I have been a customer of Oscar Da Silva's Salon for years, and continue to be impressed every time I go for the vast array of services provided. The staff is extemely courteous and professional and ensure that customers are treated extremely well. The hairstylists keep themselves on the cutting edge of new styles and creative ideas. The atmosphere is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone looking for excellent service, and all that a top notch salon has to offer. more

I have been going to Oscar Da Silva Beauty salon for 5 years. During all these years, I have found great service and top of the line end products ( styling, hair cut, coloring, manicure, pedicure, spa). However, for me, the best thing about going to Oscar Da Silva salon is that you feel you are part of the family from the moment you go in to the moment you leave. I highly recommend it. I can't believe the critics below. Oscar and Carlos have served the people of Queens (and other cities) for over 10 years, earning the respect and trust of the whole community. The ""Oscar Da Silva salon"" is full of professional and kind people. I highly recommend this place, you don't have to take my word, just stand outside of their salon for 15 minutes and you will see all the customers coming in (trustfull) and out (happy and beautiful). This has been the worst place ive ever been 2 in my life. I cant believe the way I was treated here. No one deserves the treatment that I recieved in this place. I went here to get my hair and makeup done for my grad party. I figured I would get my highlights done there since i was getting everything else done. 1st of all I had to wait an hr to be acknowledged even though i had made an appointment 3 weeks in advance. I told the people there that i wanted the same highlights I have always had (i just needed to get the roots done)and the person doing my hair was rude and said that they were the profesionals and that i shouldn't have so much to say since I didn't know and they had been doing this for a long time. I was shocked considering that I am the one who has been carrying this color all along and even if it doesn't look good on me it's what i like and what i was paying for. Beside my better judgement i stayed and let them do my highlights. The same professionals that have been doing this for so long left the bleach on for too long (even though i voiced concern and told them it was burning) resulting in the bleach burning half of my hair off. I couldn't believe it and i started to cry. He(the owner) said that i needed to calm down that it wasn't a bigt deal,""IT'S JUST HAIR"". i had picked a particular style that went with my dress and could only be done w/ my long hair. Last minute they did some bob pinned in the back that i could've done my self and i had to pay over $300. When i complained in the end about my disatisfaction, they basically said too bad but we did your hair so you have to pay. He said that if i didn't like it i didn't have to return since they had many customers w/ money so they didn't care. I had never been talked to like that in my life. No one deserves to be treated like that. Specially when you are paying. more

I had been there two weeks prior to my wedding day for a trial make up and hair, things were ok so I made my appointment for 9:30am for the day of my wedding. For starters the day of the wedding the people that were going to do my hair did not show up until 10am. The Owner Carlos Da Silva gave the order to put the rollers and put my under the drier and left me sitting there and never came back. An hour had past and the lady at the desk said that the Carlos had left for an interview and another hair stylist said he had left because of a bank issue. They were giving me the run around and I was getting very nervous because of the lack of time. One of the workers tried many times to get in touch with him on the cell but he would not answer his phone. I asked that someone else please start doing my hair. After an hour and half he came back. When I began to complain about what happened Carlos began to yell telling me to look around to the number of people in the salon, and stated that I dont need your money and I wont do your make up. Stating that he had left many brides without doing there make up on the day of their wedding and did not care if he would do the same to me. He repeated that he was not going to do my make up over and over until one of the workers had to come over and calm him down. I began to cry and people waiting came to my aid with water. I was in shock and in disbelief. I did not know what to do with only about an hour and half left to my wedding, so I had no choice but take the worst humiliation in my life and have that bastard do my make up anyway. I would not recommend that anyone go to this salon and take the chance of going through the humiliation that I went through. This has really left me with a scare in my heart every time I think about my wedding day. Pros: the clients were very nice Cons: worst customer service ever more
