Osborne Towing is the wosrt garage in Albany to do business with unless you own a parking lot like Maiden Lane Parking. These 2 businesses have an agreement to tow cars and get paid for it. They charge $135 and damage cars often. My car was towed illegally from a Maiden Lane Lot on Broadway in Albnay, near The Palace Theater. They scratched my paint job and were insulting and profane when I complained. I had paid for the parking , but was towed anyways. Both are awful companies to deal with, avoid them at all costs! more

I WITNESSED CAR'S BEING TOWED TONIGHT FROM MCDONALDS NEAR THE TIMES UNION CENTER. THIS GARAGE IS OUT OF CONTROL. THEY DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PUT CAR'S IN NEUTRAL THEY JUST HOOK THEM AND PULL THEM ONTO TRUCK. I WATCHED AS THE WHEELS SLID WHERE TRANSMISSIONS WERE IN PARK. THE OWNERS OF THIS GARAGE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE AND I'D BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TESTIFY TO WHAT I SAW. ALSO WERE YOU PARKED FOR A GAME AT TIMES UNION CENTER? WELL IF SO I CALLED THERE AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT STATING THAT CARS WERE BEING TOWED. ANOTHER HORRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS IN ALBANY COUNTY. I live in Adams Park in Albany. I had parked in the parking lot assigned to me (that I have a parking permit for) overnight like I always do when I get home and the next morning when I go out to leave for work - my car is gone. After getting down to Osborne Street Garage, the man at the ""window"" was completely unprofessional and told me it would be $135 to get my car out. I asked him WHY it was towed in the first place and he said I didnt have a permit. Funny, my permit is hanging in my car's rear view mirror and I can see it from here. Even worse, my car was damaged from being towed - I now can't go in reverse and I have to either fix it for $900 or buy a new car because of these @$$holes. On top of that, they heard the person I was with talking to my landlord about this place and the owner comes out SCREAMING at him, calling him a f3cking liar. Don't get me wrong, I understand that these people have a job to do, but towing cars out of a private parking lot JUST BECAUSE THEY FEEL LIKE IT is complete and utter horse sh1t. Pros: The owner will DIE one day. Cons: Completely unprofessional, broke my car, cursed at me, etc. more

My car got towed while I was in NYC @ school. They charge $35 a day to leave it outside where it can be rained on, snowed on, have a tree fall on it, anything. Then when you call them they give YOU an attitude. There making money when they do nothing. more

These guys were so awful about towing cars at our apartment complex. Every night they'd come and charge you like $150 to get your car back. Some of the time they were justified. Some of the time, it just wasn't right. On one of those occasions they said they took pictures and would give it to us and never did! It was also time city and complex told them to stop towing because they were being abusive and they were no longer allowed to tow at our apartment complex like that! I'm sure they were easily making $10g just off our complex (towing several cars a day, times 30 days, times $150). SO they lost a lot of business with the unethical towing. Low and behold, not to long after, 50 or so cars throughout the complex all had their tires flattened. Some of the people we talked to, coincidentally all had their cars tolled at some point, but we weren't all signed to the petition against their abuse to the city. I found it highly suspicious. Three years here and no slashed tires like that, until the apartment people armed together to stop this abusive towing practices. Pros: Aggressive, make a lot of money off us, some of the towing is justified Cons: They got abusive and did a lot of towing unjustified, never showed pictures, when apt. people complained and they were told not to tow here, many tires were slashed in middle of night more

just dont park anywhere you want without thinking.everyone has a job and thats there job. you pay to park or park in street. dont follow everyone inless you see a sign that says free parking. its your money your car. Pros: ok Cons: ok more

I have been a long time member of a church in down town Albany. Last week a friend slipped on some ice and hurt herself badly. As a member of a church who clearly marks their parking lot as a place that can only be used by it's members, I have every right to park there (as I have been assured by the church). After leaving my car there for literally 10 minutes to retrieve my injured friend, a man from this garage attempted to tow my car. I explained in great detail my situation, my right to park in the lot and asked him to please take my car off the truck. He demanded $130 or he would not give me back my car. Neither one of us had change so I had to give him $140. Of course I had no choice as he was just doing his job and asked when the best time to call his office would be to clear up the misunderstanding. I called just now. Was called a ""liar"" and hung up on. At the very least, I would expect my change but nothing came of me calling. Osborne Street Garage, thieves, liars and lowlifes. CONSUMER BEWARE. How are we going to blame them for doing their job. I personally own a business and i understand how people lie and don't have enough money to pay . Money makes the world go round people! If you don't have the money, don't park there. Easy as that. You can't blame anyone else but yourselves. Ive gottan my car towed 3 times from there but i t was my fault.. if the way they make hteir money is huntin people down so be it.......u probably were there for 4 min and ur car got towed!! and they were huntin but ya gotta let them do what they do...Joe Gamando was a very respectful man..he showed me respect because i showed him. I rent in Albany. Included in that rent is a parking space behind my building which is NOT under contract by the Osborne Garage therefore any towing is deemed unlawful; more specifically, motor vehicle theft.\r Osborne Garage however believes they are above the law and chose to tow my car even as I chased them down the road a half a mile to save them face.- He sped up when he saw me!! BIG MISTAKE.\r Upon arriving at the garage and requesting that my car be released immediately, I was harassed, belittled, and laughed at while being accused of not having a parking permit (no permit necessary). To make a long story very short...they held my car in the lot prohibiting from getting it before paying a $135 recovery fee. ""No money, no car,"" Joe Gimundo Jr. snickered, ""Cash or Credit"". I tried to reason with this for lack of a better word, d o u c h e b a g, but he told me that he ""doesn't work for free,"" regardless of whether or not he legitimately stole my car in the first place. I refused to pay as he got into his tow truck smirking and attempted to drive away (he was the only person staffing).. If i wanted my car, I had to pay and it was already 1am. I paid the money, I had work at 6am. Frustrated, I went to bed swearing that I would get a refund and an apology. This truly was unfair and brutal. more

My car was towed by this place due to an expired registration 3 weeks expired at that. Albany cops will get you for anything; god forbid they hassle someone who deserves it. When i went to pick up my car the owner was very nice and professional a little expensive but it was my fault it was towed in the first place. My car was in perfect shape and nothing was missing out of it. Can't complain these guys are just doing their jobs. more

These guys, Joe Gimando Jr. and his father Joe Gimando Sr. are the biggest losers I ever met in my life. They illegally ripped my car out of my apartment building's private lot and damaged one of my wheels in the process. They did about $300 in damages to a car that was in perfect condition prior to them putting their greasy scumbag hands on my property. Luckily myself and a bunch of my neighbors stood in front of the town truck and prevented these scumbags from taking my car. They too had been victimized by these losers. \r I took them to court and they lied and said they took a picture of my car's wheel (the one they damaged) prior to towing my car and that the damage was already there. I got the feeling that no matter how much proof I had the judge was not on my side and not interested in the truth. These people are above NOTHING. Be warned that if these people tow your car they WILL damage it and they WILL lie about it. They say they take pictures of every car before they tow it....can you imagine that?!!! This company needs to have their license taken away. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. They have damaged my car, after towing it illegaly, and refused to even listen to my complaints.
