politely asked for some authentication on an item. I mean, hello, is that out of line? It was a very expensive painting. And I saw so much junk labeled as antiques that weren't even vintage and expensive too. I bought one very small inexpensive item here only because I was with some friends and left. I won't be back. The labels and staff are way too scary for me. I'll stick with real auction houses from now on. more

some exciting auctions 10/19/2009

I've been to several auctions put on by the Pacific Galleries Auction House and have always found them to be very exciting. You can feel the energy of the crowd, especially when some exotic piece comes up. more

Huge, huge antique place 5/5/2009

This place has a lot of really great antiques, but includes eclectic and modern as well. The staff was really helpful as well. Pros: It's enormous Cons: well, it's enormous! You need more than one day more
