As a former Microsoft employee, I enjoyed one of the company perks--a paid gym membership. The gym of choice at Microsoft is Pro Sports Club in Bellevue.
While the facility is very nice, and recently completed a major renovation, my biggest gripe with it is, despite the expansion, certain parts of their facilities are far too small. For example, they have four pools, but only one of them is used for lap swimming. The others are multipurpose, or therapy, or lessons, or under 18 swim team. It's very frustrating to come in and want to swim when the lap pool is full, and maybe one person is practicing for swim team but you can't use their pool.
I was also often frustrated with the front desk staff--much of the time they seem more interested in socializing with each other than in offering assistance.
Despite these frustrations, Pro Club is a nice facility--they keep their equipment in good working order, and have a full floor of cardio equipment--treadmills, elliptical trainers and spinning bikes. They have a free weights area as well as a full cadre of weight machines. Personal trainers are available (for a fee). They also offer a variety of classes including strength, spinning, yoga and more. I did find it a little frustrating that most of the classes had a price tag attached--if you're a paying member of the club, this on top of the monthly membership fee would be way too much for me. They also have a weight loss program they call 20-20, which is astronomically priced.
There is an onsite sit-down restaurant upstairs as well as a coffee/smoothie counter at the check-in level. The check-in area can get quite congested as well.
Pro Club added a Spa and Salon during their expansion, and the services are pretty good for the Spa. Each time I've made a salon appointment, however, the person I last saw has completed some other level of training and their rates have increased. Stick with the massages and facials, and you;ll be satisfied, though the feel of the spa itself is a little more gym, less getaway (you share things like your sauna and jacuzzi with the regular women's locker room, for example).
If you've got money to burn, this is the club to belong to.
